    FSD

I assume you are new to FSD because if you are old enough, it would cost you $15,000. It comes from experience: humans must comply with what Tesla robots want, or they'll be penalized and suspended from their paid feature. If you did not modify the purchase paperwork, it's an arbitration, so...

    FSD Transfer Question

That's the conflict between official written policy and the assurance from salespeople as one thread discussed. One owner was reassured last year that the offer was still good by buying a new inventory. After the sale, they gave the owner the choice to comply with the written policy: Either...

    FSD Transfer Question

Tesla wins if you can beat the deadline: an additional car is sold to fill up the statistics at the end of the quarter. Tesla wins if Tesla is too slow to beat the delivery deadline: If you cancel, it keeps the deposit fee. If you go ahead with the order, you lose your FSD transfer to the new...

    FSD Transfer Question

The time restriction is problematic as we have no control to hurry up the assembly line. Thus, the order date is our responsibility, and meeting the delivery deadline date should be Tesla's responsibility. If it's Tesla's fault for not hurrying up the assembly line to have the car ready by the...

It's a physical upgrade, but its own software needs to catch up with older hardware's capability.

Looking to Purchase New 2024 Model S or Plaid

You got the answers already, what confuses you? Plaid is fast. That quick acceleration is expensive. Expensive car costs more to maintain: a tire for GM Bolt is much cheaper than Plaid's. You see how professional cars on a race track keep changing their tires. It's expected due to quick...

    Autopilot warnings

Welcome to Tesla recall that people insist it should not be called recall. Now you know why it's a Tesla recall because Tesla doesn't fix its Autopilot for the better but just punish the drivers instead.

    First Time EV Buyer (Help...)

I switched to Tesla since 2012 and have been doing fine without ICE all these years. I instantly loved the regen on the first drive. It's intuitive for me with 1-pedal driving. There were only a handful of Superchargers in 2012 so I had to heavily rely on overnight charging while on the road...

2023 X with USS any disadvantage

I am not sure a 2023 Model X still has Ultrasonic Sensors anymore. Tesla discontinued Ultrasonic Sensors on Model 3/Y in the later of 2022 then Model S/X in 2023. Ultrasonic Sensors are still much more accurate than the current Tesla Vision.

Supercharging for “lifetime of car” transfers under the current FSD & Supercharging transfer to new cars

Here are the Terms and Conditions from the website for last year: It could be interpreted that at the time of the Supercharging transfer at the delivery, you must still own the current Free Supercharging, and the VIN was not sold to someone else then.

Supercharging for “lifetime of car” transfers under the current FSD & Supercharging transfer to new cars

There are 2 different promotions before the New Year and the current one. I assumed you belong to the 2023 promotion. Thus, did you fulfill all of its terms and conditions?

    Loaner mileage restriction

That depends on what it says on your loaner contract. I think Enterprise offers unlimited mileage, so if Tesla restricts your mileage, ask for Enterprise next time.

Transfer Tesla Car from my in-law's Tesla account to My own Tesla Account; Will I lose the FSD?

My guess is it depends on what your Motor Vehicle Purchase Agreement says. A standard form would list the FSD feature as "included" or "$0." In that case, the FSD has been fully paid with $0, and Tesla cannot unilaterally take it back (disable it). However, if it's a nonstandard form with an...

    Waymo

Early Tesla TACC was really bad at braking for an empty trailer bed or just stationary car waiting at an intersection. However, by 2018-2019 or so, it has been pretty with those scenarios. It can still sometimes collide in those scenarios but much less.
  18. Tam

    Waymo

You are right that I used the incorrect cruise terminology. I meant Adaptive Cruise Control that's programmed to adjust the speed, including stop and go, to avoid colliding with an obstacle in front.
  19. Tam

    Waymo

It sounds like another aggressive programming similar to Cruise's pedestrians in crosswalk prediction (by accelerating toward the pedestrians, they would be scared and run away from the Cruise's path). In this case, the tow truck ahead was oriented forward, away from Waymo, and the towed pickup...

About to lose it with rats in my Model 3

I did use the ultrasonic rellepant in the past with no success. What works for me is those green cubes. The rats love to eat them and die. But you just have to replenish them because there seem to be unlimited numbers of rats no matter how many got killed. The most effective way is a cat. I...

    Cruise

It sounds like it was programmed to be aggressive at a crosswalk by predicting when this female victim would get out of its path from its right to its left. With that prediction, it kept accelerating but if it was an attentive human driver, that person would notice that the Nissan on its left...

About to lose it with rats in my Model 3

It doesn't matter whether your car is warm or not, rats are still a car problem. A cat is the best. They don't need to eat rats, but its presence would keep them away. Then, of course, you can use traps and poisons (in the form of yummy food for rats).

M3 problem - dies when it is frosty.

Tesla supercharger bay damaged my Model S and Tesla refused to help

Since 2012, because I cannot see what under the front of the car, I always raise the air suspension up high. You might want to switch to a car brand that has a low front camera if you can't raise the suspension up.

Unless Electrek is hiding the words "AFTER" and "SPINNING" in the quote: "Colorado State Patrol Sgt. Can you blame them when the expert Elon Musk said FSD and his people had to correct it as FSD beta?
  33. Tam

Tesla employeed killed in crash involving FSD?

They didn't say anything about the spinning wheels AFTER it stopped. They were talking about "rolling tire marks" that had no evidence of brakings. The marks of rolling is different than brakings at the time of impact. At the time of impact, if the tires we're not rolling, you would see...

Tesla employeed killed in crash involving FSD?

Thanks for the explanation. However, I would caution on the theoretical physics and real-life application. It is pretty much like Elon Musk's physics, which predicts that his tunnel would have a supersonic speed of 700 MPH, but in reality, the current Boring Company has a maximum speed of 40...

Cost to Enable SuperCharging on 2014 MS60?

Workers work with the codes given to them. They don't have the administrative rights to change them.
  36. Tam

Cost to Enable SuperCharging on 2014 MS60?

The explanation from @islandbayy makes much more sense. Your car is detected as 40kw and Tesla wants $12,000 to upgrade to 60kw and supercharging. If that is still not the case due to new policy, Tesla might figure that you might not keep your car that long to spend $12,000 worth of supercharging.
  37. Tam

Anyone with an older S that purchased the Extended Warranty - Trying to determine when it expires

It should say word by word: "Expires Nov 1, 2025 or 100,000 total miles, whichever comes first." You should book up a Service Center appointment to fix what it should say on your phone app, word by word.
  38. Tam

Cost to Enable SuperCharging on 2014 MS60?

Tesla does change prices without advanced notices so I am not surprised. Since you talked to 2 Service Centers already, I think their information is correct. I guess Tesla has finally figured out that they under-priced the option, so an increase from $2,000 10 years ago to $12,000 today is not...

Likelihood of increased accidents due to the stupid horn?

    Elon and Twitter

With the start of selling check marks, imposters did cause a slide in real companies' stock prices. It's not to hard for terrorists to imitate for other reasons and not just on crashing stock prices as long as they still have a few dollars to buy the check marks.

Anyone with an older S that purchased the Extended Warranty - Trying to determine when it expires

You can clear up the confusion by opening your phone app at the bottom: "Specs & Warranty." If you bought your car on Jan. 31, 2017, it should say something like: "Expires Feb 1, 2025 or 1000,000 total miles, whichever comes first."

Looking for opinions on warranty options - XCare

Tesla has been very restrictive on the battery. Broken gaskets, seals, leaks, ocatavalve, heatpump... all can lead to battery failures but those don't count. Everything surrounding the battery must be functioning and the battery fails to retain charge then the battery itself can be covered.

Tesla employeed killed in crash involving FSD?

@AlanSubie4Life & @flutas I am not sure what you disagree with. NHTSA does not require L2 accident reports? TACC alone is below L2 so not a required report? Something else???
  47. Tam

Tesla employeed killed in crash involving FSD?

True. With TACC, the machine controls the speed to almost perfection, but you lose the perfect steering. The steering would leave a tire mark indicating that it's controlled by an imperfect human driver or, even worse, utterly out-of-control with no controls from a machine or human. But you...
