    Battery capacity loss question

Fleet averages appear to be 451km according to Teslafi with 10% loss. Not sure how close their data is. But my range would be quite far below the fleet then…

    Battery capacity loss question

Yea this is close to my quick calc and the BMS calc currently is 417. I hate to say but this is drastically worse than my expectations. I was hoping that after this run the BMS would recalculate and revive missing capacity but no luck 😭.

    Battery capacity loss question

So, my 04/2019 LR Dual Motor with 80k kms is now at 82% capacity, at first I thought it was a calibration error but this was a road trip without stopping confirming the BMS calibration. Usually I can make this run with 10-15% remaining on arrival. Service gives me this is normal fleet...

This is awesome thanks, I am heading out this way on the weekend. Chances are 0 that this will be done in time, but you never know.

    Supercharger - Osoyoos, BC

Most likely it is near or right beside the meter box. I can be the same white as the Tesla transformers but will most likely be green.

Is the transformer from Fortis installed? Heading this way in two weeks and would rather use this than Chademo…..

    Supercharger - Vernon, BC

Or with a 750kVA…. Who knows with BCH. Transformers can be peak loaded at 125%. The chances of peak load (all stations at full power) is essentially 0. When I was involved in building a new manufacturing facility in Surrey with 1600A 600V main switch gear. BC Hydro only installed a 750 kVA. We...

    Accelerator on lunch break

Forward obstacle avoidance lol not rear.... The problem is the lack of forward danger and the car will NOT accelerate. Too many false positives. I don’t need the Tesla nanny for forward visual from a stand still. If you are not paying attention here, sorry you are a not a very good driver.

Gen3 HPWC disassembly, with overheating issues explained!

As an engineer you have to design for all components to be within spec and installed properly.... I am sure it's some MBAs fault on the assembly line.... Labour cuts everywhere 🤣. I am sure Tesla HPWC is well within acceptable ranges of failure rate, and it does its job to derate when it...

    Accelerator on lunch break

IMO it can be extremely dangerous and the reason why I turned it off. I was needing to cross the highway and accelerate fairly aggressively. I would accelerate right after a cross traffic car passed, but the car hardly moved. Once I figured out what setting caused this as there was no indication...

Gen3 HPWC disassembly, with overheating issues explained!

💯 Bad relay or bad connection (cold solder) Bad things happen quickly to wires, connections and PCBs when they are well engineered.... IE just big enough to handle design load/heat dissipation

Moving to Vancouver, thinking about winter tires, seeking comments on my plan

Stock M+S all seasons work great for the model 3 in Vancouver area. Michelin MXMV4 I think. I've even used these for travel to and from the interior as they are rated for snow. They are not excellent for winter but they are a decent comprise. If you plan to regularly climb into the mountains a...

Model 3 charging now limited to 34Amps after 24.6.9 update?

That is not how circuit breakers work. For 240v circuit you'll need a dual pole 60a breaker, whoever did your install did it wrong.
  26. thor_2019

Model 3 charging now limited to 34Amps after 24.6.9 update?

@Andy7 the wall connector should have a 60A service (breaker and wire) to charge at 11kw. 30A breaker is only good for 6kw

    Clicking noise when accelerating

You'll need the wheel bearing assembly (hub) and the half shaft (CV axle) replaced. Obviously you have excessive play in the splines, if they only repair one piece there is still play and it will wear out and return. This is what I am worried about on my car, its like putting a band-aid on the...

    Clicking noise when accelerating

Well there is nothing "rotating" in the steering rack, and tie rod ends. So if it is a constant rotating noise at a set interval it is in the drive train. And yes the open differential is in the motor assembly (along with the inverter and electric motor). Drivers find all sorts of interesting...

Michelin Pilot Sport 4S vs. Crossclimate +

PS4S tires are well worth the money if you enjoy driving.... It's disappointing every fall when I have to take them off.

    Clicking noise when accelerating

It's not necessarily a bad nut, my understanding is that they didn't lubricate at Fremont and or the torque applied was incorrect. Dust and debris creates the click where the axle mates to the hub. This theory thou means that the splines are wearing out causing the movement. The lubricant just...

    Clicking noise when accelerating

Ive had the click since late last year and it's been getting progressively worse. Now at 30k KMS booked service and here is the solution from Tesla Vancouver. Steerling wheel shakes post tire swap

Nothing! It's a complete gimmick The main problem with a regular balancing machine is the operator..... If they don't properly mount the tire to the machine, it will never balance. Also check your wheel weights to make sure they are properly installed, if they didn't clean the spot that they...

Greedy electricians - gotta pay them or keep looking?

Just tell them you need a 6-50 plug in the garage for a welder. That should get you a better rate and fast charging. There already is a GFCI built into the mobile connector.

"Acceleration Boost" option, discussion as to which models and how much quicker

@Sherlo is there a supercharger near you. Charge to 90% there, then do the test immediately. This is where my car was the fastest. Wish this update came with some sort of battery conditioning mode (Track Mode). I used a free android app, and got 3.48/3.56s 0-100km (0-62) on two launches. I...

"Acceleration Boost" option, discussion as to which models and how much quicker

This update definitely makes the SOC more important to get the maximum output. Before I couldn't tell the difference between 40% and 90%, now there is a substantial amount of difference. Does the performance model behave the same!

"Acceleration Boost" option, discussion as to which models and how much quicker

I'm gonna call bulls@#t in this one. There is now way that Tesla is going to make a "less" efficient motor. You're really starting to beat a dead horse here, you keep saying the same thing over and over again. I just come to this thread to hear how much everyone is enjoying the update and I've...

For AWD owners wanting a P3D-

Binning or bench testing costs money and time, also if the 980/990 were physically different this also increases cost of both versions of the motor. I'd wager that the 980 is simply a bench tested version of the same hardware. PS does anyone have a Dragy to lend? Spent all my $$$s on the...
