Cant remember, but there was a software update, maybe 3 back that broke my dashcam/sentrymode. Now I recently got 2020.20.1 and still not working. Not recognizing any drives... 2017 TMS 75D MCU1 AP2.5.

But why arent Tesla approving the Model S for towing? What is the real issue here? I would really love to tow with my MS. And I cant buy the M3 with tow hitch as I need the boot space in MS for my dogs. And I think it`s not an option to trade in and buy a MX. Why leave out MS on the towing...

Are there any technical reason for the Model S not to be able to tow a trailer when both Model 3 and Model X can? Anyone know?

So for US market, towing with MS is not a legal issue, just a warrenty issue up against Tesla? I didnt know that - so thanks. Here in Norway it is a lega issue. If you dont have the towing capacity in your cars certificate, its not legal. If you get pulle over, you get a ticket and a driving...

Did this one have trailer lights aswell? What are the consequences of hauling a trailer with Models S if you get pulled over by cops in US? Here in Norway everyone knows its not allowed for a MS to tow, so it would really catch the attention from cops if one did.

But what is actually the issue with certifying the existing cars when new have it? I recon all the crash testing is all done, so just paper work? Or regulative difficulties? For the MS, would there be any technical issues for it to not be able to tow?

So do you guys think that Tesla will certify MS for towing one day aswell? It would easily handel at least the same specs as for the M3! So why wouldnt they? I bet it would really boost the MS sale if they did!

This is why I would recon that Tesla should approve earlier produced M3 for towing aswell, so these owners can get a tow bar retrofitted. I have heard that Tesla needs to certify these vehicles for tow bar since the new ones that comes with an optional tow bar are approved on a different number...

I don’tknow about the US, but in Norway you can now order a Model 3 with a factory fitted tow bar approved for towing 2000 lb (910kg). It’s an option in the configurator. Only available for the LR with dual motor.

Now with the towing approval for Model 3, would Tesla consider to approve Model S for towing aswell? I guess they might approve the earlier Model 3 production vehicles for it aswell. Alot of Model 3 owners that would love to have a towing hitch.
