Just got a reply from Tesla; I can expect my car late August/1st week of September. They say the delay is due to transportation issues, not production - as I "could see on my iPhone app, the car is already produced". Still a couple of months driving before winter tires needs to replace the 21"...

I had remote access yesterday to my car using the US iPhone App. Honked the horn, flashed the lights, and opened the pano roof :) Location was the factory at Fremont, so looks like its not on a boat for Europe yet.

I believe the OP is talking about popularity measured by time, not by volume. Like the Porche 911 - which is a popular legend, but not for the mass market. I might be wrong, though. :)

The price increase on the air suspension and 21" wheels also makes sense to do now, as it will allow Tesla to rise the prise for the coming Model X. I bet Model X will have air suspension as stantard feature, and maybe also 21" wheels.

+1 I would not have any doubts. All people I know that are waiting for their S (except 1), have ordered black. Soooo boring. The red is just fantastic. Saw it live in Geneva in April.

I agree with you, that improved range is definately something to consider. However; what is the main reason for this improvement? I would assume it's the tires (Michelin's) and not the rest of the perf+ package, and those tires are standard for the 21" rims in Europe. I may be at fault here...

Interesting. I'm torn in the view whether I 'need' the Perf+ package or not. Would you say the package first and foremost is made for racing on the tracks? I will never drive my S on any tracks and need more info before I make a decision. My last day for making a decision is today (European...

For Europe, the package does not include the mentioned tire upgrade to Michelin Pilot Sport, as these are standard in Europe on the 21" rims. The rear wheels are wider, though.

Did he elaborate on that? Would love some more detailed info. Especially if they have done some tests with/without perf+, and could give us some results, numbers, whatever. Not just words..

When I asked on the phone spesifically about the price, telling Tesla that I thought the price of €6600 was extreme when it did not include upgrade to 21" rims, the answer was that it was expensive partly due to high developement cost..

That is what Tesla are telling on the phone and by mail for the moment. Apparently the message from Musk is that there are an error on the US web that will be fixed. The latter part I have not seen in writing, though... It's interesting if Tesla (once again) is treating the US and EU customers...

+1 on the overpriced part. Could it be a mistake? NOK 36.700,- (USD 6500,-) for upgraded suspension? Seriously? (I assume the approx 1" wider rim and tire has very low extra cost)

Sorry, I was not clear: The Perf+ package does not include the upgrade from 19" to 21". This upgrade has to be ordered for being able to purchase the Perf+ package.

New info: their 'fix' seem to be that the Perf+ package do not include upgrade to 21" rims, only upgrade to the Michelin tires. Did you receive any info in your mail from Elon stating otherwise?

The main reason for this, given by Tesla, is to avoid tax in EU. This tax does not apply in Norway, so unless there are other (technical?) reasons for shipping this way, a RoRo would be fine for Norway shipments. Consistent with the info mentioned above about Norwegian shipments of fully...

During the visit to Norway, a friend of mine had a long chat with Elon, and 3rd party API came up. Elon gave the impression that they planned releasing this already this autumn. I guess we just have to wait and see :)

Really disappointing that Sig holders need to pay for the upgrade to 21" rims that are the major cost in the Perf+ package.

But they ARE included in the Signatures. For me, its a dealbreaker for the P+ having to pay for the wheels again. Unless I get double set of wheels ;)

Tesla could add extra heating in the roof, equal to the ones on the rear window. Most of the roof is glass anyway, so it should be no problem in doing so. If connected to the pre-heating system, this could solve the frost/snow/ice problem entirely.

There are 2different matters when we're discussing the falcon wing doors: - The design - The functionality If tou like the design or not is more of a question of taste than anything else. I did not like the doors first, but have grown to get used to them, and seeing the car myself at the Geneva...

Elon said in Norway in march that they would start producing the EU models in June. In that case a delivery before June 21st needs to be with airfreight.

EU Sig 437 finalized and sent in paperworks March 22nd. Got Aug/Sept timeframe as well. Info from Tesla says they have given Jul/Aug timeframe to approx the first half of the Sigs, and Aug/Sept to the second half. I got the impression that this was to try to make sure that they did not...
