Interior camera question - is it being used currently but not reported?

Is the interior camera already monitoring driver alertness? I had the forward collision warning go off today one me when I was moving slowing through a parking lot, looking at a sign and the car ahead of me abruptly slowed down. This car though was about ~150 feet away. That seems really far to...

    Uber with a Tesla

I can't speak about Uber, since I do Lyft, but it is pretty much on you to do it yourself. They just provide the numbers.

    Uber with a Tesla

I've thought about getting some business cards printed up with it. I probably should.

    Uber with a Tesla

I do it. I don't try to make more than 100 bucks or so a week, and exclusively do airport pickups on my way home from work basically. (My employer is near the airport and I live near enough to the city center, so that most of my rides get me close to home). It is almost like free money. I get...

    Extra 5% power rocks!

It is far too easy to drive this car fast, as 85 is as effortless as 35.

    No Frunk Bag Hooks

The hooks could pop back up though in a month or so, we don't know the reason why this batch of cars don't have hooks. I love my Model 3, but this is also a car company that has issues getting spoilers to people who purchased that package and forgets badges on vehicles quite often. Now, again...

    No Frunk Bag Hooks

That is far from true. I work in the Auto industry, and very few parts are dual sourced due to potential quality concerns and traceability issues - even more so at the OEM level. At least with the Japanese automakers that I have worked with for over 15 years now. Dual sourcing requires two...

    No Frunk Bag Hooks

Maybe the molder had a tooling issue that would take it out of commission for a few weeks for repairs and Tesla didn't have enough safety stock available to continue putting hooks on cars. There could be many different scenarios for this change. Back in '11 after the Earthquake in Japan, we had...

Tesla Horn to Get Custom Sounds – Goats, Farts, Coconuts

Now I want a noisemaker in my car, just for coconuts.

A more basic Model 3 - Will it happen?

Can tell that you also work in manufacturing, because I had all the same thoughts.

M3P- . What is it, how to order it, etc.

Which Drive Unit do you have?

M3P- . What is it, how to order it, etc.

Hey would you mind checking which motor you have in the back? This is pretty solid proof that this car could have been delivered as a standard dual motor had you not purchased it as a performance. My service advisor who I was working with to fix a few gap alignment issues basically told me off...

    Smoky Mountains Family Trip

Don't forget the free ChargePoint charger at the outlet mall in Sevierville. I live in Knoxville and spent a weekend in Pigeon Forge and went shopping and to Dave and Busters across the street and got about 30 miles/hr back parked at the outlet.

M3P- . What is it, how to order it, etc.

Has anyone checked a new (Sept delivery) M3P- for what motor it has in the rear yet?

New Model 3 LR AWD cars no longer have Homelink installed in the factory.

I have never gotten it to work with my opener, but it does read my remote.

Petition Tesla to make the Model 3 Performance 0-60 <3s

Didn't someone who got a M3 into factory mode see that there was power left on the table? Or am I misremembering.

M3P- . What is it, how to order it, etc.

Just checked over lunch. Build date is 6/19.

M3P- . What is it, how to order it, etc.

I took delivery of my Red AWD on June 17th, and it had Homelink. I need to check what motor I have. Vin 4068XX, if that matters.

    Enough with the Games, already.

I'd much rather them spend their advertising budget on adding quirky and fun features than superb owl ads any day.

M3P- . What is it, how to order it, etc.

I have been working in the Automotive electronics industry for well over a decade - at a tier one manufacturer; in purchasing and have dabbled a bit into quality and engineering as my position requires me to wear different hats. If Tesla has multiple specs attributed to the same part number...
  21. C

M3P- . What is it, how to order it, etc.

So basically it comes down to the fact that you want to believe you purchased something that is "screened to be performance eligible" aka - special - even when faced with the reality that your car was just an AWD that received a software unlock. Talk about cognitive dissonance.

M3P- . What is it, how to order it, etc.

I am not just discussing service. I specifically mentioned the assembly line in the post you are replying to. Again, tying the "binning" of a motor to the serial number requires a third, custom linked dataset, that could easily get switched the wrong way by the operator, whereas they could just...

M3P- . What is it, how to order it, etc.

It is "trivial" in the sense that it also requires a unique flag on top of serial number logging for one part number in the MRP that Tesla uses. Plus it is inherently dangerous because humans make mistakes and can flag something incorrectly. What is far less complicated is to make two different...

M3P- . What is it, how to order it, etc.

Do you understand the nightmare for servicing AWD / P vehicles if both parts have the same part number but different tolerances? How, pray tell can a service center differentiate a P motor and a AWD motor with lower capability inverters without different part numbers? How about the nightmare...

M3P- . What is it, how to order it, etc.

I would make a bet that the only difference between a AWD and a AWD P- is a software switch. Do you really think a sales advisor is that knowledgeable about the vehicle? They are glorified Apple store cashiers.

For AWD owners wanting a P3D-

I'm kind of irked about this change now that I see what the price is for a 18"P is. I hope they make available the performance light upgrade for AWD buyers. I took delivery only 3 weeks ago, paid more and got less essentially.
  27. C

For AWD owners wanting a P3D-

The price change was expected, though I probably would have went white performance instead of red AWD with 19"s since they are essentially the same price, even though I don't want 20"s.

    NEMA 14-50 Order

I guess I'm an outlier as well. I received my adapter 8 days after placing the order. Placed on 6/17, shipped 6/18 and received on 6/25.
  29. C

For AWD owners wanting a P3D-

Signed. I'd love to upgrade my AWD to be quicker, I just don't want the 20" rims.

What Kind of Car Did The Model 3 Replace?

    2016 Civic Touring Coupe

New Model 3 LR AWD cars no longer have Homelink installed in the factory.

I picked up a Red AWD last week and it included homelink (I think, the icon is there at least) If I don't have it, would the icon still appear?
