Model Y - Gigafactory Texas Production

LMAO! There’s a manual hinting at cooling seats!! It’s definitely gonna be on my build or I’m delaying for that. There was also talk about air suspension on the 3/Y. Hasn’t happened. Likely won’t. Did we all forget that the passenger lumbar was removed because ‘it doesn’t get used much and we...

Model Y - Gigafactory Texas Production

Tesla should software limit the range on 4680 Austin produced Y’s to match all existing 2160 Fremont Y’s until current supply is all sold out. Then they should increase the price for increased range and charge a fee to unlock the range for those that already have the range limited 4680. Just...

Model 3 crash on empty highway (AEB involved?)

Of all the speculative titles and threads in this forum, this one is chosen as objectionable? By that logic, most of this forum needs to be rewritten. The work is cut out for you mods.

Model 3 crash on empty highway (AEB involved?)

Seems well within the forum rules. Looks like we need to moderate the moderators.

Model 3 crash on empty highway (AEB involved?)

What was the original title of the thread before a mod decided to change it? Was it in violation of forum rules?

    Auto Pilot Is Dangerous

Does the remote control holder have the ability to steer the car while in summon as well? Can the user steer the car according to the lanes, lines and rules? No. It may be active but it is not complete control. These stories made the news because it’s a new system that is unrefined and because...

    Auto Pilot Is Dangerous

It’s a BETA system given to users with zero training. The reason it hasn’t been proven at fault in those accidents is all liability falls on the driver for a system that is in testing while we are all the lab rats. Sign your life away and agree to abide by a half a**ed manual where ppl have to...

    Auto Pilot Is Dangerous

To the OP, taking your video to the media will have more weight than showing it on a Tesla forum. The public sees, the government listens. For example, smart summon is no longer covered by insurance here because of videos that showed up on the news. Sad to hear of all the deaths by a BETA...

Tesla unmatched the MS I ordered stating no other vehicles available. Help needed.

If the attorney sees merit in pursuing a case (a win against a firm such as Tesla for their books or the client compensating for their time) they will let the client know. The car could be great and have the ability to fly for all I care but an agreement was not fulfilled on one end and that is...

Discussion: Floor Mats in Model 3

I'm glad I waited and didn't order the Taptes. The deal got even better. I just ordered a 3D Maxpider set from costco.ca for $123 Canadian shipped which is like $94 USD I'm not sure if they deliver to the US but it's a great deal if on this side or close to the border.

Tesla unmatched the MS I ordered stating no other vehicles available. Help needed.

I would seek the advice of an attorney. A few hundred for proper advice will go a longer way than forums and if there is a case, it would might be worth your time. They will be able to sift through the small print and your ‘agreement’.

Does the P3D - still exist?

What about the upcoming plaid Model S with three motors? It’s traditionally been battery size, number of motors and if it’s performance or not.

    Unsure of purchase

What’s your daily use like? City, town, highway? How far are your commutes? Have you researched the charging network along your commute? There are online resources to help you with that. If you buy the long range, keep in mind the worse case in those cold temps, you’ll only be able to drive...

    Unsure of purchase

Expect your range to drop to half in a Canadian winter. Factor in that you don’t want to go below 20% or charge above 90%. So that’s even less range to work with. The charging infrastructure is limited up here depending on where you are. You should hope you don’t have to get any replacement...

    Tesla Youtuber trolling ICE cars

That’s not too safe driving around with that hanging off. The trunk wrap and body kit are hideous. I wonder if NOS and Greddy labels are next on his list? You know they each add 20hp....I mean 20 miles range.

Does the P3D - still exist?

I think inconsistent naming and putting on eBay stickers cheapens the brand. The German brands are consistent and I think the Model 3 culture is becoming what was the old Honda Civic F&F culture. To each their own I suppose. Ppls own car and money. On the topic, there are lots of people who...

Does the P3D - still exist?

Have they removed numbering from the X and S now? Dual Motor with a red line beneath for the performance?
  21. T

Does the P3D - still exist?

I don’t know why ppl call it a ‘P3D’ By that logic we should have ‘PXD’ and ‘PSD’ No one thought to call it a P75D like it is? If Tesla squeezes another 5kw in there, they won’t all be equal. Or perform the same.

Discussion: Floor Mats in Model 3

On second look I’ll go for the 3D Maxpiders. There are plenty of positive reviews on here and Costco has them for $170 CDN which is like $125 USD. Original mats that ppl have tried, Costco guarantee, supporting an original vendor are worth the extra for me.

I like that there’s no logo and still great coverage. I’ll order and try them out.

    Small problems. Longevity

Stuff happens. Just take it in and get them to resolve the issues quickly. If they keep happening, use the lemon laws in your area to your advantage if there are any. Extend your 4 year warranty near the end. A new Mercedes I bought was in the shop every two months for 2 years. Once for 6...

    Best Conditioner for Vegan Leather

Vegan leather. Lol. Cracks me up every time I hear that marketing term. The pleather or vinyl, rather, plastic seats can be cleaned with plain ol’ soap and water. Mmmm bacon grease.

    Don't see free 1500km supercharge

If you’re in BC and you just bought a car and have missing supercharger credits, first ask the person who gave you the referral code. Ask if they still have any credits showing on their account. Once Tesla pull credits from the referee (New Vehicle Sales Authority of BC rule), that person...

What gain in Range will I get by shaving 6-7 pounds off the 20'' OEM

The calculation of rotational mass effect on inertia would be quite difficult. Too many variables. Best is to see what type of range people that changed their 20” performance wheels to 18” aeros with the covers off get. Rim only, don’t know the tire weight: 18” 235/45/18 Diameter 26.33” 21.6...

We need an Autopilot Passcode Lock

Simple easy way. Using only one existing code. Choose your toggles. Mix and match Instead of: Safety & Security —- Speed Limit Mode (PIN activated) > on/off Change to: Safety & Security —- Driving Restrictions (PIN activated) > Speed Limit Mode (on/off) > Autosteer BETA (on/off)

We need an Autopilot Passcode Lock

A PIN that works just like the speed limit PIN and sentry mode. Enabled and disabled from the phone or car itself when needed. If I know my 16 year old needs to take my car, I’ll turn it on. Just like I could with the speed limit. Embedded in profiles, possibly. Wouldn’t work for shared keys...

We need an Autopilot Passcode Lock

This was exactly the purpose of the post. I was defending my understanding of the system, which is similar to many out there. It shows human error and won’t be the first time for someone. A BETA system should have the option to be inaccessible until it is officially released.

We need an Autopilot Passcode Lock

That sure contradicts the manual. The bits about cross traffic roads and residential roads. Strange I didn't get this screen at delivery. Definitely would have taken a pic to show other drivers.

A fix to the turn signals remaining active while reversing, instead of three blinks and done. Not new and cool but oh well.

We need an Autopilot Passcode Lock

You should read the manual and waiver that was signed. Please point out Tesla's definition of a highway because I cannot find it. The government has labeled this a highway. Section on Autosteer in the manual: "Autosteer is intended for use only on highways and limited access roads with a...

We need an Autopilot Passcode Lock

These are videos from the summer. Software updates haven't changed a thing. There are a couple lights on this highway. The glitch remains. My hands were on the wheel, the car was slow. The autopilot followed the curved line and veered towards the semi beside me. My quick reaction avoided the...

Battery degradation hidden in energy consumption?

That is not the most accurate way to measure. How much of the 32.483kwh and 24.257 kWh actually remained in your battery? Can you tell just by calculating energy going into the charger and the on screen Tesla numbers? How much of that was diverted to other car processes in disguise? If your...

Battery degradation hidden in energy consumption?

I bought the car in March 2019 and lost about 5-10%, which is reasonable given the driving conditions/habits. The weather in March 2019 was colder than now, April 2019 the same as October 2019. Historical weather data shows that. I don’t buy into the cold weather range loss argument based on...

Battery degradation hidden in energy consumption?

Was this considerable energy expenditure made clear to you during purchase on the website or in person through a Tesla sales associate in store? I was not, so I only realize after the fact through my experience and these forums. Looking at the site today, I do not see any clear literature on...

Battery degradation hidden in energy consumption?

12 degrees celsius. 35 feet above sea level, quite flat commute, 9km/h winds avg. Light rain. Typical Northwest day. Not that cold yet. A 1/3 to half less deviation from the EPA rated 386 km is concerning. Especially for trips with limited charging infrastructure, which some of us have to do...

Battery degradation hidden in energy consumption?

I've been noticing a lot of unaccounted for range loss over recent months. The latest update doesn't help. I'm not a programmer but I believe the degradation may be hidden in the energy consumption, rather than the full charge amount. I've documented my latest trip. This is a regular pattern...

No referral rewards for BC residents now

BC residents are still receiving their bonus kms when they refer someone. It seems Tesla is removing supercharging kms for only those who inquire about their missing or delayed bonus, stating their policy and that they will be auditing BC Tesla owners. Hasn't happened yet. Probably won't...
