Discussion: Powershare [V2X feature currently announced for Cybertruck]

I don’t think there is any electronic needed in wall connector for v2h, other the powerwall/gateway and charger installed in backup panel. Charge on solar is independent of cable.

    500 mile range? LOL

The battery pack is to small for towing. Every truck that tows daily will need the battery replaced about every three years. I base that based on cars that were designed with less then 150 mile range, battery can’t handle it. I probably have three years till my order comes up. I will deal...

    500 mile range? LOL

I won’t execute my order till tesla offers the 500 mile battery. I think towing with the 300 mile battery will “damage” the battery due to the every large sustained load. So life won’t be great. Then tesla will start denying claims because people didn’t buy the range extender.

Emergency disconnect switches with Battery Storage and Solar

Panel V, generation panel, has a main breaker which will disconnect it from the TEG. I believe you are correct and the batteries will shut down when the main breaker is thrown, but have not tested it. I believe the fire department will look and open every thing labeled emergency disconnect.

What is the difference between 1 and 3? Line diagram is correct, even has main breakers in 400 amp panels. I added labels to pictures.

Do you have enough solar to go off grid in winter?

What about the ecoflow generator which puts out dc 48-58.8v and connecting to solar inverter to charge powerwalls. https://us.ecoflow.com/products/dual-fuel-generator?variant=40573814014025

Emergency disconnect switches with Battery Storage and Solar

I think Tesla screwed up my panel labeling. Need to know what the experts think. I have a 200 amp disconnect switch outside between the meter and TEG, I think should be marked “Emergency Disconnect, Not Service equipment”. Then I have a generation panel outside that goes to the TEG combining...

    Tesla Megapack Battery Storage

Ok dispatchable then. You have to divide solar, 2 axis tracker, by three; and fixed by four. And that is one the best sunny day. Texas, ecott, is trying to figure out how to use grid scale batteries, what has been happening is just seldom peek shaving. Texas might have 5 GW of installed...

No Garage / No driveway.... Charging?

let’s say the charger install costs 10K, can the OP get a tax credit on the installation? And how much would that be? Install might require more then one trade, concrete guy to cut concrete and replace, electrician to run conduit to main service panel and materials. Would add value to said...

Do you have enough solar to go off grid in winter?

My insert has fresh air inlet on the sides, Glass helps slow the flow up the chimney. Vertical has the benefit of self clearing snow. Tilt of earth is 23.6 degrees, so that is 47.2 summer to winter. Vertical is the equivalent of north facing panels in summer as vertical to winter. I’m not...

Do you have enough solar to go off grid in winter?

I would like to toss out my existing hvac, but for a few week out of the year it does what it needs to within my energy budget (solar production). To replace three systems would be expensive, $30K plus. I will keep fixing what I have, I do my own work. I have regular fireplace insert with...

Do you have enough solar to go off grid in winter?

I couldn’t survive off grid without supplementing my heat with propane/wood. If it is zero degrees out I use 200 kWh per day with supplementing with fire place, and on a good solar day I can generate 80 kWh in winter, summer 130 kwh; but I can’t count on solar in winter. If I shutoff the...

Tesla charge on solar reporting error

I believe the car has a CT, for feedback on charger draw so as not to over draw from charger/circuit limitations. But agree something goes to sleep. I have an access point in garage, so WiFi signal strength isn’t the problem.

Tesla charge on solar reporting error

The data for the car drops out, and then is reported as a 126 kw load, charge on solar was turned off and charge rate was set to 16 amps. Seems like the car stops reporting to TEG, car dropped out in bottom graph half way thru charging, then comes thru at end as huge number. See graphs; car...

BEV are exploding all over China.

Tesla have battery packs manufactured in China sold in China and now in the USA. So the teslas could be China batteries. I do not like 100Ah prismatic batteries in electrical vehicle battery packs, if a cell short occurs there is no fuse to blow possibly stopping a fire. Tesla battery packs...

Discussion: Powerwall 3 [Speculation / Discussion etc]

I think they were lazy. My house is grounded to cold water line and one ground rod, built in 2002. Tag is confusing, seems like different inverter options. So is Bess output dependent on inverter installed? Charge limited to 5KW. I’m sure batteries cells are CATL, prismatic. LFP likes to be charged to 100%, so that is a good thing. Still prefer cylindrical cells in metal can. So now...

    Panel/backup question-SolarRoofInMass

I have GE panels, originally two 40 circuit panels, and replaced my backup loads panel with a 80 circuit GE panel so I could fit all my loads into it. Grid profile recommendation--48 IQ8PLUS-72-2 US Microinverters w/Two PW2s

Im certain that 83hz is a typo, s/b 63hz. Iq8 inverters can act as both a current power supply and a voltage power supply, but they should never go into voltage mode unless connected to enphase gateway and commanded to do so. But seems like they did and weren’t able to charge powerwall. But...

    Connect your Powerwall to Wi-Fi

Charge on solar is having issues, car say it can’t connect to powerwall. Powerwall dashboard is working, so powerwall is on my network; car is on wifi and communicating. So something is a miss with tesla, I don’t think it is on your end. Can you vpn into your home network and troubleshoot?

Looks like it's headed to being official - $400 registration fee and $200 annual fee in Texas for EVs
