I had HomeLink installed after delivery and they were able to do it remotely. It took a little over an hour.

Just picked up my M3 a few hours ago. Process was really smooth. Haven't found any defects and I've been smiling the whole time.

There's no way to tell, but you can ask support. I just finished a chat session and asked about mine. VIN series: 356XXX and it's HW V3.

Woo hoo! VIN showed up in source yesterday and today I get the text to schedule my appointment! Scheduled for next Wednesday at 10 AM (I know, I know still need to get confirmation from the local team).

I'm not sure what triggers the steps to making your final payment, etc. but it's not when a VIN is assigned. I was assigned a VIN a couple weeks ago (before it disappeared), and it didn't enable final payment or reveal my MVPA in my account.

This is really similar to the experience I've had while waiting. Got the "Your Model 3 is in transit..." text, set up a date and saw a VIN appear in my account. They they moved the date up a few days and the VIN disappeared along with my delivery date. I've been waiting ever since. Ugh.
