thanks for the information and patience :)

    SuperCharger - North Bay, ON

I've seen the preliminary list, they will have them in more rural areas (New Liskeard is the only one I remember as that is where I want it ;) ) , but, like you say, hopefully they will eventually be compatible with Tesla...They seem to be going in near or at existing Hydro One service centres.

    SuperCharger - North Bay, ON

ok, thanks. do you recommend getting their access card, or has the phone app worked for you? How much is the card/
  7. S

    SuperCharger - North Bay, ON

do you need an app to use them? That seems like quite a side trip just to pick up some sparks, but next year I may not have a choice.

    SuperCharger - North Bay, ON

It doesn't work in that it hasn't worked anywhere I've tried to use it yet - not once. I've tried at the Ivy station in Huntsville, the Tim Hortons in North Bay and the TH in New Liskeard. Tesla logged into my car and re-pushed an update, Tesla Ranger met with me in Barrie a couple weeks ago...

    SuperCharger - North Bay, ON

My disappointment is with the chademo adapter/Tim Hortons in New Liskeard not being the saving grace for trips to visit my parents. THATS what's disappointing, not the lack of SCs exactly where I want them ;) I always knew that getting SCs in the North was going to be a waiting game. But I...

    SuperCharger - North Bay, ON

I would suggest folks go on the Tesla site and recommend New LIskeard/Temiskaming Shores as an SC location. If enough of us suggest it, maybe it will be on the next round...I also visited the Petro Canada site and suggested the same thing. I haven't had any luck with my chademo adapter, and I...

    SuperCharger - North Bay, ON

Sorry, I kind of do blame the drivers. Especially Tesla drivers - we have backup cameras and sensors, and I've found the measurement of gap remaining to be quite accurate. There's no reason we should be backing into things. People are too lazy to get out and have a look and wipe off their...

    SuperCharger - North Bay, ON

yah I was talking to a SC tech, and that's exactly what he said, that northern chargers get backed into a lot more than the southern ones do. They have repaired more than a few...

    SuperCharger - North Bay, ON

has anyone stopped in at the North Bay site to try it out, yet? We've had a few false alarms now, I'd hate for someone to drive up and have it not be operational yet...

    SuperCharger - North Bay, ON

Mid winter isn't really the best time to plan a road trip, tho I like the thought. A tesla just got rear ended on Hwy 11 a couple days ago, near Orillia, due to crap roads and driver inattention.

Which stall did you park at? I was there today, tried two stalls, no juice at either of them. And folks, don't get too excited about the Ivy network chargers yet - I tried the one at Hunstville, and its not compatible with Tesla. Two M3's tried to charge there, no love, but there was a chevy...

Payment in full before seeing car?

I had home delivery, and yes, full payment sight unseen. Was nervous about it, but it all worked out fine. Home Delivery rocks!

    Did you reserve the cyberTruck?

I put in the pre-order, but will likely cancel unless full FSD is out. I'm planning on paying for the truck with robotaxi income... :)

    What App to use ?

I personally would never give access/log in control of my car to any 3rd party app.
  21. S

    SuperCharger - North Bay, ON

prolly just plugged in and walked away without confirming power/charging. I bet they were disappointed when they got back to the car.
  22. S

    am I making a mistake

Yah, they only offer incentives if they need the cash - I wouldn't count on it. It doesn't matter when you buy the car, you'll always have missed something. Tesla is a work in progress and we are all still early adapters - there will always be a new feature or incentive or hardware that you if...

Got the update but how does the departure schedule work?

from what I read, it stops at 6am. Its right in the release notes.
  24. S

no love again today. Sorry didn't see request for stall count til I got home today. Next time I check I will tally them.

    Winter Tire Efficiency

From what I've read, the tweak in range isn't better "fuel efficiency". I believe the only improvement was in the regen capabilities, so now you can regen all the way to a full stop - this accounts, I believe, for the extra energy they are using to increase their range projection. So, when...

Model 3 LR AWD vampire drain in the cold

yup. Normal. Expect 30% loss in the cold. Expect even more loss when it's stupid cold (the -40 you referred to, which I doubt you'll see in Mississauga). You'll lose a bit of range when you put your snow's on as well.

    SuperCharger - North Bay, ON

Don't bank on the Ivy charger - a couple weeks ago during the Huntsville Tesla meet, 2 M3's tried to charge there and were not able to - with a non-Telsa vehicle at the pod beside it charging away happily.

I was by there today, gave it a try. nuttin.

    SuperCharger - North Bay, ON

I don't think it's a an actual plan, but it could be that they send the same crew/tech to flip the final switch and run the tests, so it would make sense they would do it one trip. I'm thinking they will be a day apart.

Tesla Owners Can Edit Maps to Improve Summon Routes

Tesla Owners Can Edit Maps to Improve Summon Routes

it's zoomed in too close for satellite view to show anything but blurred pixels. My property is an acre - this is completely on my property on a gravel driveway. the circle you see is the route it plotted, which went out of the carport, then off the driveway, onto grass, it stopped for a...

Tesla Owners Can Edit Maps to Improve Summon Routes

this did not work for me on my own private property. It literally only had drive straight to me, and this is the route it plotted, after updating a few days ago. I had to unpress to stop it from driving into the ditch.

Tesla Owners Can Edit Maps to Improve Summon Routes

it's not. It's currently necessary for beta version of Smart Summon success. It's just a step. Once FSD is truly a thing, they won't need anyone to map anything. Likely they'll abandon that data source, once they've perfected FSD.

Tesla Owners Can Edit Maps to Improve Summon Routes

if Tesla uses this for summon, would they also use this for AP? Looks like an easier spot to edit bad speed limits, than google maps.

    Canadian CHAdeMO charging

haha bingo, I think. I just tried again today at a different station, same result. Car didn't detect the charger, station didn't detect the car. I just decided that I might have a defective adapter, then I see your post. Now to figure out how I return the sucker and get it replaced...

    Canadian CHAdeMO charging

    Canadian CHAdeMO charging

I just tried to use a chademo adapter for the first time this past weekend. The app seemed to work, the station seemed to work, but the car would not accept a charge. I'm trying to determine if it's the car or a faulty adapter - when i plug it in, pressing the button on the adapter does not...

Blog Tesla Horn to Get Custom Sounds – Goats, Farts, Coconuts

as much as I like the idea of custom sounds - if the point of the car making noise is to alert people that there is a car coming - if it doesn't sound like a car, how will they know there is a car coming? I person about to cross the road who is vision impaired isn't going to know why the hell...
