    Supercharger - Hendersonville, TN

Was just by there today and, sure enough, absolutely no progress. Wonder what's going on?

    Supercharger - Hendersonville, TN

Just learned about this. I live in Hendersonville and find this an exceedingly odd place to put a Supercharger. Unless the comments about it being primarily for the apartments turns out to be right? But seriously, how in the hell is there no plan for one in Clarksville yet? I-24 between...

    Sticky nastiness blowing from vents

Sorry if this is a well known issue but I couldn't quite find this issue / know how to search for it. My 2013 Model S has recently started occasionally blowing out what I can only describe as sticky nastiness from the front air vents (see badly focused image, below). It doesn't happen all...

Dear God, what is this thing?

Holy crap, I hadn't even noticed this yet. Well, that's going to be annoying in the winter.... Pics that I should have included in first post: Moved volume control! (And boy, do I need to do a deep clean - ugh, sorry). Tiny fonts! Weirdo new HVAC controls with hidden seat warmer...

Dear God, what is this thing?

I've had my Model S for almost 10 years now and I've gone from Tesla fanatic to happy but uninvolved car owner. Translation: I still love my S, but I don't pay super close attention to all things Tesla anymore. A week or two ago it got a software update. No big deal, I thought, happens all the...

    Supercharger - Chattanooga, TN

I'm incredibly glad to see that they've opened a Supercharger in Kimball on the west side of Chattanooga. Having to backtrack to, of all places, the airport while driving to Atlanta was a pain in the ass. And the airport was ALWAYS an objectively terrible place to put a Supercharger. It got to...

Does Pearl White issues still exits?

Man, I'm either blind or nowhere near as picky as you guys. I just spent a couple of minutes staring at these pics and have no idea what you're seeing that's out of alignment. Not saying you're wrong, just that I'm not seeing it. Legitimately, can you point out what I should be seeing here? I...

Any movers from model s to model y. Anything you regret?

SOME reliability issues? By two new batteries, do you mean the 12v battery, or the full pack? Cause, damn!

Any movers from model s to model y. Anything you regret?

At the risk of getting terribly off topic... "Right!?!??!" I was SHOCKED at the state of the loaner vehicle I picked up this weekend. It was filthy inside and out. There were A LOT of dead grass clippings on all of the floor mats front and rear. The dash screen was delaminating. We found...

Any movers from model s to model y. Anything you regret?

Nice. ;-) I've used the hell out of the frunk on my MS. There have been several times when we've had the entire vehicle loaded up with people and/or cargo and the frunk turned out to be a life-saver. Not to mention that little cubby in the back is perfect for transporting and keeping dishes...

Any movers from model s to model y. Anything you regret?

Hey, @Gizmotoy. I remember reading your posts back in '13 when I first got my car. Long time no see. ;-) Will be very interested to hear your thoughts on your new MY. Please make sure to let us know what you think!

Any movers from model s to model y. Anything you regret?

Hadn't thought about the supercharging not being free anymore. But given the pandemic I haven't supercharged since Feb. of this year and even then it was rarely more than the occasional trip down to Atlanta to visit friends. I assume it would still be cheaper than gas, but will have to look up...

Any movers from model s to model y. Anything you regret?

I'm glad I found this thread - I almost posted the exact same question! I've got a pre-AP 2013 Model S that's just a few months away from the end of its extended warranty. While it's generally been an outstanding vehicle - the best I've ever had - it's had plenty of issues. It's on its third...

    Supercharger - Manchester, TN

As an update, I think this is what's happening to me, too. When we got to both Chattanooga and Atlanta, I found that I had to plug and re-plug up to 5 times to get anything other than an immediate red light. Eventually it would start charging, give me a green light, and charge as normal, so it...

    Supercharger - Manchester, TN

At the Manchester supercharger now on way to Atlanta and had to try 3 different chargers before I found one that would work! Very concerning, especially with the wife and kids along. Tried calling Tesla to alert them but the phone system said I’d be on hold for 20+ minutes! Here’s hoping...

    Supercharger - Manchester, TN

I make the drive in my Model S 85 between Hendersonville, TN (north of Nashville) and Atlanta reasonably regularly. This is going to be really nice for those cold days/nights in the winter when the energy usage is super high and the distance between home and Chattanooga is just a little too far...

    Supercharger - Chattanooga, TN

I went through on Feb. 7/8 and confirmed the same issue. Called Tesla as well and they said others had already reported it. Any sign of it actually being repaired?

That's not good - I have to go through there tomorrow to get to Atlanta. :-(

    Supercharger - Birmingham, AL

Hrm.... That's not confidence inspiring. The in-car navigation clearly shows it as a "temporary closure" - even replacing the usual lightning bolt icon with the universal "no" symbol. But, as you said, people on Plugshare are saying it's working well enough (as recently as two days ago). Ugh...

    Supercharger - Birmingham, AL

I'm going to need to take a trip from Nashville to Birmingham later this week and plugged it into my car's nav just to get a sense of range. The car told me that that Supercharger is "temporarily unavailable." Has it really been down since the first of the year or has it been going up and down...

Do Your Brakes Emit a Cheap Sounding Squeak?

I've got 60,000 miles on mine and the brakes have squeaked for years. Tesla service tried to do something about it once upon a time but it didn't seem to take. It's annoying but I've gotten used to it at this point.

    Supercharger - Texarkana, TX

Oh my God, you weren't kidding. The misinformation and, worse, willful ignorance on display is utterly staggering.

    Supercharger - Memphis, TN

Tesla's Find Us site is showing it as open now. Jackson and Memphis so close together - I'm shocked! Now, how about some Arkansas action? I'd love to be able to take the Model S from Nashville to visit the family in Dallas.....

    Supercharger - Chattanooga, TN

Every time I've been there there's been a person in the booth and they've never given me any hassle at all. As an aside - Having visited this supercharger a few times on the trip between Nashville and Atlanta, I've got to say I hate it being at the airport. We took the family down to Atlanta...

Looks like we can add red brake calipers to non P cars :)

I've been bugging my service center for red calipers for two years now. I don't know how much I thought it would cost but after seeing this I now realize that this is about $1500 more than I WOULD pay. Sad highfalutintodd is sad. :(

    Tesla is learning...

Amen to that. And I was VERY pleasantly surprised at the presentation itself. As much as I love Elon and Tesla, his presentation skills tend to be lackluster at best (and embarrassing at worst - witness the Model X launch). But this was very nicely done. He's still not the best public speaker...

    Best $25 Accessory from Tesla

Wonder if it fits better with the HPWC? That was its original usage I believe. Maybe there's a slight difference in the handles? (I'm grasping at straws here - haven't thought about this in a while)
  32. highfalutintodd

    Best $25 Accessory from Tesla

I bought one of those a couple of years back as a hanger for my mobile charger as well. It was to replace a simple hanger purchased from Home Depot. I wanted to love the tesla hanger but ended up hating it because the handle simply refused to stay inside the holder. The slightest touch or jostle...

    Pictures from the X event

I love Tesla and Elon, but damn is he a terrible presenter....
  34. highfalutintodd

Dozens of media outlets misquoting price of the Model X making it seem more expensive

While this constant, incomplete dribble of information is maddeningly frustrating to us, it is Tesla's way of staying in the news cycle. And they are masterful at it. Think about the sheer number of news notices the company gets this way - a dual motor here, a ludicrous upgrade there, autopilot...

    Supercharger - Chattanooga, TN

We ended up taking the risk and driving through Chattanooga over the weekend. The parking lot is very much under construction but the Supercharger spots are absolutely accessible. I had called Tesla ahead of time and the assured me that they were working with the airport to make sure the...

    Supercharger - Chattanooga, TN

So...... how exactly would this work? This is a little different than temporarily closing a parking lot - this affects whether or not someone can make it to their destination in a Tesla or not. How is Tesla going to handle a situation like this? Do they notify users? Is there a status page...

Firmware 6.2 poll to say when you got it

I'm right there with you. My early(ish) 85 only seems to get updates when I ask the service center to do it weeks after it rolls out. I'm determined to wait it out this time and see if mine ever appears or if somehow my car is stuck in some sort of update void. ;-)

Great idea.... which unfortunately wouldn't have helped me with the underground parking structure at Atlantic Station. ;-)

    Supercharger - Chattanooga, TN

Thanks everyone for the feedback and great advice. I'm REALLY glad to have known that the Superchargers were in the intermediate lot - otherwise there would have been a lot of hunting around to do. Despite the fact that the airport is, let's face it, a really weird place for a Supercharger...

Tesla still delivers cars with moisture in reverse light housing!

Same here. My wonderful service center has bent over backwards to try again and again to fix it but to no avail. I've given up on trying to correct it, but it happens when I wash my car. Every. Single. Time. :-(

    Supercharger - Chattanooga, TN

Going to be taking our first road trip from Nashville to Atlanta this weekend and will be getting to Supercharge for the first time in Chattanooga. Yay! Question for those of you who have gotten a chance to use it: any issues with ICEing in this location? I'm going to have the wife and...

    Nashville Supercharger(s)

I wouldn't at all be surprised to see the first Supercharger at or around the Brentwood service center location. Lots of stuff in the Cool Springs area, it's on the far south side of town, they have a partnership in place with CBL who owns Cool Springs Galleria nearby. Seems like an ideal spot...

    What's in your "F"runk?

Oh, and groceries. Groceries almost always go in the frunk for me
  46. highfalutintodd

    What's in your "F"runk?

It's generally empty, but it's become my go-to place to put takeout. Not only is the little area is the back perfect for pizza boxes, but bags of takeout usually fit pretty nicely back there as well. Not only does the food not slide around, but the frunk keeps it pretty warm and, most...
