Walk me through the design decision for the cybertruck

Probably why I'm in the minority that love the look and ordered two. When watching the reveal, the first thing I said was that it looked like some futuristic vehicle that I would draw as a kid in the late '70s/early '80s. ;) And...your time travel theory might be true because I now have...

Official Thread: Cybertruck (Cybrtrk) Event - Nov 21, 2019

It doesn't crash. It just drives through everything! I'm going to take mine with me to Mars.

Official Thread: Cybertruck (Cybrtrk) Event - Nov 21, 2019

Haha, I love all the outrage. Reminds me of the hate on Apple fan sites when they first announced the iPod. I personally think it looks so absurd that I absolutely love it. I placed two orders for it to replace my Model 3 and Ram 1500. 99% of people might think it's fugly, but I LOVE it...

Tesla V10 software update rollout: post here if you are still waiting

I'm going to drive to the nearest Tesla service center, park in the lot, and then just sleep in my car tonight.

    Service Center Experience.

Thankfully, I've only had to go to the service center once so far, but my experience was great. The people were nice and I was in and out in less than 10 minutes with a Model S loaner. The only negative was that the navigation didn't know how to get completely there and I had to drive around the...

    Degradation stabilized. I’m happy.

Yeah, I have no idea if there's anything I should be reading into my data. The big dip happened after some day where it was 100 degrees and I left the car with someone to chrome delete the window trim and he washed it. I was worried that something happened then that messed up my battery, but...

    Degradation stabilized. I’m happy.

I'm only a little over 3,000 miles in. That big decline from end of May until mid-June had me worried, but it's come back up a lot.

    Latest Price Drop Discussion

I have no issue with Tesla and the price drops, because it all just seem natural to me, though I do wonder if my $11K gamble on EAP+FSD will ever be fully-realized. You can only do so much with software updates, so who knows if they'll eventually find out that to achieve their full FSD vision...

Poll on Model 3 Air Vents

I love the 3's vents. Both sides point to me at all times. I need AC on me even when it's cool out. I have it blowing at my face from the driver's side and then a big cool blast hitting the right side of my body from the passenger's side. Haven't driven the X, but when I had the loaner S, I...

Pros and Cons of Owning a Tesla

Pros: The instant torque and steering responsiveness is insane. I don't even have the performance (I have the discontinued mid-range), but it still feels so damn quick. Had to rent an ICE recently and couldn't stand driving it. Even the loaner Model S I had to drive when I was getting my rear...

    Crack on My Rear Window

When I brought it in, they told me that they had a bunch of the back windows in stock so I guess I just lucked out.

What’s the one thing you like the least about your Model 3?

Single biggest thing is that I'm afraid of is getting hit. Last time I got in an accident was in 1992 and it was when someone ran a red light as I was the 3rd car going through a green. But for some reason, I'm terrified of being hit driving the Model 3. It's not even the most expensive car I've...

    Battery Degradation - This okay?

I charge to 90% and plug in every night at home (have a Tesla wall connector). I have TelsaFi and the Stats app on iPhone. Sentry and Cabin Overheat are both on (but Sentry is off when I'm at home or at work).

    Battery Degradation - This okay?

Since May 28th, TelsaFi is showing a lot of battery degradation. On that date, I left my car with someone for a Chrome Delete and he also had the car washed. The weather also got a lot warmer than this time frame with 4 days 90+ highs where I had 20+ miles phantom drain while parked at work...

Good article on Tesla and panel gaps

I got mine in December and pretty much every single panel gap is noticeably off and the paint is a mess. Still love the car and really only notice these things when I'm washing it or installing something on it. But, really glad that Tesla has apparently improved their process.

What would you like to see added in software updates?

Others have posted most of the ones I want...but something that I didn't see -- ability to make the "fart mode" setting stay on.

    10,000 miles, 10 month in

Bought mine in December, but only started driving it end of April because I wanted to max out the lease miles on the Range Rover. Just 1,513.81 miles in and it's already my most-loved vehicle that I've ever driven. My commute, which was the most stressful thing in my privileged life, is now...

    Front windshield sun shade

I have the one that first posted by Runnergirl and mentioned by others - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CYGJ1TB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - Really like it, but have the same gripe as Scrutmonkey in wishing it was a few inches bigger. It's super easy getting in and...

    Crack on My Rear Window

Got the car back today and was charged the $1,300. Their tech determined it was caused by an impact (it did look like there was a point where the crack spider webbed from and it grew 10x since I noticed it so whatever caused it probably happened within a few days of seeing it). Nevertheless...

PPF vs Ceramic coating - help a noob out

I went with both. My commute during the spring and summer months gets my car smothered with dead bugs and the coating has made washing them off 10x easier. My only regret is that I had it all done before seeing if Tesla would fix the D- paint job, so I have the PPF (on the front) and coating...

    Model 3 spoiler copy

I paid $546.60. It was $997 for the carbon fiber glossy dash, then -$199.40 for their 20% off sale, and then they refunded me $250 once they got my old dash back via FedEx. Probably still pricey, but liked replacing the whole thing more than the idea of wrapping it or putting a cap over the...

    Model 3 spoiler copy

I'm horrible at DIY stuff and I installed the RPM one myself. If you're looking at any of their other stuff, the carbon fiber mirror caps and dashboard replacement are the easiest things I've ever installed myself.

    Vampire drain/losses are high again

I've lost 25-30 while at work the past 3 days, but I have all that stuff on and it's been in the high 90s, it's an open parking lot, and it sits in the sun for 10+ hours while I'm in the office (I do have tinted windows plus a sunshade). When it was cooler and I turned all that stuff off and...

    Crack on My Rear Window

Update: Dropped it off at the San Rafael, CA service center. Was told that a determination of whether it was caused by an impact (not covered by warranty) or something else that may be covered by the warranty can't be made until the technician gets the window off and examines it. If it's not...

What Kind of Car Did The Model 3 Replace?

2016 Range Rover Evoque. Lease expired in April of this year and decided to get the M3 in December because of the full tax credit (though, because of price drops, not knowing to ask for FSD because it wasn't on the website builder, and other things, I probably just could've waited and spent less...

    Crack on My Rear Window

Will find out tomorrow at a Noon... It's been in the high 90s the past few days and the crack now goes up almost the entire back window. :( Just want it fixed. Preferably for free, but if they deem it was because something hit it, I'm fine with paying. I just want to not have to look at it any...

Does Software Update preference > ADVANCED do anything?

I was stuck on 2019.12.1.2 for a while and then decided to pay the $6K for FSD and it then updated to 2019.16.2 later that night. I immediately set it to Advanced, but haven't had any further updates since. It's only been 15 days, though...

    The Real Use for Auto-Pilot

I absolutely love autopilot and also love "driving" the car. The way I see it, my commute isn't what would constitute what anyone would consider fun driving. I cross highway 37 in Northern California daily and it has a stretch where it's just a single lane, so there's always a lot of slowdown on...

    Totaled Tesla =*-(

This makes me so sad. I just noticed a crack on my rear windshield and it bugged me in a way that I didn't think was possible. Crack on My Rear Window

When I saw it, my heart just dropped. Like this car more than I've ever liked anything else without a heartbeat... :p Hopefully yours never has to deal with it. Mine has some massive panel gap and paint issues, so hopefully this is just the last of it.

    Keyfobs are back!

My phone has worked 100% of the time, but considering this for when I have to leave the car with someone. I put some thick carbon fiber over the center console and the key car doesn't work with it. If this works, I may have to get it for the random instances where I leave the car with someone...

Tint the Front Glass Roof vs Tesla Roof Shade?

I just had my side windows tinted and immediately noticed a big difference in how hot my left arm/left side got while driving. Roof Glace replacement. How long did it take?

I just noticed a crack in my rear window and set up an appointment to get it fixed on the 13th. No idea if it'll get fixed then or if I'll go in and they'll just tell me it'll take "x" weeks for the window to arrive... Guess I'll find out in a few days...

    Crack on My Rear Window

When I was washing my car Saturday morning, I noticed a crack on my rear window. I've searched the forums enough to know it's semi common, but this bothers me more than I thought it would. The Range Rover Evoque that I was driving before this was my favorite vehicle that I've ever owned, but...

    Alternatives to oem floor mats

I have the ToughPro ones but have some issues with them, so I ordered the 3D MAXpider ones to give them a shot. Plus, still have the non-all weather oem ones that came with mine. Not sure what I'll do with the ones I end up not using.

How much does your electricity cost?

On my current ETOU-B plan with PG&E, I'm paying $0.21894 when charging after 9PM. When the switch is made to the EV-A plan, it'll be down to $0.12559(summer)/$0.12866(winter) after 11PM. Jealous of those paying < 5 cents. But, gas is $4.29 around here so I'm still expecting to save more than...
