Have you heated your garage with your Tesla?

I plan on getting a mini split later this year, but for now, when the garage is 50 degrees and you need to work in it, I'd like it to be a bit more comfortable so I thought with the car plugged in, I could open the driver and passenger door and crank the heater up. If it won't stay up with the...

Have you heated your garage with your Tesla?

Mine doesn't have the heat pump. Heat pump models started in 2021. Mine is 2019.

Have you heated your garage with your Tesla?

I have fully insulated garage doors, but lately the temps have been dropping to the low 20's and sometimes lower at night. My garage is currently in the low 50's. Not bad considering the outdoor temp and the fact that every time I open the garage to drive in or out, it lets that extreme cold...

    Taping your internal camera

A long while back, Tesla had a thing for autopilot where it would track your eyes by the interior camera. If it noticed you looking down or anywhere but the road (IE, My water bottle fell off my passenger seat and onto the passenger floorboards while in autopilot. I bent over to grab it after...

What will you do with your Cybertruck reservation?

What a way to mis-represent the poll. The poll wasn't asking everyone, "Who's interested in buying". The poll was asking "Of those who have already put in a reservation, how many are keeping it and buying and how many of you are getting out of the reservation or holding onto it apprehensively...

What will you do with your Cybertruck reservation?

The owner jacking the truck up to replace a tire is more likely to damage the batteries than having it towed to a shop on a flat bed where the shop works on these all of the time and knows where to properly jack it up.
  7. M

What will you do with your Cybertruck reservation?

I know I've had some tire shops refuse to change the tires on my M3P for fear of damaging the battery and stating that they didn't think their lifts could properly lift the car. They apparently did have one battery get cracked by an installer in the past.

What will you do with your Cybertruck reservation?

I didn't hear about the no spare. Does the Ford Lightning have a spare? Only reason I can see for that is they don't want people jacking the truck up on the side of the road to change a tire and accidentally puncturing the battery.

    What about a 5th wheel?

While I couldn't find any specs on the depth of the bed front to back etc, take a look at the photos on this page. Especially the first one with the bicycle standing up in the bed. That wheel doesn't look that tall. It looks like the bed depth at the high point is similar to the depth of a...

sails? Are the side walls of the bed really so high that you can't use a 5th wheel?

    What about a 5th wheel?

It just dawned on me... Can you even use a 5th wheel with the CT? Thinking about it's design and the entire bottom being battery packs, I can't imagine it being easy to get to the points you'd need to in order to bolt down a 5th wheel attachment and my searches have found nothing on being able...

What do you think is causing the limited tow capability of the new Cybertruck?

Don't get me wrong, there is a reason for each individual to buy something and they all have their own reasoning. There are definitely people who want a truck for status quo. The F-150 Raptor wouldn't be popular if not for that reason. It has a more performance gear ratio for acceleration...

What do you think is causing the limited tow capability of the new Cybertruck?

Right! I too purchased based on product and not CEO as well. I mean I've seen multiple people re-use the same misspelled word and ignored it so far... "Blatter" doesn't exist. You all mean "Bladder"... I'm not judging their opinion based on a single misspelling. I'm not going to judge a...

What do you think is causing the limited tow capability of the new Cybertruck?

I can't imagine it's good. I know that long range driving at higher speeds hurts battery range dramatically. The freeways where I'm at are average 70mph and traffic averages 75-80mph. If I keep up those speeds, I'd be lucky to get 220 mile range with my M3P. I have a job that's actually...

What do you think is causing the limited tow capability of the new Cybertruck?

Lets say the media was accurate with the reservation count of 2mil reservations. At $100/reservation, that's $200mil. If he advertised more fair numbers, I'd say it's safe to say, he'd prob still have about 1.5m reservations, so he'd lose $50mil of "interest free money". How much money do...

What do you think is causing the limited tow capability of the new Cybertruck?

I think the primary issue is that it's poor business practice and it lets fans and investors down. Think of the stock market. When a company releases expected revenues and they are conservative of what those numbers will be, when they over-deliver, people invest. When a company consistently...

What do you think is causing the limited tow capability of the new Cybertruck?

True enough. They were saying 500+ and not stating it needed an add on battery.

What do you think is causing the limited tow capability of the new Cybertruck?

You laugh, but many people use the same concept for camper shells. They hang them from the ceiling of their garage. Lower them onto the bed and bolt them down when they need it and crank it back to the lid with a winch when they don't.
  23. M

What do you think is causing the limited tow capability of the new Cybertruck?

What do you expect people to do? It's been over promised for years and then under delivered. It goes both ways. People talk about how great the next Tesla product is going to be for years before it's delivered. So you're surprised that people are bashing it for the last 24 hours because the...

What do you think is causing the limited tow capability of the new Cybertruck?

Not a lot we can do without being given any facts and Tesla isn't telling us why it's limited to 11k. Despite them showing off it pulling 40k lbs, they still capped it at 11k, so all we can do is speculate until they share some more insight on it.

    FSD 11.4.7.3 The latest disaster

Try using it in an area you know there is little traffic and rather than grabbing control, let it do what it's going to do and see how it actually performs. There have been times where I had the side seat driver moment where I wanted to grab control, but decided to let it do it's thing and it...
  26. M

What do you think is causing the limited tow capability of the new Cybertruck?

Here is the problem with the video. It shows that a Tesla Truck has the power capable of pulling 40k lbs, yet the specs only say a max of 11k. So there has to be some factor that is limiting it. What's to say that after the CT pulled that load, it wasn't deemed "totaled" because the tow...

What do you think is causing the limited tow capability of the new Cybertruck?

Thanks for the info on that. I could see, if you want the extra bed space sometimes and other times you need the range, having some kind of winch system on the ceiling of your garage where you park it. You hook the winch on and pull it up to the lid of your garage. When you need it, you drop...

What will you do with your Cybertruck reservation?

Looking at the poll results, with over 50% currently saying they are going to cancel, and the fact that reports say there were approx 2mil reservations prior to the information released today for it... that's over a $250mil loss Tesla is taking over the next few days! Stock market gonna drop some.

What do you think is causing the limited tow capability of the new Cybertruck?

After seeing the pricing and actual specs, I have to say, this was a bad crash and burn. The top model can go 0-60 in 2.6 seconds, but that's not what people buy trucks for. So I wanted your thoughts on what potentially went wrong with some of these items. First: Tow capacity. For $100k, I...

Wouldn't that be incredible. But as you pointed out, the best direction for anyone to go in is the path that drives them and stimulates them the most mentally. I love tech. I don't know, nor have an interest in chemicals outside of fun fireworks. As much as I'd love to be a healer, the...

Everyone loves to point at Elon, but Elon is not as incredible as one may think. With that kind of money, I could have done the same thing. Like him, I'm self taught programmer and self taught engineer. I don't have the schooling, nor does he and I can dream big too, but the one thing I lack...

    Merge Cancellation oddities.

The problem with that concept is if you are just leaving a lane as someone else is entering, but you both are into the lane a sliver as you were referring, the car is swerving back into the lane which makes it more likely to impact the vehicle merging in before it engages the brakes. A better...

    FSD 11.4.7.3 The latest disaster

That would once again, reinforce my concept of the G-Force limitation. Unless emergency, slamming on the brakes is the last option. Making an upcoming turn without enough distance, rather than slamming on the brakes, for the least G-Force experience, requires a wider arc turn. Is it smart or...

    FSD 11.4.7.3 The latest disaster

If I had to take a guess, I'd say some of those oddities you are dealing with (Primarily things like wide turns) has to do with G-Force limitations set on FSD. I learned while going up a mountain as well as down, that FSD couldn't handle it even going below the speed limit. While normal city...

Not sure if anyone has run into this before, but I've had it happen on multiple occasions and the result could easily end up with an accident. That said, I can't make sense as to why it would do this... Where I live, the main freeway is only 2 lanes each direction. It's standard (and for the...

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

Since I got my 2019 Model 3 Performance, it's always said that the base range is based on 250w/mile, but when I bought the car, it was supposed to have 310 mile range. In 2020, they changed it to 299 mile range (which is more accurate for 250w/mile) and offered the 18" wheel that jumped it up...

My cross country trip.. Routing seems to be off.

I'm planning a cross country trip from California to Alabama. I think my Portable Charger is dying and I'm looking for a better solution.

Another question.. Does the Wall Charger need to communicate in some way with the vehicle, or does it communicate with the part that's physically plugged in? If I have the wall charger locked up in a solid steel box with only a hole for the cable to come out of, I want to make sure there won't...

I think my Portable Charger is dying and I'm looking for a better solution.

I have a 2019 Model 3 performance that I charge at my restaurant exclusively (a lot cheaper electricity cost than home). Lately, I have to reset my charger 3-5 times before it finally works. I've been getting errors in the car that the charger had a GFI fault (There is no moisture anywhere...

I can’t seem to find a true answer.

So to clarify a few things. First, the electricity usage graph in the vehicle lists "rated" Wh, and it's highlighted at 250. If I go below 250, the line drops below the rated. Above, and it goes above the rated, which is why I was under the impression that 250kwh is the "goal" to get the...

I can’t seem to find a true answer.

I’ve seen some posts that power draw while in park is not calculated in your power usage (IE, using the AC in park etc), but it seems people are saying it is calculated in your kWh used while driving. I’m getting conflicting results on my Tesla, and trying to figure out what the deal is. 2019...

    Seatbelt 'burn-in' on white seats?

As Nocturnal said.. this has nothing to do with Warranty. It has to do with damages that happened while in the possession of their service center. If they hit a wall with your bumper and damaged it, the bumper wouldn't be a warranty repair either. It would be an insurance repair on their part...

    Tankless water heaters are terrible....

It really depends on your application. A homeowner such as myself for example, that rarely uses hot water (take a shower, then I'm gone all day), would benefit greatly from a tankless (gas tankless for me). The gas turns on ONLY when I demand hot water, then turns off as soon as I'm done with...
