    Kman's Tesla Videos

Checking out and taking a closer look at a 2019 Tesla Model X 100D with the Ultra-White interior! Got this beauty as a loaner. My first "Hands-On" with the Ultra-White interior (Meaning, more than just seeing it in a showroom). Overall, even being a Non-Plaid (Non-Redesign), noticeable overall...

Battery problems after Tesla high voltage test..

Weak climate control fan. Actually strong fan, weak airflow.

If the cabin fan is actually turning at high speed (as in working), it sounds like actuator that controls what vent the air goes to is stuck or dead. Switch back and fourth between windshield, floor and face vents in random orders, leaving about 2 seconds between selection. If its stuck, that...

Towing motorcycle trailer with coil suspension?

I've been towing my my coil suspension Tesla's since 2014 when the Eco Hitch was released. I've towed small utility trailers, and my camper cross country, including circulating the USA. I've not scraped the hitch on any bumps, including Chitcago's Speed Humps which are absolutely asinine. The...

    Pyro Fuse Fuss

I have a November 2016 Build MX, middle row doesn't fold :-( I can't stand the powered doors nearly at all. Only benefit is I can close everything but the hood with a fob press.

    Pyro Fuse Fuss

I will say, when I had my Motorcycle & Scooter shop, the two categories that had the most problems. 1: The ones that were driven excessively with little regard to maintenance. 2: The ones that were barely used. Couple examples. 1 irate customer went ape-schnit because I dared charge him for a...

    Pyro Fuse Fuss

Not a chance, my 90 year old grandmother is on her 4th transmission on her 04 Lincoln Aviator. It has 60,000 miles on it as of last weeks yearly oil change... Can't get her to get rid of it though, she is "used" to driving it. Though, I don't think she will be driving for much longer. She paid...

    Pyro Fuse Fuss

I agree with this. It pretty much ticks every check box for requirements in a good vehicle. Tried and tried and tried my sisters Y. No matter what I do and how many times I try it, I can't get around not having a dash screen. It's just so inefficient using the center screen for everything. Also...

    2013 model S

Yep. Even going to 100%, after the charging stops, and voltages settle, it's more around 4.15v-4.18, so still not at "100%".
  13. islandbayy

    2013 model S

under 90 normally, though, going to 100% if it's not kept sitting at 100% (charge to 100% but use it soon after) is good to also help balance out the battery. Despite popular belief, charging to 100% is not bad. Charging to 100%, then leaving it at 100% for a week+ while you are on vacation is...

    Drive unit replacement worth it?

Carvana just offered me 11k for a absolutely flawless 2013 model s. Claimed it would sit on the lot forever. I sold it in a matter of days. Since it's an out of warranty repair, you get what, 4 years 50k .Should have unlimited supercharging right? Free Cellular? Milk it. One of the reasons I...

    Supercharger - Lake Delton, WI

I will admit, it will definitely help when I need to move my 24ft cargo trailer back and fourth from Milwaukee to Dells and Back. If I'm lucky, 75 miles at 100% charge, and thats at 45mph on county highways. I dread what it will be on the freeway. I'd need a 100% in Johnson Creek, 100% in...

    Supercharger - Lake Delton, WI

Just some action shots  and one example of a MAJOR EV-hole. They didn't even stay with the vehicle. We measured with a Tape Measure, it would have fit if backed in.
  21. islandbayy

    Supercharger - Lake Delton, WI

While it helps, it does not solve the problem. I argued and fought with Tesla back in 2013, BIG TIME, to put the supercharger in the Dells instead o Mauston. They would not. It cost Tesla a lot of $$$ (free supercharging) as people would drive past the dells, go to mauston, charge, then go back...

    Supercharger - Lake Delton, WI

Throughout the summer, it has gotten exceedingly busy. Weekends still so now in the off-season, but summer, it was HAMMERED. We need a second location. I'm thinking the Culvers on the other end of the Dells. So both main Freeway Exits would be covered. Both Dells Culvers, and Mauston (location...

Tesla's newest Supercharger! Greenfield, Wi! With a Handicap Stall Add-On. We take a look at the additional handle added on to the supercharger's Handicap cable. Another interesting thing to note, the Transformer is the smallest I've seen for a V3 location of this size. It's only a 750kVa...

Not quite Tesla related, but is Semi-Autonomous, My "Smart" Autonomous Suitcase. First off, despite what's out there, yes, these do exist. Why do I say that? These were initially sold on an Indiegogo Campaign. Unfortunately, as MOST Indiegogo Campaigns end up, the vast large majority of...

Creaking/Squeaking control arm ball joint fix

My concern is how runny that grease is. You should have seen an improvement with it, however, that isn't good for long term. Can you attach a video/recording of the noise? Possibly prop the camera/phone on the curb or driveway pointing at the wheels and go back and fourth.

Too bad :-( In the future, also request to keep all old parts. You may keep just about everything if it's a out of pocket repair. They will tell you if there is a core fee. If for no other reason than to open things up and see what failed :-)

Creaking/Squeaking control arm ball joint fix

Yes and No. It's a shame the forum is split into each vehicle style, when so many problems these vehicles have, are clear across the board. It's a shame as useful information or help might be in one vehicle section, however since the vehicle owner doesn't have that vehicle style, might never...

July 2023 and AP1 is still a better driving experience on Interstates than FSDb

AP 1 could/can use either lane lines, or vehicle in front of it to track. AP2 & Up could not be ACTIVATED unless there were lines, but if the lines became unclear or non-present, it would continue by using a tracked vehicle ahead if present. However, now, with advancement of FSD/AP for the newer...

July 2023 and AP1 is still a better driving experience on Interstates than FSDb

As a owner of AP1 MS & FSD HW3 MX, the AP1 MS is astronomically more reliable, confident and predictable than FSD or even HW3 Autopilot in my hands on experience. ESPECIALLY with less than perfect weather, night time, fog, rain, snow, basically anything that isn't clear skies.

    12v Battery life

Pull the first responder loop, disconnect the negative terminal on the battery, wait 10 minutes, reconnect, and error will be gone. Although, this is a good way to stop getting updates if you don't want them, since they won't install with the 12v warning.

    Kman's Tesla Videos

Digging up an old one; did a photo shoot with the VP of the company that makes the Tesla Chiller Unit way back in 2013. Neat device, extremely reliable.
