    Lack of Superchargers in Utah

According to tesla's site, there are stations "coming soon" in provo, ogden and park city. The park city has been coming soon for 3 years I think, and just today there was a post talking about nothing at all happening there. There is however a brand new charger in Burley, ID so there might be a...

    Airbag light...tripometer

That sounds very much like a failing emmc to me. Hopefully they order the daughterboard now so unlike me, they won't need to keep your car for 3 weeks waiting for it to come in. Have you got a text from them confirming your service appt? I would suggest that you reply and ask them to order the...

    Airbag light...tripometer

Are you having any other mcu oddities? Takes a long time to boot or random reboots? I just had my emmc replaced. It would reboot every time I clicked on the trip icon. Also when I tried to access Spotify. I seem to recall my airbag light acting funny too. I haven't had my 12v replaced so I...

How do I schedule service in the app?????

As far as I know, the only number that is ever answered is the emergency roadside number. Do you have a different number where a person answers? My local service center has a number but it is answered by a computer and hasn't had a human behind the receiver for over a year. Last time I tried...

What's the expert's opinion on how to handle a hydroplaning Model S AWD at highway speeds?

For snow and ice I would turn off the regen. Up to you on the heavy rain, but I wouldn't worry about it.

What's the expert's opinion on how to handle a hydroplaning Model S AWD at highway speeds?

For what it's worth, and your mileage may vary, and my experience only, and others have different opinions..... I've hydroplaned plenty of times, but not in my S yet. My instant and immediate response has always been to let go of the gas but not to apply brakes. Seems to me that just the act of...

    Supercharger - Burley, ID

Quick update. They all appear to be working! This will make the haul between Tremonton and Twin much easier! Now I don't need to charge to over 90% to make it. For those of us with the older 85 and smaller batteries this stop is great!

Vendor Scan My Tesla, a CANBUS reader for Android

I have the same issue with the Bluetooth adapter, also android. I drilled out the top corner of my cubby so that the adapter sits inside it and is accessible to unplug and plug back in. I tried a lot of things and the only thing that seemed to work was to unplug it.

    Charging interrupted... High temp error

Sounds like Tesla. You haven't yet tempered your expectations. A reply to an email in less than 3 weeks? Not going to happen. A customer service rep to answer your phone call? Not a chance. They still can't afford to hire back all the customer service people they let go of a year ago. You...

Delivery coming up, help me get ready?

#1 Totally agree! You put down the deposit on a car advertised as a 90kw car. If it was an 85 I would definitely walk. #2 That is tricky! Range was either 288 or 294 (non-P) depending on the year. You should be able to figure out the year by looking at the sticker. Turn the wheels all the...

Delivery coming up, help me get ready?

So exciting Fragger! Congrats! It's going to be a super fun day. My experience: They let me inspect my car before signing. I don't think that they suggested otherwise, but if they insist you buy it before you get to inspect it, just walk away. I believe that they dropped the deposit to $100...

    What does mean?

I have a P85D, non-ludicrous with sub zero and mine also says no battery performance on my build page. I assume that it means either non-ludicrous, or just one more stupid glitch from Tesla constantly changing everything.
  18. Geek190

[!= Ludicrous Mode, MVPA generated] - Should I walk away?

I'm on the same page as ostrichsak. Somebody paid $10,000 to Tesla for that ludicrous option. They have become so unethical and greasy (I typed greedy, but decided to leave the autocorrect anyway) in how they deal with customers. It's too bad. I LOVE my car. I HATE the company.

Tesla YANKED FSD option without notice - Class Action lawsuit? Any Lawyers here? [Resolved]

You might very well be right. Perhaps Tesla's dysfunction and timing came together in a terrible way, and it looks much more malicious than it actually was. I sure do feel that there have been quite a lot of instances where because Tesla is so dysfunctional, and because their communication is...

Tesla YANKED FSD option without notice - Class Action lawsuit? Any Lawyers here? [Resolved]

I don't think that your assumption that the software changes were made while Tesla owned the car and were later pushed to the car, are any better an assumption than they made the change after transfer of ownership and pushed it through immediately. You are giving Tesla the benefit of the doubt...

    Recalibrating the battery

A couple of months back when I took the car in for service, I complained to the service advisor that my range was slowly dropping. I told him that I'd recently tried running it down to 1%, back to 100%, down to 5%, back to 100%, and then down to a reasonable 80ish%. I told him that it made no...

    Recalibrating the battery

Do you have tmspy or Scan My Tesla? That's going to tell you if you've been voltage capped or not. I also believe that the rebalancing act that Tesla service says to do is a run-around to get you to leave.

I saw that car the other day on the local classifieds. 2015 Tesla Model S P85D http://www.ksl.com/auto/listing/6218159 It doesn't say that the car has a 100kW pack, just the badging. Also, is there such a thing as ludicrous plus? I have insane and insane+, but I haven't heard of Ludi+

Purchasing a buyback/lemon - great deal or total disaster?

I don't think I would go for that car with the branded title, at least not at that price point. I would recommend bumping your price up to $35k which opens up lots of possibilities - if you can. I know that you wanted to pay cash and be done with it, but you're probably going to be much happier...

    Battery charging arguments

I'm not really disputing you. I'm simply pointing out that.... Tesla has repeatedly said keep the car plugged in. Elon said: Not worth going below 80% imo. Even 90% is still fine. Also, no issue going to 5% or lower SoC. — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) December 1, 2018

Need some help/advice from all you experts!

I believe it to be the case, although I'm not positive, that if the car has a salvage title, then Tesla won't let you supercharge unless they recertify it. I'm not sure what the cost is to have them certify it safe. Can anyone confirm if this is the case?

You can find them for about 30k, but it's going to be older with high miles and possibly without autopilot. What super charging rate do you get?

I 100% agree. Regen is a mild annoyance. The charging speed reduction is awful. I make a run to Boise from salt lake once a month. I have 2 stops on the way to charge. Used to be about 1:10 combined. Now it's an hour + at each stop, and that is just enough to get to the next stop with 5%. Add...

What super charging rate do you get?

Yep Fully aware of batterygate and voltage capping as well as chargegate with reduced charging speed. Still waiting for someone to coin the regengate term for the regen capping that has also been implemented. I don't believe I've been voltage capped, but my charging rates including regen have...

Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

I never saw anybody address these questions (might have missed it) but I kind of wondered the same. The cell voltage at as close to 100% as I can charge is very different from 1 minute later unplugged. Is it normal then to see it go from 4.195 to 4.150 as soon as it's unplugged? Is it really...

What super charging rate do you get?

I have found a very consistent 100 - 110 combined SoC + charge rate, assuming my pack isn't cold. By that I mean, if my State of Charge is 30%, I will usually get 70 - 80 kw charge rate. If my SoC is 70, I will get 30 - 40 kw. It has been much worse this winter in the cold, typically getting 80...

Tesla YANKED FSD option without notice - Class Action lawsuit? Any Lawyers here? [Resolved]

The maddening thing that keeps being brought up, is the sentiment that if EAP and FSD weren't paid for when the 3rd party or op bought the car, then that's buyer beware, and Tesla has a loophole in which they are possibly not totally in the wrong. Let's be clear here. Tesla was paid for these...

No more free unlimited supercharging for some used Tesla vehicles

I believe that the slower supercharging has become pretty widespread. Even some of the model 3's are experiencing it. It also doesn't always seem to have a direct correlation to the amount of supercharging. It appears that there are some who supercharge 90% of the time that still charge fairly...

I know you didn't ask me, but if my battery had full capacity - no voltage limitation - and could charge to a reasonable amount, but could not get past 30mph, then no. I would expect that there was something wrong with the drive units. Maybe wiring or a fuse, but I wouldn't think degraded...

Is MCU 2 the most important feature when shopping for a used Tesla?

I would say battery size / condition is the biggest thing. I personally don't think we'll see self driving, fully autonomous cars in the next decade, so HW3 isn't as big a deal for me. I agree with ucmndd. Range is huge. If you drive lot (like I do) then charging speed also becomes important.

Tesla YANKED FSD option without notice - Class Action lawsuit? Any Lawyers here? [Resolved]

On post #52 of this thread, OP Said So I understood that he was buying this car not on assumptions but on assurances. I fully agree that his only recourse would be through the 3rd party dealer. It's unfortunate for the end user and this is really hurting Tesla's brand. It's completely...

Tesla YANKED FSD option without notice - Class Action lawsuit? Any Lawyers here? [Resolved]

I'm taking the OP at his word as far as the timeline and order of events. I have no idea how Tesla represented the car at auction. Only Tesla and the 3rd party dealer know that. OP says that (correct me if I'm wrong) the dealer advertised it as with FSD and EAP, and that the car had those...

    2020.4

Yes, I have about 50% regen. However, in the past couple of months in the cold weather without preheating the cabin I would usually have full regen within 20 minutes of driving, even at lower temps. With preheating the cabin for 10 minutes I would sometimes have almost full regen. Still a small...
