EVSE died after 7years and 23MWh. Low cost dumb EVSE replacement recommendations ?

Should be a Pen Fault detection device rather than an earth rod to meet current wiring regulations. Even if you decide to ignore that, is the PowerWall earth rod near where the car is parked ? and definitely connected to this earth you are using not on some other side of the PowerWall. Be...

    Buying a used M3P

You may be in a position to tolerate a short term increase in tax/reduction in service, but I don't think many other people are at the moment. The current plan is to use a stick to beat any manufacturer who sells less than 22% new EVs, increasing to 80% by 2030. Incentives absolutely do work...

    Buying a used M3P

Norway had an advantage of pretty much limitless money from selling oil to the rest of the world, kinda helps balance the books. Giving incentives absolutely works, however it means less money for other public services or even higher taxes. Giving payments to people who can afford new cars...

    Buying a used M3P

The £165 will apply to all EVs per year, whenever registered. The £355 will only apply to new cars registered after April 2025 between years 2 and 6. Of course, things could change after the election, but I don't think Labour intend to make any changes.

Helvetia (& Tesla?) no longer offering extended warranties

Both cars will advertise to say there is warranty remaining, in one case that would just be the battery but that's really not going to determinable in any adverts for a personal sale. And that assumes you are selling privately, no PX or trade sale is going to consider it.

Helvetia (& Tesla?) no longer offering extended warranties

Which would apply to your car, but not to the majority and I suspect not the OP as since late 2020 the heat pump replaced PTC and cooling for the computer. Even in your situation I would feel that paying some large chunk and hoping a covered component needs replacing while still having lots of...

Helvetia (& Tesla?) no longer offering extended warranties

Why do you think its risky? and what do you think would be covered by an extended warranty anyway? The battery and drive train is covered for 8 years anyway, so you are talking about non wear and tear damage to a pretty narrow range of components.

Odd supercharger routing and -10% arrival on recent trip.

Well I've never seen that in the 5 years I've been driving Tesla, or read anyone else on here ever detail a similar experience where it takes you the opposite direction to the way you are heading. It's you. Imagine you arrived somewhere where you could plug in but had mucked around so you had loads of charge on board at SuperCharger prices. I would normally plan the full trip, there and back, so it knows where you are going next and can pick the optimum places to charge. Planning via the...

    So… Highland is out…

That's a bit on an NRA style excuse. When one brand of car is regularly involved in crime, fires or horrendous accidents pretty consistently then it's fair to suggest that we would be better off without them.

Harry always tries to give an impression that he's very well informed and backs his arguments up with data, until you actually listen to what he says and you realise that his conclusions are simply nonsense. How Secure Are Teslas/Tesla Thefts

In a proper security system you would have both an access key and a duress key, if you are forced to tell the duress key it will lock out mechanism for a long period. 'Massive order backlog' only happened as it was launched in the UK and during pandemic years when new Tesla were still more available than other brands. The rest of the time you've been able to order and either get one from stock or on the next delivery, so you can't really use that as a...

They initially intended for the new S an X to have a yoke, and with that stalks would have been a bit awkward looking so they put controls on the yoke, like an F1 car I guess. The depreciation comes predominantly in the first year of ownership, so to step from an older Tesla into a 1 year old doesn't have the same sting. Plus if you fancy a change a 1 year old of other brands are even more depreciated. Also note that at the moment Tesla don't have an extended...

    2023 Holiday Update

Unless your Churchill policy is worded differently to mine that clause doesn't apply (yet). If it was a self-driving car approved by the Secretary of State for Transport then you would need to keep the software up to date, but as it's not then the section does not apply.

    Tesla Alternative?

I'm pretty much dressed the same now as I was 30 years ago, Jeans and T-Shirt. I don't agree that a car is a fashion accessory either. This a myth that legacy auto want you to believe to keep upgrading to the new shape of bent metal.

    Tesla Alternative?

This is the kind of thinking that leads companies like BMW to keep making their grill bigger, fundamentally their cars are the same but they make incremental, benefit-less changes so that people can tell that this is the new shape car and that one is the old shape. I'm quite happy that is not a...

I think you are apply legacy-auto logic to Tesla, what are you defining as progress ? Other companies will take an existing model and make relatively small bodyshell changes, update the software, and call it an entirely new model. Take the Fiesta being retired for Puma to take over, it's the...
