Finally! Free Unlimited Super Charging FUSC can be transferred

I'm very tempted to take advantage of the FUSC offer but I'm still on the fence. I love reading others' rationale and thoughts on their own situations. Feel free to weigh in with your opinions on mine :) I have a 2015 MS P85D, 88K miles, AP convenience features (AP1), MCU2, with SC01. I also...

Just got into an accident. How’s it look?

Probably not totaled. $20K-$30K repair though. Brace yourself for an extremely long repair time without your car. I had a similar repair take around 6 months.

    2017 Model S Phone Dock

It's basically just a short USB A to lightning cable with right-angle ends. Unfortunately, the wireless option is no longer available in the Tesla shop. I wonder why they discontinued it?

    Model X Winter Tires

Narrower tires are generally better in snow. As long as they can support the weight rating of the X. I also loved my X-Ice 3's on my other cars. I just wore out my Pirelli snows on the X this past season so I'll be looking next year. Interested to hear how it works out for you.

    Transferrable Supercharging?

No, I purchased the SC01 car privately so I never saw that contract. The SC05 was offered as a temporary incentive and my MVPA for that car has no mention of FUSC anywhere in it. Looks like @StoicKiwi said their SC01 MVPA does not mention it either. So all I am saying is when I sell my car with...

    Transferrable Supercharging?

We have the data. On this forum alone there probably have been hundreds of ownership transfers of SC01 and SC05 cars. With few exceptions SC01 transfers. I have done it personally. I am not a lawyer but if it's not stated in the MVPA and that is the only legal contract then you're out of luck...

Tesla Model S - Tire Size question

Why not buy a used set of 19s on marketplace/craigslist/ebay? I see them often for under $800 and usually with tires. Everyone loves the aesthetics of the bigger wheels but the reliability tradeoff is significant.

    Transferrable Supercharging?

I am not sure where folks are confused other than the fact that Tesla made this info harder to find. I have both types of FUSC. SC01 on a 2015 S, and SC05 on a 2018 X. Option codes are visible in my Tesla account via right-click on the car image and "copy image address". SC01 is for ANY owner...

Retrofits and Upgrades that we have done! Any other retrofits you have done or like for us to do?

I'd rank AP1 with convenient features (turn signal to change lane) above AP3 with EAP. AP1 is confident, smooth , and never phantom brakes. Can't believe with basic AP on new models you have to disengage. I would hate that. The only thing I miss from the non-existent AP upgrade is sentry/dashcam.

    Buying High mileage MX100D

Elon himself has called the X a Faberge egg and the most complex SUV ever produced. That should be a major red flag with respect to long term reliability. A higher mileage tesla also means there have been more battery cycles and you are that much closer to the MTTF on the HV battery. In 2.5...

Comparing older Model S with newer Model 3 (kinda similar $$$ value cars)

Make sure you test drive them both. They feel very different. I wanted a 2nd Tesla and faced the same decision a new 3/Y or a used S. Test drove new M3P and MYP multiple times and ultimately bought a '15 P85D with 28K mi. and battery warranty through 6/2023 for $38K on craigslist. This was...

Supercharger - Erie, PA - Perry Highway

Navigation was set to the SC but I don't think preconditioning happens with such a low SoC. The notice never appeared and it had a solid 15 miles of driving to prep the battery. It was 55F outside which was unusually warm for this time of year. Again I think this is fairly typical charge curve...

Supercharger - Erie, PA - Perry Highway

First stop at this location last night around 9pm. Arrived at 1% SoC (lol) to get a true V3 speed test. 2 ICE cars were there, one left right away and the other idled maybe 5 minutes. Reiterating that this is really poorly designed location and will be constantly ICE'd. The way you enter the...

MODEL S REAR REFRESH FEB 2022

Wow what a disappointment. Initially I thought this was a major improvement but with these new images I think the redesign looks worse now. The body color "rear appliqué" looks more out of place than the chrome or black versions did somehow. How is this an improvement? I'm getting Honda Accord...

    FSD with “AC induction motor”

I think OP is referring to this item from the release notes. Not a regression in normal regen braking behavior. It's supposed to be smoother. I updated to 2022.4.5 yesterday on our P100D and can confirm it looks like the pre-Raven cars are not getting this improvement. It was not in the release...

    AP1 ONLY Please -- life after 2018.50.6

You are probably right. I had MCU1/AP2.5 and infotainment upgraded to MCU2/AP3. I think I was just in that unfortunate build window (3/2018). Aren't people who purchased FSD with MCU1 going to end up with that unless they also buy the MCU2 upgrade?

    AP1 ONLY Please -- life after 2018.50.6

I've had 2 MCU1 vehicles. The MCU1/AP2.5 combo was horrendous. Frequent black-screen-of-death, reboots, bugs galore. Ever since upgrading to MCU2 it is flawless. On the other hand my car with MCU1/AP1 is pretty good. I have never experienced a black screen and while not as smooth as MCU2 it's...

Terrible Service Center Experience for Model X

I've learned never to trust the estimated completion time in the Tesla app. If it's set for the end of the day just assume they will be keeping it another day or it officially says ready for pickup. Been burned by that and live 100mi from the SC. I've also stopped expecting any sort of...

My Model X May Have Saved My Life

Almost every wrecked X outcome I've seen makes me glad the wife and kid are safer in one. They are tanks. What speed was this impact? Do you know how many of the airbags deployed? It's hard to tell but they must have played a major role in you not sustaining any injuries.

Looking for some guidance here......what's a completely unreasonable time frame for 2020 Model S to not be repaired after an accident?

I feel your pain and frustration. My S has been at a body shop for 4 months with a lot less damage than yours. Unfortunately I do not think your situation is unique. I've heard 6-9 months in some cases. I've basically given up on all expectations and whenever I get my car back I will rejoice.

Retrofits and Upgrades that we have done! Any other retrofits you have done or like for us to do?

Yeah the front bumper/fascia is the one thing I wish I could change about my 2015. I don't like the look of the aftermarket choices and I can't find any shops near me that are willing to do the retrofit with the OEM parts. I have to imagine the 2021+ front bumper will be even more difficult to...

Sell 2014 Model S before 8 Year warranty expires?

As of now I plan on keeping my 2015 P85D beyond warranty coverage. I considered trading it in plus cash for a new 3/Y but I just don't find them very compelling. I've test driven the performance model 3's and Y's several times but I just don’t enjoy the them as much. Ride quality is lacking...

    Infotainment upgrade

Hello fellow X owner from Erie, PA :D. I got the upgrade on our 2018 X this summer. It was $1500+500 with the radio tuner. It does take care of the eMMC issue as well as the screen yellowing. Mine also included the AP3 hardware upgrade. Infotainment Upgrade is one of the service options you can...

    Model X Winter Tires

Supercharger - Erie, PA - Perry Highway

This location would actually have saved me from a completely drained battery once. A couple of years ago I left Erie with insufficient charge to go east on 90 for a ~150mi round trip. New UI for pre-refreshed model S? Holiday update

Updated the wife's X yesterday and she is probably going to hate it. She is resistant to all changes. However, I think the major pain points are for 3/Y owners. I also live in Erie so I'll be watching for this one. I don't typically Supercharge locally but I pass this exit on I-90 several times per week. Rear Model X wheel and tire on front in an emergency?

When you get a flat Tesla will definitely NOT tow you or fix it for free. It's expensive and they will take forever. I used my insurance tow coverage instead. 2 of 3 times I tried to use Tesla Roadside Assistance it was completely useless and frustrating.

    Plaid Vibration around 38-42MPH....

Disappointed to hear this is still an issue with Plaid. Both my P85D and XP100D have had acceleration shudder/half shaft repairs to fix vibration issues. Is it a recurring condition or design flaw across all S/X? Model X seems particularly affected.

    Model S Bumper Upgrade

If you search there are a bunch of threads on this already. Infotainment Upgrade $2000 for AP2.0/2.5, $1500 for Older Vehicles

I've been holding out on upgrading my AP1 MS but I am glad I upgraded our AP2.5 MX before this price increase. About 2 months ago I paid 2000 with HW3 and the FM/XM tuner included. Steering Wheel Vibration at High Speed

Just sent my '15 Model S in for "acceleration shudder" and had the LH Front Drive Unit Clevis Mount and Both Front Halfshafts replaced. Had the same issue on our Model X last year. Vibration wasn't as bad as the X was but I'm glad they replaced it under warranty. Hoping it's a permanent fix!

How bad are Falcon Wing doors?

Zero reliability issues with my FWD's in our 2 years of ownership. Yes, they are more complex than a regular car door. However, they have a lot more capability than any other door. Coilover suspension upgrade on non-air ride TMS

Watching this thread because I have a Model S with coils and on my previous car (BRZ) I upgraded the stock springs to BC racing adjustable coilovers. To MCU2 or not to MCU2?

I did the MCU2 upgrade last week on our X with AP2.5 and EAP and it included the HW3 upgrade for $2000 including the radio tuner. To MCU2 or not to MCU2?

I totally agree, I'm upgrading our AP2.5 car and not the AP1 car. It seems that AP1/MCU1 is a better hardware/software match than AP2 or AP2.5 with MCU1. I have no issues with black screens or freezing on an AP1/MCU1 S, however MCU1 on our AP2.5 X is completely unreliable and frequently crashes...

Off-topic but since you brought it up, how was this handled back then? Did people get a warning it was going away? I only recently got a P85D used with Insane+ so I wish it could still be upgraded to Ludicrous somehow. Even if Tesla won't do it at a Service Center, will they sell the parts...

“Classic” Model X compared to Model X refresh

I was pretty happy that the refreshed X didn't make me regret owning my current '18 P100D at all. Most of the changes were what was expected and did not trigger FOMO for me. If they had made a drastic improvement to the range with 4680's or added some completely new capabilities it might be...
