    P3 brake suppliers in Canada?

My P3 is due for some brakes. Are there any good Canadian suppliers for OE (or equivalent) pads and rotors, or do people just stick with dealer parts? Don't need any performance upgrades but also don't want cheap low quality parts.

I need advice on dealing with an accident in Canada.

I noticed your question wasn't answered, so here goes: This is normal in Canada. Your insurance will cover the repairs to your car and then recover the cost from the other person's insurance. If they don't have insurance, most policies in Canada come with uninsured driver coverage, so you're...

Importing Model S USA to Canada

I've been looking at a recent Model S and the US stock is nearly the same price as here. After the extra fees it'll probably come out to the same price. Doesn't seem worth it unless you find a great deal.

Is purchasing an inventory car that is in another province possible?

Ottawa folks can order from Montreal stock according to the SA here, since we're so close they'll still transfer it. The general policy is no transfers, but if you have a good service centre like we do here they can still do it.

Upgrade from Model Y to Model S Worth IT?

I'm surprised that this actually worked for you. I test-drove the Lucid and the lane-keeping functionality barely worked in clear daylight. Even the sales rep that was in the car with me told me not to rely on it and that while it would provide some assistance, it wouldn't fully keep the car in...

+1 to this... when I bought my 3 I actually got a great trade deal for my Mazda. Now I'm trying to move up to an S and got quoted CAD$36k (US$26k) for a 2020 P3! They really don't want to sell me an S...

To buy or not to buy

I'm strongly debating this now as well. I don't care about HW4 because I don't care about FSD. However I've been watching the inventory for the last week since this has been announced and it's barely dwindling. In fact, they seem to keep adding more and more cars, at ever so slightly lower...

    Going from a S to a 3

I'm looking at making the opposite move. Having driven the S, the biggest compromises I immediately noticed going back to the 3 after the test drive: - The interior is nowhere near as nice. Less sound insulation, less luxurious materials, more basic layout. - Less range, less storage - Sound...

    Tire puncture repair - Ottawa

CT Carling - this location specifically. I literally just had a puncture repair done there today. Highly recommend, the service manager has been doing the race tech inspections for most of the MCO members in the city for well over a decade and has done a lot of great work for me over the years.

    Ottawa full-rear window tint?

Can anyone recommend a shop in Ottawa that will do a full rear window tint with a 20% ceramic film? Winter Tires and Rims - Canadian Availability

I have to disagree with this one - I found the Hakka to be one of the best wearing winter tires. I managed 5 winters on my last set before they hit the wear bars, and performance didn't really start to drop until that last winter.

Winter Tires and Rims - Canadian Availability

+1 for Hakka. It eclipses the x-ice and the blizzaks, both of which I found reduce in performance significantly after the first winter. Make sure it's the R3 version.

    Tesla-sourced Winter Tires vs Third-party

    > out of curiosity, I also check for Nokian tires, and they don't seem to have winter tires that matches Tesla model 3 specs... Which specs are you talking about? I have a set of 235/45/18s right here beside me, exactly the same size as the OEM tire. Weight restrictions still have a ton of...

    Tesla-sourced Winter Tires vs Third-party

This is not terrible for OEM alloys, but it's not an option for those on the Performance package. Pirellis are not bad, I've had a set before, but there are many versions of that tire and the ones pictured are not the 3s, I'd check what you're actually getting. For the same price, a top end...

    Tesla-sourced Winter Tires vs Third-party

I got a set of Fast EV-01+ wheels and Nokian Hakka R3 tires, new TPMS (Autel MX), mounted/balanced and new lugs for under $3k taxes in. As far as I'm concerned that's the holy grail setup for winter driving. There's no reason you should be paying over $5k after taxes.

    OEM lugs with aftermarket wheels?

Can someone confirm if OEM lugs are safe to use with aftermarket wheels? My understanding is that they indeed have a 60 degree tapered seat which is what most aftermarket wheels require. Asking as local tire shop is trying to upsell me on a winter tire package, and while I know they have a...

The biggest difference is around the edges. Vlad tucks in more edges under the seams, and the ones that aren't tucked in are super clean. The corners are also cleaner, as is any line where things need to be cut freehand. Most of all though I was impressed with his level of knowledge and service...
  32. TheWulf

    PPF Ottawa Area

I've seen both. Goldwing is "good". Vlad is "great". Prices reflect what you get in terms of workmanship, and service. The product is the same. If you can afford it, go with Vlad. If you can't, Goldwing will serve you just fine.
  33. TheWulf

    PPF Ottawa Area

Goldwing is decent. I've seen their job on a Model S and it was pretty good. I've also seen some of their hand-cut work on a Porsche and it was pretty bad. Apparently the Teslas are easier to work on since the panels are a lot simpler. Still recommend Vlad over all the alternatives if quality...

I'd make my choice based on the installer more than the film. I checked out 3-4 different installers, and the quality of the work vastly differs. No more TOU electricity in ON! Charge whenever you want

Definitely situation-dependant. For me, I started working from home in March, which means A/C on all day, more cooking at home. Is my bill higher than it was a few months ago? Yes, but I'm also using more energy, and it would be even higher with TOU.
  36. TheWulf

No more TOU electricity in ON! Charge whenever you want

The charging portion will increase, but the overall bill should still be lower, especially if you're running A/C during the day or cooking / running the dryer before 7pm.

    Trade-In Values Plummet

Definitely shop around, but most new car dealers (including Tesla) use the exact same valuation process: they call up an auction house, send photos and a description, and wait for bids to come back. The price you get will vary based on demand that day at whichever auction house your dealer...

Horn replacement - standard horns and relays?

Looking at the Tesla EPC site, it does not seem that the horns have the standard 12V spade connectors. https://epc.tesla.com/#/systemGroups/47350 It does look similar to the "GERMAN DT06-25" plug described on Hella's site. If anyone can confirm that would be fantastic.

Horn replacement - standard horns and relays?

Has anyone replaced their horn with an aftermarket one? I find the stock ones to be a bit too quiet to get noticed. I've had Hella Supertones in the past and I found them to be excellent. Premium Connectivity in Canada

Ok I see the difference now. It was noted as time limited in the configurator page, but not in the popup/details view. I can see how that would be confusing. Curious to see what, if anything, Tesla will do about it.
