    Supercharger - Dunedin & Nelson

Two new Supercharger sites, Dunedin and Nelson have popped up in the South Island today with a target of Q3 2024. Interestingly, at the time of this post, Dunedin is still an option to vote for on the "Vote for a Supercharger" poll. Dunedin: Nelson:

Third party chargers are now in the navigation as of the 2024.2.x update!

It doesn't seem to be including all third party chargers but it's definitely a good start! Great for those of us in the South Island who can't rely on the navigating to a Supercharger trick to get the car to precondition for other chargers.

It seems New Zealand and Australia will have the least restrictive Autopilot in the world

Europe has had restrictions on Autopilot for some time now, with limits on how much it can turn and for EAP/FSD it has longer time outs between changing lanes and distance limits on summon. Thankfully, we've never had these restrictions here. Now the US is getting restrictions with more...

    Supercharger - Blenheim

Finally, a new site for the South Island! This is in addition to Kaikoura, so once it's completed, all Tesla's should be able to get from Dunedin to Cape Reinga using just Superchargers. This Blenheim site will also have 3 ChargeNet Hyperchargers which can charge 6 EVs, so it's a bit of a...

Tesla is advertising for FSD testers in New Zealand!

Based on these two job adverts in Auckland and Christchurch, it looks like Tesla is looking to start validating FSD for New Zealand (and maybe RHD in general) https://www.tesla.com/en_NZ/careers/search/job/vehicle-operator-test-driver--202582...

    Supercharger - Bulls

I think the Supercharging site drought is officially over. Bulls has just appeared on the map today! Given that the other recent sites that have popped up on the map have started construction not long after, that opening date is likely a good indication of when it will be available.

    Supercharger - Paraparaumu (Nearing completion)

As with the Rotorua site, someone has posted a photo this week in the Owners Club group showing that 3 V3 stalls at the Paraparaumu Supercharger site are now installed. It shouldn't be long until this site comes online.

    Supercharger - Rotorua (near completion)

Looks like the Supercharger in Rotorua is nearing completion! A photo was posted on the Owners Club group today showing 6 V3 stalls installed at the Rotorua central mall, not far from the current 300kW Chargenet chargers.

    Potential new Supercharger site: Woodville

Tararua council is considering a "commercial proposal" for EV chargers in Woodville There's no mention of Tesla but it seems like it's Tesla related based on them being 250kW (ChargeNet is 350kW) and 6 stalls (V3 chargers are done in sets of three).

What are you Aussies getting for cellular speeds in your cars?

If you go to Fast.com in the browser in your car, what speed are you getting? Since Tesla NZ seems to be a subsidy of Tesla Australia, our cars get Telstra SIMs that roam on our NZ carriers. It seems the connection has a custom APN as visiting the likes of Netflix shows the Australian library...

Cabin camera now being used after updating to 24.6

I was curious after the latest Model Y ANCAP tests that mentioned that they were impressed that the car used the internal camera for driver monitoring incase a phone is being used. While the update notes for those of us being migrated to Tesla Vision with 20.9/24.6 don't mention this detail...

    Supercharger - Kaikōura

Finally, more Superchargers on the South Island on a critical route! The title for the Supercharger says Blenheim but the map points to Kaikoura so we'll have to see where it ends up being. Either option is useful

Supercharger - New Plymouth, New Zealand

New Plymouth is now on the map! Which is great because that part of the North Island has been a bit dry with DC chargers. I imagine this will be V3 site.

    Supercharger - Hawkes Bay

Tesla has update the 2021 Supercharger map and in that includes a new Hawkes Bay location (currently positioned in Napier) for Q4 2021. I'd take that date with a grain of salt but, it's good to that area getting one!

Anyone else getting the Enhanced Autopilot Upgrade?

Since it's only available until Sep 30, has anyone else decided to go for the middle ground option and get EAP over FSD?

Why in 2020 do New Zealand and Australia have to order accessories like it's the 80s/90s?

I apologize, this is a bit of a rant but it's a bit frustrating that New Zealand and Australia (and probably other markets outside of North America/Europe) have no means to order accessories from an online store. From Tesla. The company making cars of the future. Instead, we're given a PDF that...

    Indicator stalk unresponsive since 2020.8.1

Has anyone else noticed that their indicator stalk sometimes just doesn't do anything since 2020.8.1? For me I've only noticed the problem when I want to indicate right. I'll flick it up and sometimes nothing happens, it can take a few attempts to get it to activate at this point. It's made me...

Does Autopilot (non-FSD) slow down for corners?

In the US, does Autopilot slow down for you when it approaches a corner or does it just take the corner at the speed you have it currently set to? I've seen videos of people showing their Model 3 appearing to assess the corner and slow down for it and I'm not sure if that's because it's EAP or...

Self dipping headlights should be next inline for neural net smarts

I've only had my Model 3 for a couple weeks now but I'm ready to declare the self dipping headlights more of an annoyance than a feature. It seems that if I'm not approaching the oncoming car directly then the car rarely dips the headlights for them. I'm sure it probably would eventually dip...

Tesla needs some New Zealand service expansion

Currently the earliest service appointment one can get in Auckland is end of February. I think it's time to expand the service department here in Auckland...

    Navigation speech impediment?

Does anyone else's Model 3 seem like it's missing some letters from the words it's pronouncing? Like instead of "three" it sounds more like "tree". I've also noticed that instead of saying "state highway one" it simply says "one".

    Supercharger - Wellington

It looks like the site for the Wellington supercharger has been decided and shouldn't be far off! http://investoreproperty.co.nz/documents/Investore_Property_Limited_Interim_Report_HY20_131119.pdf The TL;DR summary is that they're being installed at Countdown Johnsonville

I've heard rumours that this has been delayed. Anyone know what might be happening with it?

Any NZ Tesla owners outside of Auckland?

Currently I live in Auckland so this isn't exactly an issue for me right now but I'm not sure how permanent that will be. I plan on getting a Model 3 in the next few months (waiting to see what's happening with the governments EV subsidy plans) but am wondering, what happens if you don't live...
