Model Y Delivery Date Push Out to October 2022 - January 2023

EDD jumped to this week. Now I'm scrambling to get financing as I thought it was going to be months away. Any good credit unions? Also Tesla Insurance good for CA? I heard they can't use the driving data to lower the premiums for CA.

New Powerwall Advanced Options [Toggles for charging from and discharging to grid from powerwalls]

Thank you for the nice summary. I will leave it on TBC and Grid Charge On to see how well it goes.

New Powerwall Advanced Options [Toggles for charging from and discharging to grid from powerwalls]

I love this feature! So can we use this to charge our powerwalls during offpeak or would this incur the wrath of PG&E?

NorCal Powerwall owners. What is your reserve percentage right now? (Late October 2021)

TBC sends my power to the Grid after it meets a reserve (let's say 25%). I would still need to change the power reserve to 100% to prevent it from being sent back into the grid. Wish there was a way to have a preference to say charge up the battery first before outputting to grid. Or charge...

NorCal Powerwall owners. What is your reserve percentage right now? (Late October 2021)

Wish there was a way to set what times you would like to charge the PW specifically other than adjusting the reserve levels. Going from 25-> 100% reserve to charge the PWs. After peak times are reached. I switch back to 25%.

Tesla Virtual Power Plant in CA

Yea, I only was able to send about 10-15% of the PW to try out. I wonder if it's worth it to participate in these events while powering the house during peak rates. Kinda odd, it's doing a VPP event during a rain session (these last two days have been overcast with rain).

Tesla Virtual Power Plant in CA

Hi Bruce, You are correct, it was preparing for a VPP event the entire time and it basically stopped the PW from powering the home for this preparation. Right now it's in the VPP event again tonight and it's actually outputting 7-8kW into the grid. So exciting.

Solar production getting worse in Bay Area, California

Just had my Solar cleaned by Solar Maid two weeks ago, boosted output by about 33%. :)

Tesla Virtual Power Plant in CA

So weird, was in a Virtual Power Plant event yesterday and it didn't use any power from the PowerWall but I was paying peak rates from the Grid the entire time... :|

Average PTO wait time from PG&E for a new solar install (also venting at poor experience)

HI Thanks for the tips, I didn't know there was a cover after opening the door. I just got my PTO today :). I turned on my system about an hour ago and it's already generated some power. Thanks for your help guys. There wasn't much documentation on turning on the Powerwalls that was...

Average PTO wait time from PG&E for a new solar install (also venting at poor experience)

Thanks, so it's just a totally blank panel? Cuz I see nothing there but an empty subpanel box.

Average PTO wait time from PG&E for a new solar install (also venting at poor experience)

Also, I popped open the subpanel box labeled "GATEWAY" today and it was totally clear of any breakers or switches. Is this normal?

My proposed system can't power my AC

This is what the Tesla Engineer/Designer was asking for from my HVAC project manager: >> Typically for an AC unit to be in a back up circuit with a Powerwall a few things need to be certain 1) the type of compressor - we prefer it to have a scroll compressor so we can use a hard capacitor...

Average PTO wait time from PG&E for a new solar install (also venting at poor experience)

Yea, at first I thought it was PG&E but after 4 weeks had passed when the inspection cleared, I called and learned that TESLA didn't submit my paperwork.

My proposed system can't power my AC

I had the same issue when I was getting my HVAC system installed after I had 2 PW's hooked up. The Tesla design team said LRA needs to be <28a per PW to be fully backed up by the Powerwalls. They were afraid during a blackout, there wouldn't be enough current to start the HVAC system. I was...

Average PTO wait time from PG&E for a new solar install (also venting at poor experience)

Thanks for the responses. Yea, I tried to get help in the TESLA energy forums but there's very little activity there or help. I will call PG&E Solar Monday morning. I had emailed [email protected] but there was no response for a week.

Average PTO wait time from PG&E for a new solar install (also venting at poor experience)

So, I've been waiting for almost 4 months after my 7kW solar system with 2 powerwalls were installed and was wondering what the average PTO wait time was from PG&E. The Telsa Rep told me within 4-5 weeks since submitting the request. Is there anyone I can contact to find out the status of the...
