    Total braking system failure?

It was probably a failure of the brake booster And non boosted brakes are HEAVY The problem is not your leg strength - its what you are used to Even a fairly weak person will still be able to get full brakes - but they will have to push HARD Way back in the 80's I had a lovely Lancia Spyder -...

    Model Y Roof flew off

Colour me as highly skeptical!! This reminds me of the Tesla battery fire - when examination showed that somebody had lifted the interior panels and shot the battery with a gun I suspect this was all set up by somebody who had shorted the stock and was desperately trying to drive the price...

    Another rejected model Y

I looked at those photos And to me the "faults" were a combination of the way the light hits the paint - some shadows and some reflectance I'm not an expert photographer but I bet I could approach a concours Rolls Royce and take similar pictures Basically I call bullshit

Front Driver's Steering Knuckle FRACTURED while driving at 55mph [Video]

All of the arguments are a bit moot Careful inspection of the actual broken part will reveal it it was a casting flaw or an overload failure With the safety margins usually built in to those parts I would be very surprised if an inspection did not reveal a casting issue

    Near-future quarterly financial projections

I have had solar for three years now - 5 kw system My cost breakdown was Panels, inverter and all the hardware - $9,000 (NZ) Installation and all that $3,000 (NZ) And at that the installer apologised for the cost - it was his first system and took longer than it should - and gave me sweetheart...

Commercial Crew Transportation Capability (CCtCap) SpaceX and Boeing Developments

One (very good) argument is that "Pre Flown" boosters are actually "operationally proven" so they should be standard for human flights with "brand new" units being treated with more suspicion

My biggest improvement with road noise

You don't need lasers to check and adjust your toe - its more time consuming but some straight tubing and measuring tape will do the same job at least as accurately

P100D ludicrous+ loses to Model 3?? What the??

Tyres Tyres Tyres At the performance levels you are talking about it's all the tyres - you won't see wheelspin because the traction control is so good - but if your tyres as not as grippy then you won't launch as well

Tesla Cybertruck & Semi: Radical New Battery Design Anticipated

I did not make myself clear - the changes may not and probably will not effect the amount of heat that can be removed - but they may increase the temperature spread inside the battery -

Tesla Cybertruck & Semi: Radical New Battery Design Anticipated

The Chevy Volt uses pouch type cells - and uses a circulating coolant between the cells It's replacement uses similar cells but sits the cells on a cooling plate and uses aluminium fins between the cells to conduct the heat to the cooling plate This looks to me as if Chevy started off with a...

Tesla Takes Tug-of-War With Ford to Twitter

It's slightly worse than that an IC engine takes at least one revolution to change torque - an EV needs one controller cycle The EV can change torque about 100 times faster - BEFORE you add the effects of the moments of inertia

Check Out the Cybertruck Promo Photos

I think this is Musk's "Cunning Plan" - he will be able to sell all that he can make for the next year or so - 20,000 or so By the time he is ready to make LOTS it will be less unusual - or if the public really don't like it he will be able to remodel it before full production

    Nov 21 Truck Reveal

Hi The real advantage of an electric pickup - to people who actually USE a pickup - will be (1) Mains power in the bed Keep all of your batteries charged and use all of your big power tools without waiting for the Sparky to arrange power at the worksite (2) Tesla's "Sentry Mode" can keep an...

Blog Tesla Suffers Exec Departures Amid Aggressive Product Roadmap

That is 30 senior people in two years 15 per year So how many "senior staff" does a company with 45,000 employees have - lets be generous and say one "senior staff" for every 300 employes So that means 150 "senior staff" The standard time for "senior staff" to stay in one company is what five...
