    Battery degradation in cold

No, the 2 lots I've used (BWI The Parking Spot and the now-defunct Pre-Flight Parking) have 120V outlets and don't charge a fee to use them. I guess they figure the cost of keeping your battery topped up is minimal and is a good way to attract EV customers. I was surprised at how many spaces...

    Battery degradation in cold

I had the opposite type of temperature battery drain at the airport. Summertime, and I mistakenly had left cabin overheat protection enabled (plus Sentry). I now know where this lot has the EV parking spots with 120V outlets for all my future trips. So, my wintertime tip would be: find and use...

    Seasucker trunk anchor?

According to SeaSucker, the anchor plate is 1/8" thick.

Precious Cargo: Securing bike inside vs. out

Carrying one bike, I just fold down the seats and put it in the back. I'm 6'4" and one of my requirements in a new car was to be able to put a bike in it without taking off the front wheel. I did get a neoprene bumper mat to protect the car while loading/unloading. It also makes a nice seat...

    Seasucker trunk anchor?

This is the thing being discussed: https://www.seasucker.com/collections/security/products/cable-anchor-trunk I'd give them a call and ask how thick the anchor plate is to see if it will fit the gap in the trunk/body seam. I've considered it, but haven't committed yet for 2 reasons: 1. My car...

Maryland Car Owners: Did a flat repair kit come with your car?

shop.tesla.com, that was where I purchased the inflator (aka "Model S/X/3 Tire Repair Kit"). Seemed the best starting point for reimbursement.

Maryland Car Owners: Did a flat repair kit come with your car?

In an online discussion, I saw another Maryland Tesla owner mention that his car came with the flat repair/inflator (the one on in the Tesla store) *as required by law.* I didn't get one, and I don't think anyone at the service center/showroom was aware it should have been included. I did some...

Seasucker placement on Model S with full glass roof(no sunroof)?

I'm doing #2. I had to move the rack and wheel suckers forward though since I've added a wrap to the car and that would be a bad combo with the suckers. Now the wheel mounts are on the hatch glass. I don't have too many problems with visibility. Only once have I forgotten there was a bike on the...

    2019.36.2.1

I have a 2019 S pre-raven and got burned by the scheduled departure. I figured, "Nice, I don't have to do the math to figure out when to start the charge before my trip tomorrow." So I set the departure time, the car tells me it will start charging at 2:15am for a 6:30am departure. I'm getting...

    Supercharger - Frederick, MD

Thanks for the photos. 30 minute general parking? Aren't the chargers in a somewhat isolated area, like you'd chew up 10-15 minutes just walking to your destination? They must be anticipating a huge holiday shopping rush. Probably wishful thinking on their part, or a gesture to appease the ICE...

    USB C connector

Mine fits. I ordered the kit with the USB C cable since a kind soul at the SC gave me the bag for the Model 3 with the micro USB and Lightning cables. All 3 heads look the same and fit the dock in the center console. I didn't need the USB C, but I wanted to be ready for my next phone and not...

    Supercharger - Frederick, MD

Apologies for going off-topic, but this is too odd a coincidence. I had to go from Frederick to Harleysville for an overnight, then back to Frederick. Probably too late for you, but PA Turnpike to Rt 222 into the York, PA supercharger (at a Sheetz). Then Rt 30W to RT15S into Frederick. PA...

V10 keeps "Saving" profiles - why?

It appears to also save the heated seat setting too. I noticed this past weekend that even when I turned off the seat heater at the end of my trip (I was probably in Easy Entry mode at the time), it came back on again the next time I drove the car. Not really behavior I want to see.

Anyone use CoolVu to tint their Model 3?

Haven’t seen any scratches, but it doesn’t get any abuse from kids or dogs, so I wouldn’t expect to see any. For the most part, I can easily forget it’s there. The only time I notice it is when the sun is at a certain angle and I’m headed directly into it. Then I see a haze that looks like the...

Entry & Exit into Model S

I'm 6' 4" and mostly legs. I found this way works for me too. As for Easy Entry, I had to find a compromise setting. If I move the seat all the way back, the B pillar gets in the way. Add to that my 5'1" wife wasn't able to reach the brake pedal to activate her profile, and so I needed to have...

    Supercharger - Frederick, MD

Saw some work at the site this morning, but didn't get a chance to stop and check it out. It looked more like groundskeeping and general cleanup. No sign of the much-awaited pedestals. But, any activity is better than nothing, right?

He made the post in 2013, and it was probably accurate at the time. Thanks for providing updated info.

    Windshield Washer Fluid Voume?

Haven't seen any specs for the Tesla, but I'm glad to hear it takes a gallon+. I had a 15-year old Mercedes that held over a gallon. It was always nice that I didn't have to deal with a gallon jug of washer fluid with 4 ounces left that wouldn't fit. I was hoping the Tesla was the same.

Fey fobs not found for 2019.32 security update

I had the same problem with only one fob a few updates ago. Basically, the update (car update, not fob update) caused the car to lose pairing with the fob. The only way to do a re-pairing was with a mobile tech visit. Scheduled it, got the appointment for 3 days later. Tech initially warned me...

    Supercharger - Frederick, MD

Thread creep. Maybe start a new topic so this one isn't hijacked? It's not like there aren't a few hundred others talking about range; there's only one about the Frederick superchargers.

Anyone use CoolVu to tint their Model 3?

I had AP do my MS about a month ago. I was originally looking for Photosync but, as you know, they were moving to CoolVu. So far, it looks fine and does a good job of reducing cabin heat and keeping me from feeling like a baked potato. I wanted a transitional film for better visibility at night...

NOA sent me the opposite Interstate direction (pic)

I used to live in Suwanee (yes, it's spelled with a U) and spaghetti junction was always a pain even with a conventional nav system. I had an MB E320 and even with an up-to-date nav DVD it would always give me the wrong instructions; "take the second exit" instead of the first, for example. Even...

Fuse Box Diagrams - Model S. - 12 V Center Console Outlet Fuse Location

Great doc and helpful video. Two things though; you said the interior fuse box is on the driver's side kickplate, but the photos and video show the passenger side location. Step 4 & 5: the sequence is replace the fuse, replace the trim, test the circuit. I can tell you from my outstandingly bad...

    What's in 2019.20.4.3?

So far the only thing I've found is now the car doesn't recognize my keyfob. Doesn't respond to proximity, click, placing it on the windshield or below the 12V accessory socket. Tried a new battery but that didn't work. My wife's fob works and fortunately I can use the phone app. Did all the...

Pic request: Show me your roof racks/bike racks

I looked at the Tesla rack. Even though it's made by Yakima, none of my current bike mounts will fit it (I've been using their round bar rack since the 80's but had to upgrade bike mounts twice). I looked at the torklift option too. I even searched for bumper/hatchback racks. Running the...

    What's in 2019.20.4.3?

My car nagged me this morning about an update. I was already on 20.4.2 so I checked around to see if anyone had posted any info about what this update could be. I decided to be brave and ran the update. No new release notes; the displayed notes are for 20.4.2 with the introduction of Beach Buggy...

    Supercharger - Frederick, MD

Glad I stumbled across this thread. I've been wondering where the supercharger(s) were going to be. Even better that they've finally started work on them!
