Supercharger - Fort Myers, FL - Gulf Coast Main Street

Confirmed open today. I’d post a picture of a car charging. If I knew how!

Sense Photonics brings its new LIDAR to market

I fully expect in 2-3 years I’ll need to trade in my M3 for a new Model 4 or 5 with LIDAR to really get my FSD to work.

Hit a Few Plastic Barrels, Pay Half Your Car's Value

Check out this story from a Porsche. Not too dissimilar. Someone cut me off! Here's how much it cost to repair my Porsche 718 Boxster | The Torque Report

Seems like FSD is a complete crock

Funny how I could get the impression that it’s FSD since the website says specifically still that I would be buying “Full Self Driving Capability”. And that is a direct quote.

Seems like FSD is a complete crock

I kinda don’t mind waiting for the software to improve. I am concerned that the “other shoe” drops in 2 years when they say that the current camera-sensor set isn’t sufficient after all and you’d need to purchase a new car to really get FSD.

Seems like FSD is a complete crock

So do you regret the overall purchase?

Seems like FSD is a complete crock

Given the level of non-trust with the company, I wonder next if they're gonna come back and say: I have always loved the "Really" at the end of the summons bullet. I feel like every bullet should have that at the end. When the feature on that bullet actually works of course.

Seems like FSD is a complete crock

It is very much for me as a prospective buyer as a measure of trust with the company. I don't mind being sold some sizzle but I don't want to sold a bill of goods. My impression when hearing about FSD is that the car could soon go off in the mall, drop me off at the door, find a parking space...

Seems like FSD is a complete crock

Haha. It’s not clear to me what side is the fantasy and unicorn side. I am much more confident the corvette will operate as anticipated from day one. The tesla is a much more practical day to day car (I think). I’m reluctant to drive my Porsche in certain situations. Too many my wife would...

Seems like FSD is a complete crock

I work for Amazon. It’s a big problem if it’s a day late. As it should be. Tesla take note.

Seems like FSD is a complete crock

No one has driven one. And my dealers said they’ll all be presold with zero opportunities to test drive. No 7 day returns either!

Seems like FSD is a complete crock

The 2020 mid engine corvette is the other option under consideration. That seems pretty perfect too. Except for the interior; seems a bit ugly to me.

Seems like FSD is a complete crock

Maybe I’m looking to buy the car 2 years too early for what I want.

Poor Model 3 Delivery Experience (photos + video inside)

I guess I don’t understand why you accepted delivery in the first place. Several of these are pretty bad. The wood in particular. I would also like to see an image of #2.

    Very helpful. More!

Seems like FSD is a complete crock

Does the car even autopark? Does adaptive cruise control work well or phantom break a lot? I don’t care much about the car. I have cars. I want the tech Elon is selling. I think he’s duped me into wanting this thing.

Seems like FSD is a complete crock

You seem to be the only guy really singing its praises. And you do post very often. Thank you for that. Most everybody else is a lot less positive on it.

Seems like FSD is a complete crock

Based on the other threads here it seems like FSD is a complete lie. Crazy unexpected braking, can’t autopark, wanders over the road towards the center line, runs straight into stationary objects be it a simple traffic barrel or the side of a tractor trailer. Am I getting the wrong impression...

Tesla Customer Service is a Black Hole

Wouldn’t we have heard stories to that effect?

Tesla Customer Service is a Black Hole

It is true they have to follow up. They should have time. They’re not wasting it answering the phones.

2013 Tesla Model S Part Out Parts For Sale

Was this a worthwhile exercise? Should I be in the Tesla parts business?
  22. S

Tesla Customer Service is a Black Hole

I’m beginning to think it’s like Steve Jobs once famously said: You’re holding it wrong. Tesla clearly doesn’t want to take in random phone calls. It’s generally inefficient to have to talk to a bunch of ‘old ladies’ who are trying to be reassured and/or explain something complicated that only...

Delivery shennanigans & terrible customer service

I don’t see any reason why people need to be so mean. OP expressed how he felt about the interaction and has every right to vote with his wallet. And he’ll do so no matter how much online criticism you give him. Good companies - especially luxury ones - know that making the customer feel good...

    Latest Price Drop Discussion

The problem with Tesla is that the Model 3 is TOO GOOD. It’s siphoning sales off the Model S which is needed for profitability. The tech is better, the performance similar, the price 40% lower. No way Tesla becomes profitable until the S and X are refreshed. Or until the 3 reaches massive scale...

    Prices just Dropped

Might mean that profit numbers for Q2 are going to come in pretty good so they have some ability to take a small price drop. Think it’s too early in the quarter to know how demand is going.

    Zero Inventory

Still zero in both Florida and Maryland. I thought it would be easy to buy post-quarterly rush.

Help, One Electrician Wanted To Charge $1500

My electrician wants $3600 to pull 100’ line through the interior of a condo building.

    Zero Inventory

Impressive if they sold everything they had to sell.

    Zero Inventory

There’s zero inventory in the 2 zip code areas I’m looking at (DC and Florida). They couldn’t possibly have sold everything. Could they? Or are they just giving the staff a break?

    FSD With Purchase Or Wait

Does FSD support self parking right now? If so, isn't that worth some portion of the purchase price? Assuming it actually works.

How much power drains while parked

Is cabin overheat protection necessary if you leave it outside? I plan to leave mine for 6-8 weeks at a time.

Model 3 price reduction to come?

All of a sudden it seems like there is a ton of inventory popping up. 12 near me in DC. Last couple weeks it was zero. Demand may not be so high. Will be interesting to see if they clear out over the next few days.

Model Y Aims to Be Tesla's Real Mass Market Hit

It does seem to fit the pattern put on Elon where the next product will be the one that makes the company work. No no no, not Q2, Q3. No no no, not 2019 but 2020

Condo Garage - any concern about fires

That’s fascinating. Never knew parked ICE cars just caught fire. Got anything on Porsche Boxsters?
  36. S

Condo Garage - any concern about fires

I’m more concerned about the reports of the non-charging ones that just seem to combust.

Condo Garage - any concern about fires

I live in a condo with a private garage and I leave for up to 2 months at a time. Is anyone concerned about the model 3 being a fire hazard? Would hate to burn down a 15 unit building when I’m out of town.
