I think they are keeping used car prices artificially high to drive new car sales. I've been tracking features and prices on new vs used 100s for a month now. Used car prices are in some cases same as, or higher than new. And the 17s and 18s don't have free supercharging.

If the car you saw was a red 100D, VIN 248515 for 67k; that vehicle was taken off the site before it sold. My OA told me it was a return that was posted as new, in error. Others reported that the car was returned with damage. I share your pessimism. The unicorn Teslas are very rare.

I'm not sure how Tesla could claim these vehicles are "repaired to Tesla standards" without knowing the nature and extent of the damage. Body or frame damage is quite a different thing than repainting a panel or putting on a new bumper.
