I also can unplug my Gen 1 HPWC charge handle on my locked 2017 MS FW v8.1 (2017.28c528869) but the car has to be in energy savings mode ("sleeping"), no key, and no charge port light. After I pull out the handle the charge port door automatically closes.

Good point. That would be the proper way to diagnose the circuit.

A blown fuse in the HPWC can/will show proper voltage. Only a resistance measurement will tell you if it is really blown. I am not saying that it could not be the relay but statistically the fuse has a higher probability.

I also used an infrared thermometer (Fluke 68) besides the FLIR. Anyway...details, we agree it gets really really hot. TIG welding anyone:)

Never have I had the handle get to 170F, even when the ambient temp was 90F.

Ambient around 82F. Handle temp 125F. SOOW cable for 130F-170F (you can guess the hottest spot)!!

I was referring to "pause" ie. "mute". I know for sure the Radio does not stay "paused" all the time but now that you guys mention Slacker does...I will have to recheck. Thought I had the same issues there but maybe not...

Interesting...the Radio (any audio source) coming on automatically when entering the car (not every time BTW), when put on mute on exiting, is definitely new for me with .61. I can not say I remember the fog lights ever coming on unlocking the car but I can not be certain.

.61 brought about a few new bugs for me: Radio does not stay muted on re-entering the car. From time to time when actuating the door hadles with the keyfob the fog lights will come on.

All I want is for the darn lights to stay off and not go to auto every time I get in the car:)

Here is kind of a funny one (FW 1.33.59): While parked I entered an address into the NAV to see time and distance. About a minute or so later I hit cancel navigation.....all doors made an unlocking sound and the passenger door opened. Tried to replicate but could not. Keep you posted....

The retrofit kit depicted by cinergi in my opinion is a good design. Easy to install, good fuse spacing, and hopefully effective in what it is trying to achieve.

Frankly I believe that theory is wrong. There are many reasons for that. Conduction is the main mechanism for heat transfer here. Also the system is enclosed. Now because of that the temp could get high enough to cause a problem....lets see how the new fuses hold up.

Just as an FYI. You can get the new fuses (JJN-200) to work with the original bus bar in the same orientation if you cut away some of the "ribbing" on the inside of the HPWC housing. This gives just enough room for the larger fuse. Also I would place some insulating material (teflon, Kapton...

I would still think one of the internal fuses is "blown". Are you sure you have the new JJN-200 fuses? Turn the breaker off. Open the HPWC and see which ones you have. If they are the old TJN-100 fuses, then more than likely that is the problem. Remove the fuses and measure the resistance. Of...

Same here. Been that way for a while never had any issues until two days ago. A charge from an almost empty bat @80A, the garage being in the high 90F. One of the HPWC fuses blew. Awaiting updated fuses. Maybe next week.

Not sure if this was mentioned yet... Two more changes I noticed are: 1. Google Maps now refreshes the whole display when changing from night to day. 2. Fan speed now responds instantly after selecting. Headlight preferences are still not stored (maybe intentional they always go back to Auto).

Still buzzing. No way this will be a SW fix. Screen or LED driver/power electronics replacement sounds much more plausible.

yobigd20, those numbers are absurd. Not sure if you posted earlier but have you contacted TM tech support or your local service center? It would appear there is more going on here than the "normal" parasitic load we are all seeing.
