First time I’ve ever heard any Tesla being a 2024 this year. Last year, the European Model S became a 2023 for about a month before the USA got their first 2023. So there’s hope for those in the US still waiting for a 2024 vin this year.
You can tell them you don’t want to accept this car in person or thru text if Tesla has been contacting you via that route. They don’t care for the reason and will put your order on hold for 2 weeks. You can go online and release that hold within a week and you should get a new vin shortly after...
Reject, and release order hold within a week so you’ll get another vin within a week or two. Just keep track of this vin so they don’t assign you the same vin.
PF428 is a very recent vin so unlikely a reject. 2 days prob cuz we’ve approaching the end of the month so they’re prob working triple OT to push these out for q4.
Good for you! I would have done the same.
Last year when I ordered my S, they told me it would be 2 months for delivery. Right after I ordered, we took off for our 1-month long trip abroad. Within 2 weeks they said the car was ready you need to pick up. They were being a dick about it too so I...
How did you find out your car was at the local Tesla prior to delivery date? Good idea to survey the car for clues that there were previous issues. Other than the vin number of course.
Explains the 422 vin.
After 4 Teslas, I’m less concerned w the cosmetics stuffs as long as they don’t affect functionality. The glass seal might cause increase noise but you’ll prob get used to that. I’m more concerned w water leakage during a big rain storm. But doesn’t look like it’s...
3rd EDD revision for me. Down from 5 to 3 weeks, 12/8-29. Order date was 10/5 for a tax LR version. I timed my order as late as possible for a car by 12/31
He doesn’t have a website. I just PayPal him and left a note saying I want the silver one along w the shipping address. I did it earlier this week and noticed they were shipped yesterday. I’ll be getting them tomorrow.
I asked him and he recommended silver. Even if you plan to use a lowering links and drop your car by an inch. I’m not a suspension expert so maybe it’s better for most people to have a small negative camber. Install shouldn’t be that expensive as it only involves removing a bolt at each corner...
Brand new. He has two versions a silver and a red. I’m getting the silver which should reduce the camber to about -1 which is reasonable. I just sent my payment don’t have it yet.
Tesla software defaults to low ride height to minimize damage to the front CV suspension parts. This was a design flaw that Tesla cannot fix.
Options are Macsboost shims for $250-400. I’m getting mine from this guy named Thadeus Strong from a FB group called Tesla Plaid Performance for $60.
You have pretty significant negative camber (-2) in the rear when low post alignment. That will lead to inner tire wear real fast. Those cannot be adjusted so you’ll need to get some aftermarket shims (cheap option) or camber arms (expensive option).
I reached out to them this morning to confirm everything is ready to go when my vin gets here. And yes as someone already mentioned, it's best to call (301-699-6100). I messaged them and no one responded. After they get the MVPA, they'll wire the money within 24h. Something to keep in mind and...
My app shows a strange 16-digit number (all numeric no alphabets) then quickly revert to the RN that’s always been there. Maybe a VIN is coming.
Had to record on video and paused to see the numbers
Ok so maybe they’re just going back to their past practice. My parents bought their 2024 CRV in August. Porsche also starts building the new model year in July or something.
I sold my YP last month.
If you don’t need your car by the end of 2023 by all means wait for a 2024 vin.
But if you need it by year end unfortunately this year Tesla hasn’t issued any 2024 yet. And some folks who just got a vin today are getting EDD of 12/10-14. Meaning there’s only 10-14...
I traded in my 2022 Y recently for 41,700. KBB said trade in was 41,500 or something. If I input the car as a 2021 model year but same mileage it said 36,500. So for that car the difference was about 5k after 2 years.
This what my accountant said:
“The S corp credit flows to your personal return and is subject to personal AGI limits.
In order to get around the limitations you would have to have a C Corp”
So looks like I have to stick w the LR haha
Are these shims for both the S and the X? My MSP has 10k miles and my tires are almost evenly worn. About 5.5-6.5/32" in the front and 6.5-7/32" in the rear. When brand new, these Michelin AS4 were 8-8.5/32". I'm going to get a set for my new MX but should I get one for my MSP too? The tires...
If you have a business, take the bonus depreciation not section 179. Bonus depreciation is an accelerated business tax deduction. Rather than depreciating a large asset over the course of its lifetime, you write off a large chunk of the purchase price in a single year. From 2017-2022, the bonus...
I spilled a full cup of boba onto the back seats of my model 3 a few years ago while testing some 0-60 times haha. After cleaning, it looked fine. But then I decided to remove the rear seat cushion to check. There were so much liquid that had drained onto the body of the car. There were also...
I think you get an order agreement immediately after ordering the car. I’ve had that since ordering mine. You get a purchase agreement right before or after taking delivery.
You still have 5 weeks until the end of the year and you’ll be at the front of the line when you come back. If you’re planning to keep your car more than 5 years then prob not worth it. But if you’re like me and keep your car 2-3 years I would say yes.
You can put your order on hold only once (vin rejection or vacation hold they don’t care). There is no specific date on when this must be done but obviously before the delivery date range. They will start communicating w you and remind you to schedule your delivery. If you need extra time just...
I laugh when people fight over this. Do what you want and leave everyone alone folks!
I’ll share my experience regarding resale/ trade-in value. I bought a new Tesla MYP at the end of 2021 and got a 2022 model. Last week I was looking to get rid of it to make room for a MX. KBB said the car’s...
