    AP1 ONLY Please -- life after 2018.50.6

It looks like there are possibly a few "Undocumented" updates in this one. I just loaded it on my car - but haven' driven anywhere yet. Most of the undocumented changes look fine to me: 2024.2.2.1 Official Tesla Release Notes - Software Updates

    AP1 ONLY Please -- life after 2018.50.6

I don't think the fix has been made for AP1 vehicles yet. No adverse affects so far.

Do you have shudder on hard acceleration? AKA death rattle?

I think they are considered. There has always been the performance version of the Model S. It hasn't always been called "performance" but the version was always noted in one way or another. For the death rattle, the suspension doesn't seem to be the factor that is causing the issue...

    Upgrading my battery 2015 P90D with a 2020 LR+ 100kwh battery a good idea?

057 is dead as a company is probably not worth dealing with anymore. The user WK057 is still active here (every once in a blue moon) - but he doesn't own the company anymore. You may need to look elsewhere.

    Anyone install Update 2023.44.30.4

There used to be a way by tapping repeatedly on the current version number on the screen, but I think they removed it a while ago. Just set it to advancedv updates.

    Anyone install Update 2023.44.30.4

I got that one on my AP1 car. AP1 is not affected at all by this latest update. - so no concerns there. I think AP1 will be updated with some other kind of update in the future. For AP1 it was discussed a bit over in a different thread: AP1 ONLY Please -- life after 2018.50.6

    AP1 ONLY Please -- life after 2018.50.6

Did a short drive in the neighborhood. It "feels" the same. I didn't see any changes in the AP screen. I'll play with it some more when I go on a longer drive. Disney+ is still there. Looks like Apple podcasts has been added. I'm sure some of the games have been enhanced and updated as well.

    AP1 ONLY Please -- life after 2018.50.6

Just got the update notice for 2023.44.30.4. I'm installing it. I'll see if there is anything new in the AP screen settings tomorrow. In the notes on the phone app there is no mention of any updates to AP. It does say XBOX controllers can be paired via Bluetooth... And for no particular...

Being "stuck" a day or 2 is not unusual in my car. I wouldn't worry about it.

    Software update yesterday

That's not the update everyone is dreading. It will be 2023.44.30 or newer. I think Teslafi just saw it show up a few minutes ago for an M3.
  12. Huachipato

    AP1 ONLY Please -- life after 2018.50.6

Maybe I should have read it first... But it does read as an increase in nags and quicker disengagement of Autosteer will be coming our way after all - it will show up in version 2023.44.30. Doesn't seem like it will affect the actual performance otherwise.

    AP1 ONLY Please -- life after 2018.50.6

I personally doubt the old AP1 cars would be affected by any ruling. I don't know for sure obviously - but it very different from what Tesla built out with AP2 and technically it isn't even Tesla tech (it Mobileye). I imagine the extent would be a re-name to something other than "AutoPilot"...

Well that's why we are seeing different options/results. Your car is not an AP1 car.

No, it's customizable. you can have it up all the time if you want. But I keep it on the left side, and it is replaced with the map when navigating. However I noticed the power graph pops up on the right side for a few seconds when there is a status change.

    AP1 ONLY Please -- life after 2018.50.6

Seems stable to me (MCU2 upgraded). Few things I've noticed: Camp mode doesn't glitch the sound off when the "Camp" screen shows up after 15 minutes. I feel like regen for some reason doesn't engage as quickly? Maybe it's just me. The power dial pops up on the instrument cluster when there...

    Tesla lies about car range

Honestly it's not the range of the car that would concern me. We all know the EPA numbers are pie in the sky to begin with so being off a bit is not something that would bother me (especially since I have a lead food). It's the creating a department to gaslight customers who are concerned...

Unable to start vehicle. BMS error

Just got this error twice this afternoon. I know this is an old thread but did the car ever leave anyone stranded? I made an appointment and of course it's couple weeks out. Fun part is battery warranty expires at the end of the month.

Somebody upgrade MCU2 and lost free premium connectivity?

I feel you. I got my car as a lease return at about the same day they decided to removed Free Supercharging. I was pissed a first but later realized I rarely use it. 99% of my charging happens in my garage. I was fortunate to keep free Premium Connectivity. The upgrade to MCU2 did not...

Somebody upgrade MCU2 and lost free premium connectivity?

If the car passes through Tesla then it is likely that Premium connectivity was removed along with the removal of free supercharging.

    Nosecone alternative?

Most 5x1 sheets of vinyl will more than cover the nosecone. I've tried and screwed up painting the nose cone, so I though I'd turn to vinyl and it's not too hard to do. It takes me about 30 minutes of work to get it to lay down correctly and I can get around the curvature with a little heat...

Better center console than the “yacht” console?

I kept an eye on used center consoles and landed on (now discontinued) Evannex version. I just kept hunting for it for a while - and eventually found a used one for sale. I like it a lot more vs. the $50 Silicone organizer you get get from Amazon...

H13 led suitable for temporary hid replacement?

I'm just want to point out that HID bulbs don't have filaments. It's gas filled tube with an electric arc. The power to light ratio on HID is impressive and hard to match with LEDs - not to mention there is no need for bulky heat sinks either. You can get them in any color temp too - I'm...

    Loud Fan Noise

I have a loud fan sound as well. Crazy loud in direct relationship to the speed of the fan - very annoying. I finally figured I'd look into it and see what was going on and I found there was a radiator tube that was bolted to the frame. However, the bolt coming out of the frame had broken -...

    Control Arm Safety Issue

    Control Arm Safety Issue

My Upper control arms were groaning and creaking like crazy before I had them replaced. Weren't yours making all kinds of noises before it ultimately failed? I recently had the groaning and creaking return. Thinking it was the upper control arms again I greased the heck out of them. But the...

2012 Model S self-destruction after parking brake warning

2012 Model S self-destruction after parking brake warning

I see a rotor that looks well past it's prime and probably should have been replaced when they inspected it last time. The caliper breaking off... I don't believe I've seen that before. If I were to guess what happened, I would say that the brake pad probably bit hard into the rotor and...

    AP1 ONLY Please -- life after 2018.50.6

I'm pretty sure the warranty is more than a year for motors and batteries.

    AP1 ONLY Please -- life after 2018.50.6

I'll add my hat to the mix. I'll add it's all audio that freezes (delayed), including warning chimes and blinker noises. Worst is FM radio for sure, it's almost too bad to listed to. I believe it's software related. It's like an old computer being overworked. I'm on MCU2.
  35. Huachipato

Is Tesla still offering a discounted MCU2 upgrade if done instead of the eMMC recall?

I got mine for $1500 plus $500 to keep FM radio ($2K total). My car has AP1.

    Rekt

A couple years ago I got backed into. It was a deep scratch and minor dent in a few pieces of the back bumper. I didn't think it would be much more than a sanding down and spot repaint and buff and send me on the way. However - this is one area where Tesla absolutely fails. I called a few...

Vehicle fraudulently transferred out of account without permission

Vehicle fraudulently transferred out of account without permission

    Used S vs New Y - 7-seat commuter

I can't speak for the Model Y - but with a family of 6 myself, I was kind of eyeing a 7-seater Y too. That said, I do have a 7 seater 2015 Model S now, ha d it for the last 3.5 years and it is fun to drive. The jumpseats are cool, but only my younger 2 kids (5 and 9 y/o) fit there anymore...

Service Bulletin out on Hard Acceleration "Shudder"

Yes, car is kept in garage when not in use. But honestly not sure it matters, the SC is about 20 miles away, which would be long enough to warm everything up.

Service Bulletin out on Hard Acceleration "Shudder"

My appointment was a total bust. Tesla changed things up a little and they had me drive a tech around to show the issue. Roads were wet and for some reason it was about 70 degrees at the time of the test. The car just wouldn't reproduce the shudder in the test drive. The tech did know what...

Model S HID aftermarket cool white bulb

I have those same bulbs in my desk. Same thing, the thought of lifting the wheel to pop the wheel off is kind of tiring before I even start. Since we would do both lights, might it be easier to just pull the bumper off and remove headlights instead? I did also try the "put the car in the...

Service Bulletin out on Hard Acceleration "Shudder"

I just set up an appointment for 11/29 (first available). So it means the car will probably go in February lol... I pointed out the overpayment, the issue is back, and the clevis mount not replaced along with the expectation that this should be corrected under warranty. We'll see what they say.

Autopilot doesnt come with the car

Did you turn AP on? I've set up my dad as a new driver and was trying to show him how to activate AP using his profile and was surprised it didn't work. Come to find out you need to turn it on while the car is parked and agree to the terms/conditions. Once you complete that, then AP function...

    AP1 ONLY Please -- life after 2018.50.6

Sorry for the confusion, I was referring to the blended Regen feature (the post before yours). When new versions come out sometimes I hunt down what's new and saw it listed somewhere. The latest one on my car just changed the FM radio buttons to have the actual FM station logos.

    2019 Model S P100D seats

I couldn't get the next gen seats to work for me. Same thing - it just provides me a sharp pain in my lower back. I couldn't stomach the idea of just eating the cost of swapping seats though. I did find some seat covers (Wet Okole) - that came with a little inflatable bladder I could...
