Other person opening our car trunk accidentally

Or perhaps your car wasn't actually locked? For example, walk away lock was turned off, or there was another phone left in the car keeping it unlocked.

Today it stopped detecting hand on wheel

Thanks, I hadn't noticed the distinction between the messages. There has been a "Cabin Camera unavailable" message popping up occasionally for months but it goes away quickly and until now hadn't seemed important. So with luck Mobile Service can fix that and both problems will go away.

Today it stopped detecting hand on wheel

I hadn't thought of that. When I went to try that just now, the problem didn't happen. Would the car going into a deep sleep mode change anything? (Two simple resets did't fix it.)

Today it stopped detecting hand on wheel

I drove for about an hour this morning with FSD beta some of the time and it was working well. A couple of hours later I drove back and when I tried to enable FSD I immediately got a double chime, a message ("Pay Attention") and the display had the blue flashing warning -- exactly as happens if...

    401 Session Expired

I've had this problem 3 times in the last 5 days. Powering off the phone and powering back on cleared the problem. This is with a Moto-E running Android 10. My partner's older Moto-something running Android 7 did not have the problem. However, I think the difference is that I have Encrypt.me...

Love the Model 3, but the auto-dimming brights feature doesn't work

I find they are usually OK except when it's completely dark when they refuse to come on bright. When driving through a heavily wooded area I have to remember to turn the feature off beforehand so I can keep them bright.

Door handle getting a little sticky

I've seen that once in a while, and more so recently (I assumed it was because of the weather).

    Forward and reverse

That reminded me of something that happened to me a soon after getting the car. I was trying out the Traffic Aware Cruise Control downtown and came to red light. (This was before auto-hold mode, so I braked of course.) While waiting for the light I thought I'd turn off TACC, with the stalk...

    v11 software update SUCKS

That is incredibly useful, thank you. Why couldn't Tesla explain how to use its features I wonder.

    v11 software update SUCKS

Unless you're dumb (not stupid, dumb), have laryngitis, have to get everyone else in the car to shut up while you say the commend, happen to have cell connectivity at the time, don't have an accent it doesn't underdstand, ...

    Poll on V11 interface

Absolutely! Those are the kind of things that can be buried in menus because they aren't needed (probably shouldn't be used!) while driving. Having them quickly accessible while others aren't makes about as much sense as putting the cup holders outside of the car.

    v11 software update SUCKS

So that's how you do it! Thanks. I couldn't see how to get out of dashcam viewer; my awkward workaround was to bring up something else from the icons and then swipe it downwards.

    Poll on V11 interface

Maybe this update was supposed to be delivered on 1st April?

    Poll on V11 interface

Frankly I am appalled with V11. The blind spot camera is good, though I think it would have been better if the left camera was shown on the left of the screen and the right camera on the right side of the screen. Other than that, I see no benefits and a lot of serious problems by the increased...

    V11 questions

One disadvantage of the removal of the wiper button was that previously the passenger could set it on intermittent or full, something that cannot be done with the stalk. Voice commands, if you remember them correctly, are fine if you have connectivity which isn't always the case.

Warning to take control immediately when I was not using AP

I find there are some places where this happens frequently. There is one bend in the road that triggers it about 1 time in 10 I think. The first time or two it's a bit alarming, then one gets used to it.

Enhanced Visualization Controls [april fools post]

I just received update 2021.4.19(AF) which comes with enhanced visualization controls. To activate the features described below use Controls > Driving > Visualization Controls(Beta). When stopped, touch the front part of the car image to select Drive, touch the rear part to select Reverse...

Germany Rules on Using Tesla Screen Wiper Controls

I think the idea of double tapping or triple tapping the stalk is a good idea. Voice commands don't work if you lose connectivity, right? So that's not always an alternative.

Depending on whose phone the car detects first, will it select the associated driver profile?

That sounds like it would be really annoying if the passenger gets in first; surely it would set it (incorrectly) to the passenger's settings.

Caution: Driving while firmware is updating

Does anyone know what the mechanics of an update are? I couldn't find anything on it. I would assume that a software update consists of 3 to 5 phases: 1. Downloading the firmware into flash. 2. Reading it back to make sure it was written correctly. 3. Rebooting the system. Based on some...

    Is it a Froot?

I was watching a video of a Model-3 in the UK, and it got me wondering. In North America, that place where the engine would be in most cars(!) we call a Front Trunk, but often a "Frunk". So, in the UK call the front boot a "froot"? Or what? Richard
