Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I think US is where you'd see this. We still have ZERO CT delivery so far in Canada AFAIK, and the big news here, for me at least is that they included Canada into the plan.

Come to think of it... I believe they were parts related to 48v architecture. But the timeline was going into 24. And unless Tesla is looking to stockpile 48v components, it didn't make too much sense given Gen 3 is not going into production until 25.

I've been giving some thought lately as to what's going on with TSLA and piecing together from the information I'm getting. So, a while back, a close buddy of mine worked at one of Tesla's suppliers and he/she got into TSLA after seeing the orders that TSLA was placing with them. He/she has...

So many comments on reasons to HODL. Please people, where are the buyers?! I’m in today for another 475 shares. Who’s with me?

Not sure if related, but if Project Redwood has anything to do with Redwood Material, the only association that I can make is for an EV priced at or below 25k is the fact that the battery pack and the car itself would be highly recyclable. Beyond what we already know regarding production...

I can’t say that I’m not a bit disappointed that we no longer have the 500 miles variant. Well, with the range extender is close, but it would be so cool to have it. With that said though, I’d really hope that Tesla come up with something creative with the extender packs. The way I see it...

Talking about CT design decisions, I managed to capture this pic today. One can clearly see the matrix pattern of the light bar, something I don't think I've seen people taking notice. I wonder if it's used for some sort of KITT-like indicator once the FSD is achieved.

I went to Tesla Sales/SC in Langley, BC today to see the CT IRL. I gotta say... for those who hasn't seen it yet, pictures or videos online do not do justice to that beast. It's absolutely sick! Cannot wait for Tesla to start delivering CT. It's going to be the most influential truck in my...

Did anyone get a screenshot of the Cybertruck Day 1 order page in Canada?

It was in USD. That was a global page. The only part that changed is when you click on put down a deposit and it'd bring you to the local page with the appropriate currency.

Curious why Tesla penalizes Canadians more than other manufacturers?

Pricing is a very delicate issue in business. So, it's sometimes irrelevant to discuss it. As an international enterprise, Tesla hedges its currency bet to a certain extent to normalize its price. This way, it doesn't matter how the currency is moving, it can maintain a relatively stable...

Car being written off... FSD transfer possible?

Tesla ran a promo last Q for FSD transfer if you were getting a new vehicle. Nevertheless, the program is no longer in place. So I'm not sure if it's still something they are able to do. You could try calling your local Tesla and see what they say, but unfortunately, the timing is not great.

I just want to comment on the Sweden union thing. From the information I was reading, I don't think Tesla would concede. There's no law that dictates businesses must have union workers. And I do not think Tesla would want to set a precedent for other countries to follow. Thus, unless the union...

IMO, I've always liked the way Tesla ER was delivered. No BS, no wishful thinking and always as little surprise as possible. Economy downturn is not a matter of "if", but rather "when". In the history of economics, we have never ever achieved soft landing. It puzzles me that we keep using...

I've officially gone Plaid today! Picked this baby up today. HW4 all around, FSD transferred from my M3 and with the updated matrix headlight too. While there, there was another Model S Plaid delivered and at least 5 Ys. The main thing I think it's worth mentioning in this particular thread...

Filling my support for Q3 P&D. Totally psyched. Can't believe 1000+ HP and a 10sec 1/4miles car can be had for this little.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

It's very interesting to see how V12 is approaching FSD. It sounds, at least from what Elon was saying, the jump from V11 to V12 similar to what Alphabet's DeepMind did to their AlphaGo. AlphaGo is the famous NN program that beat Lee Sedol in the game of GO. It went on to beat every other top...

I just want to add my $0.02 given the latest developments. First, I am going to take advantage of the the FSD transfer offer and upgrade my M3 to MY, that's my contribution for Q3. :D Had to sell some shares to finance it today as the financing makes very little sense in the short term. And...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I’m just adding my 0.02 about the CT mileage. The mileage of any EV is an equation of motor/drivetrain efficiency, aerodynamic, battery size and body weight. From the specs announced in semi, I think some of the core drivetrain technology is going to be dumb down and incorporated into the...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

The way I invest in TSLA is quite simple. Don't ever be forced to sell (margin call) and don't ever hesitate to take some profit if there's something else better in life than TSLA. And most importantly... BUY THE DIP! How they apply to me: I minimize my leverage, especially in time like this...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

The problem with generating energy off site is that the cost of paying electrical wires, especially those needed for high voltage are extremely expensive. It makes sense to be connected to the grid in areas where existing infrastructure are already in place. But not everywhere you can find...

Just wanted to share my 0.02 on the recent news of GM joining. TBH, the financial implication to TSLA remains to be seen (I'd touch on this later), but as a Tesla driver, I think this is a huge plus. The idea is simple... before Ford and GM joined, Tesla could only build SC sites taking into...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I think the reasoning is quite simple. Tesla will not not be the largest carmaker one day, but also the largest charging network operator. With technologies and products like solar panels, battery storage and autobidder, the opportunity for revenues from charging stations would be huge (Cue...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I think today marks the day similar to the day Warners announced that it was going with Blu-ray as the next Gen format. With Tesla (no.1 ev maker in the USA ) and Ford (no.2 ev maker in us), other manufacturers who plans to sell evs in North America will basically have to adapt nacs as...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I just digested through the while ER, and I wanted to share my $0.02. Just like how I previously have said, the main idea is scale. Building new factories takes time. Setting up logistics takes time. Scaling up on current productions takes time. But be greedy when others are fearful. Given...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I read some of the members here discussing about supply, demand and price. There’s an inherent correlation between the 3, but they are not completely relational. This is something people need to remember. Supply is how much the supplier, Tesla in this case, can supply at any give supply and...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I have been reading a lot of fuzz about Tesla's needs for ads. The more I think about it, the less it makes sense. Don't get me wrong, I am actually in the camp of Tesla doing some informercial to promote EV and killing some FUDs. However, I don't think ads are an effective way to spend money...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

For those not fluent in Spanish, I will try to give a summary. It's an interview with Nuevo Leon's governor to discuss the behind the scene and/or reasons why Tesla decided to put a Giga there. He went on to discuss that Tesla had formed the decision back in November. With that decision, he...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I think they basically laid out what's going to happen in the future. Gigas in the future would take a much smaller footprint but also bringing the production of the whole thing, from battery cells to the final car under one roof. Given that they can do so much within so little space, Gigas in...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

As I was expecting, Tesla went all in with "how" to achieve their vision. And I think it's a bit more than that too. We got the see what the future looks like and the absolutely mind-bonking scale and TAM that Tesla is going into. And it truly shows the First Principle Thinking that Elon and...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

My take on investors day is more about the “how” to reach 20m vehicles scale rather than announcing any new model unless such model will be ready to go pronto. The idea is simple, if they announce a brand new model that’s going to cost less, for consumers who are on a budget and for whom the...

In regards for how the whole billing and stuff would take place, my bet is on the QR code for each stall. Remember when Elon said "Copy WeChat"? Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Just want to add my opinion after hearing the earning call. I believe this is a prime example of “be greedy when others are fearful”. As Tesla becomes the only (at least in volume) player growing in the tough macro condition, it marks the point where Tesla said as recession develop, so will...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Come to think of it, it almost seems that Tesla were a bit underwhelmed by the IRS proposed limit for IRA. The IRS thought it has all figured out how to benefit Tesla as little as possible with its guidelines. With only GM complaining about its Lyriq, which IMO was more of a show. Then Tesla...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I honestly didn't see the price drop as a surprise at all. Elon has already hinted that Master Plan 3 is about scaling. How exactly do you sell a $66,000-$70,000 vehicles with 5%+ interest rate while continuing to expand manufacturing capacity? You don't. The idea is simple. As Tesla...

I was listening to Joe Rogan's podcast where he interviewed Peter Zeihan Now, I don't know much about Peter Zeihan but listening through the podcast, I can tell that he isn't an EV supporter. And he based his belief in one point: we don't have enough resources to build what's needed and...

For anyone here worrying about TSLA lately... I suggest to watch this video. It's a talk given by the legendary investor Peter Lynch. After watching it, think about what's going on with TSLA and let's discuss again. I see far too many posts here worrying about TSLA based on nothing but...

Again, all these things you suggested can’t happen just because Elon makes a decision. It’s just not a great time asking people to drop...

I haven't posted in a long while and just want to share my 0.02 and maybe vent out a bit. Does it suck to see 60% of my TSLA holding evaporate? Sure. But really... it's the economy that we are in. And more than anything, it's on ourselves to not sell everything at the peak of the market...

    Elon & Twitter

Elon should announce moving Twitter HQ to Texas, problem solved. He doesn't need all the extreme liberals in CA to find a competitive workforce. This way, he can find more right-minded workers and be close to Texas. And before anyone say SV has more abundance of suitable candidates, I have to...

Now that twitter purchase seems a done deal, I just want to share my $0.02 as a TSLA shareholder. The purchase, although not exactly the most popular thing among here is super significant. Think of how and why Jeff Bezos bought WaPo, it’s all about narrative influence. With Elon at helm att...

Official Tesla CCS1 adaptor now available in Canada.

It definitely seems to be the case. My 2019 Model 3 didn't have the CCS support from factory either. But I've recently DIY'd the retrofit to enable CCS and when sign in on the product page it says "This accessory fits your 2019 Model 3"
