    Supercharger - Kingston ON

Yes, the top of the battery takes forever to charge. You will likely get to your destination faster by stopping in Cornwall

Supercharger - Kingston, ON (Dalton Ave)

There is a bug in the year end update, it had me charging for 55 minutes at Perth to get to Ottawa, with a journey time of 2 hours.

Does anyone know why Perth is showing as "Reduced Service" - I used it twice yesterday and it seemed to be working well.

    Wall Connector v3 Firmware Update

Ugg. I bought 2 v3 wall connectors for the power sharing feature and now I find out, having installed the first one that I am on Elon time! FFS, I wish this was clearer when you order the thing, I would likely have chosen another solution. Buyer beware :-(

    CCS Adapter for North America

There is no need for a lock, just a place for the charger side connection to latch to. The charger cuts the current when you press the latch release. Not all cars lock the connector for DC charging, but they all latch.

Anyone else dislike the new UI?

This release is a bit of a disaster. I wear progressive lens in my glasses and this redesign really messes the usability for me. The speed number is much smaller and the large info panel with less information (?) moves the map and media details firmly into the distance part of my vision...

    CCS Adapter for North America

Tesla is dominant in the US today, but as with Ford 100 years ago, this will not last. (despite what the fan-bois think) Changing to CCS would allow Tesla owners greater access to charging and also allow Tesla to sell charging to other vendors. European SuperChargers will charge other EVs...

Supercharger - Nepean, ON - Robertson Road

I think Perth was up quickly because Hydro One have gotten their act together and now know how to get these sites installed and approved. Nepean is Hydro Ottawa's first outdoor site, I am sure they are working their way up the learning curve....

Supercharger - Nepean, ON - Robertson Road

CT at Coventry Road already has an Electrify Canada installation so this is an unlikely site for a SC in the future.

Supercharger - Nepean, ON - Robertson Road

It's about 2.5 minutes from the 417 and about 4 minutes from the 416, very similar to Kingston and many other sites. This is not a Cornwall diversion.

Supercharger - Nepean, ON - Robertson Road

Latest rumour from the staff working the Perth install via Facebook points to the Nepean SuperCharger being at the Canadian Tire at Robertson and Moodie and being built soon.

    Supercharger - Perth ON

I drive between Ottawa and Picton on a fairly regular basis, though not as much with CV19. In the summer I will drive direct, usually taking 7 and 15, though I do go through Perth sometimes. In the winter I will stop in K-town for 15 minutes and use the 416 or 15 depending on the weather. One...

No more TOU electricity in ON! Charge whenever you want

I have fully bought into ToU, I charge after 1:30 am and, when I run my AC, I drop the temperature to 21 at 4:30am and then let it come up during the day to 25 or 26. This really limits my AC costs and is good for the environment. I am not going to change my behaviour, but it sucks.

    Non-Tesla EVs in Canada

We have an e-Golf as well as out 3. The e-Golf is a great city car, easier to drive than the 3 and much more maneuverable, the turning circle is tiny and it has really good visibility from the driver's seat. It is nippy, very comfortable, very quiet and very well built. They are starting to...

    Possible location - Renfrew, ON

I did a look-see about a month ago, no signs of any construction at the "site" which I am 99% certain is not the site. I looked at the mall on the other side of the street, again no joy.

    Possible location - Renfrew, ON

It might be at the permit stage, but as of a couple of months ago, there was no permit application with Renfrew. I think this site is a long way off. I am not even sure they have picked a site.

The Cancer that is Phantom Braking

Tesla's quest for self-driving is happening in a world where there AI/Machine learning has brain cancer. The last few versions have introduced new and "interesting" phantom braking issues and the symptoms have spread from Auto-steer to plain cruise control. In my case, I have a Model 3, no...

New Audi e-tron Sportback EV Coming this Summer, still no compassion with a Model Y.

The more choice the better, both versions of the e-Tron are good cars, if you prefer a Tesla, that's fine for you. I suspect less than 50% of car buyer's know how much power their car has or how big their gas tank is. Infrastructure is where the rubber hits the road and this is where Tesla shines.

    Premium Connectivity in Canada

I use the premium features on road trips and sometimes to google things around town. $15 is far too expensive for my use. Knowing a bit about how much big accounts pay for mobile data, Tesla are making out like bandits on the deal. It's a shame, for $5 a month, Tesla would still be making...

    Supercharger - Brockville, ON

I think this is highly unlikely, Canadian Tire has been very proud of their locations and if they had Tesla at this site too, they would be boasting about it.

    Ottawa superchargers are closed

Without the normal traffic you would need to post guards at the entrances to keep out the local population. Given that not one car is charging at any of the other SCs in the area, closing this site seems utterly reasonable. Being upset about this closure like complaining that you can't get...

    Ottawa superchargers are closed

    Ottawa superchargers are closed

Roger, you are not impacted by this closure, the country is in crisis, Tesla drivers are seen by many as entitled and you are certainly adding to that. The SC is one of a large number of chargers in Ottawa that are still operational and Casselman is not far away, this has no impact. With the...

    Ottawa superchargers are closed

Please don't contact the press, please don't complain, please remember that we are not entitled Audi drivers. Closing the SC in Ottawa is a small inconvenience in a worldwide catastrophe. We should all be staying home anyway. If you are downtown and are in need of a charge there are lots of...

    SR+ regrets

I added it using the App, you select the option under upgrades, pay your $450 and a few seconds later you have heated rear seats. I think your car needs to be connected to Wi-Fi to get the update.

    SR+ regrets

I have an SR+ in Ottawa and have no regrets. Two features I wanted at the time - advanced connectivity and heated rear seats have now been added so I could not be happier. I went to Austin for Fully Charged Live, a 7000 km road trip in winter with no issues. I could have done the trip a few...

Auto Wipers on 2020.4.1 - Not working at all?

I think removing the stalk controls at the same time plays to this too. If there was a stalk, I would be back to a car with working manual wipers and this would be less of an issue. Using the screen to control the wipers is a pain and unsafe as you really need this when AP has given up due to...

Auto Wipers on 2020.4.1 - Not working at all?

My car was built in June 2019. I have had other cars with auto wipers over the last 10 years, my e-Golf has a great system, works well all the time. Tesla's approach to auto wipers seems to be flawed - the cameras are not able to see the rain in all lighting conditions and poorly done, if you...

Auto Wipers on 2020.4.1 - Not working at all?

I have just returned to Ontario on a long road trip. I upgraded to 2020.4.1 in New Orleans and headed back to Ottawa the the next day. Over the 3 day trip I encountered precipitation of all types, from warm drizzle through tropical thunderstorms. Moving north we had just rain, then wet snow...
