I just saw the Modesto thread with the transformer having arrived. Took about 3 months there compared to 6 here. Modesto is less than an hour away and PGE territory as well.

Why can't tesla order the transformer from somewhere else and install it themselves? This is a bit ridiculous. 6+ month wait for a transformer.

You're right it is about 200. 240 is under unrealistic conditions and is a lie by Tesla.

Try calling your local Tesla shop. I found that a lot of parts they sell are much cheaper than available used online.

This is not the best route for anyone that lets a friend or spouse drive their Tesla without being on the policy. Coverage drops dramatically to pennies. $5000 property damage maximum, what a joke. I was seriously considering signing up but I'm glad you posted that link and brought this up.

Tesla should put a little more effort into fixing broken chargers more quickly. The same chargers that were broken at kettleman on the 4th were still broken on the 7th. What surprised me, the 80% limit wasn't suggested or enforced yesterday by the car or app.

Between Harris ranch, kettleman, Bakersfield, and buttonwillow, it was about 70 chargers packed almost the entire day turning a car over every 30-40 minutes. That's a lot of cars.

At this point it is not worth it. Summon and auto park are gimmicks. Auto lane change and navigate on autopilot work to a certain degree but they're not worth the premium over standard auto pilot.

If they let the Sr able Sr+ charge as fast as possible they'll still charge slower than the lr. The cars will sit at the superchargers less which leads to a faster turn around which leads to Tesla having to install less superchargers. Even if it's 10-20% it makes a difference. Another point is...

My GPS has gotten stuck for the second time in a week. It won't update properly and it's stuck at a random location. Is this normal? Last time it fixed itself the next day.

No it's not worth it because you don't get 240 miles most of the time. You're expected to charge to 90% which just so happens to be 220. Sure there will be those cases when you'll charge to 100% for a long ride. But is it enough to justify an extra $1500? Seems like a hard sell.

How about SR or SR+ without FSD. If you don't need the longer range, why spend the extra money? 220 or 240 miles is more than enough. Check plugshare for the charging and super charging situation in your area. FSD can always be added later if you change your mind about that.
