    Static shock

I'm not a physicist or electrical engineer, bit I'm pretty sure it's you, or rather the clothes you wear, and the seat material. You inevitably slide across the seat when you get out. If you have certain man-made materials in the thing covering your bum, you rub the two surfaces together...

Best/most convenient Supercharger in Bristol area?

Cribbs is your best choice. There's loads of new V3 stalls. And no, you don't need to go through a barrier during working hours. Just follow the Nav, as you follow the little two lane road around the car park, it's the second of the two entrances into the covered parking

    Insurance UK

LV tried to charge £650 compared to £600 last year, when I rang them, they reversed it back to ~£600. I then added 20k miles annually, which itself added £120 to the premium. Comparing Meerkats brought in a range from £620-£2500 (and the highest quote wanted to fit telematics as well - they...

    Faux Leather Seat Bubbling

That is bloody awful :( I agree with all that has been said - on the headrest front, its sole purpose is contact with your head! There must be no special regime needed to maintain that, so it's not fit for purpose. You appear to have mitigated every potential user failure mode, so keep at...

RHD Model Y orders opened in Hong Kong - could we be soon?

I am so over this ridiculous brand snobbery, it serves no-one but the marketeers. My last company car was a Mondeo Vignale. It absolutely smashed the Mercedes, Audi and BMW I had previously into a cocked hat on quality, features, power and cost. By all accounts the Mach-e is a good car, and...

Vendor Teslas on track - events coming up.

@Tevo Solutions for reference, a standard quote from Moris, I am not young, have no motor convictions and years' no claims. Hence my surprise at the high numbers. As I said, it's a shame. If your day is a success (and I'm sure it will be), I wonder if one day you might be able to negotiate...

    Looks like I'm moving on...

You acknowledged my point, thank you. All well and good to be dissatisfied and angry, we've all been there (sometimes even with Tesla and their products!). Thing is though, if you just go around doing that, you're just going to get negative reactions from people. Heaven knows, (as has been...

    Looks like I'm moving on...

And I find that people (not necessarily yourself) expect that their opinions are held equally by other people. I have found that the likes of BMW charge extra in 'option' packs for tech and specs that are 'standard'. This way, they get to price their base models 'reasonably', but by the time...

Really? While he may have been slightly obnoxious, why the hell shouldn't anybody from anywhere in the world feel free to post here? Secondly, people's perceptions of what's important vary wildly. That diversity is expected and desirable, I don't know why people get so offended over that...

    Who would prefer Waze Navigation?

Because, if they can make their AI work like they want it to, it will blow past the limitations of that £30 sensor? To be honest, I will always support the innovators. We need people that don't just want a slightly faster £30 sensor, otherwise we'd still be lighting fires in caves (if you'll...

I might add, @GRiLLA made a good point earlier, and if true, it would take a lot of dissatisfaction to change their strategy.

    Who would prefer Waze Navigation?

I'm not an IT guy, I don't know what the ramifications of enabling and maintaining those services are. My experience is that what you think in IT world is 'easy' is usually vastly complicated. In any event, my point wasn't that I disagree with you necessarily, just that enabling it is a far...

Interesting, especially in light of the revenue model re-positioning happening with Apple/Epic/Google etc.
  29. Obliter8

    Who would prefer Waze Navigation?

Oh, I'm with you. It's not perfect, and more choice is usually good. For me, having a HUD trumps everything, and despite being a gamer I would choose that in a heartbeat instead of a huge catalogue of games, AA/CarPlay, or better voice control.

    Who would prefer Waze Navigation?

Of course! But that's development and management resources that will not be spent elsewhere. I replied as this thread represents a range of views, including a robust third who agree with me. The stuff that @Neilio and @Marc Roberts replied with for instance, are either already present in...

    Who would prefer Waze Navigation?

I dunno, I've used Android Auto on a number of cars, and it's a pain in the hole. Until recently, you had to plug the phone in, so that's a massive annoyance, and then I only use it for local music (already in the car), Spotify (in the car) and Google Maps (in the car). Waze is a bit better...

    Phantom braking (TACC/AP) [Not AEB]

I'd just like to echo the sentiments previous - it seems the frequency varies wildly across individuals. Fundamentally, we all drive the same car so there's likely a lot of the individual in the report. I'm in the 'it happens every now and again, but it's usually an annoyance rather than a...

UK Number Plate Full Removal - Can Anyone Help?

I put green plates on earlier this year. It was a fine balance of brute force and delicacy required to pop tabs out to separate the two halves of the frame. I don't know if it's the same, I have 2019 M3P.
  35. Obliter8

    Is EAP worth it?

Yeah, in my experience, it does accelerate when overtaking on the motorway. It's just quite passive about it - the rate of acceleration is certainly slower than my previous Ford ACC.

Starting to Have My Doubts (About Leasing an M3) and We've Not Even Seen the Car Yet

Bit late to this thread, but a) I hope your nickname is the indeed one of my favourite comedy characters, and b) in my dealings with a huge fleet company and Tesla setting up adding BEVs to a company cart scheme, I can share that it's pretty much all a fleet company issue
  38. Obliter8

    Is EAP worth it?

Yes you can - either just ignore them and they go away, or tap the screen to cancel them
  39. Obliter8

    Is EAP worth it?

I wouldn't buy FSD again, based on its huge gulf in performance versus where it needs to be. But I would buy EAP. There is a lot of valid criticism on here, but IMO people expect perfection, and no system can be perfect - human beings are from perfect. I use it on the motorway all the time...

    Uk Company Car Expense Help

I was instrumental in getting Tesla's on to the scheme at the big corporate I work for. We reimburse at 7p for fleet drivers, as all the cost models showed that the 4p was ridiculous for any charging don't away from home. Electricity is not deemed a fuel, so not a taxable benefit if provided...

    Potential M3 LR buyer questions

I used to have an E300 and an then an A6. They were refined, but I wouldn't say the build quality was any better than the M3P I have. They were a teeny bit quieter on the motorway at cruise speed, but clattery growly things when accelerating, and the handling was way, way worse than the Tesla...
