    Repair suggestions?

Can't tell from the pictures what is actually damaged but as Sprandt23 mentioned, you can get to $10K+ in damages pretty quickly with what appear to be relatively minor "wounds".

What is the best dash camera for the Model S nowadays?

I will add that there is also a switched 12v supply available from the cable harness in the back of the rear view mirror. You need to tap into the top wire in the din connector but the wire can be fed from the same panel where the continuous 12v supply is available so the wiring looks just as...

Elon / Tesla - Let's try SomethingDifferent this time around.....

If Elon told investors that it would take 24-36 months to get things right then the stock would be worth about two thirds of its current price within a day. Unfortunately we live in a world where investors have very short attention spans and as long as the markets allow Elon to keep making...

Minor accident, looking for some advice

You are right. You can take the car to any body shop you want but Tesla will only sell certain parts to shops that they approve.

So, when is APv2 going to be noticeably better than APv1? Or is it already?

Well I fear that the development effort right now is in the model 3 firmware. I think that if Tesla delivered what they now call EAP with the model 3 then a good portion of those 500K pre-orders would ask for their deposits back.

    Tesla Model S Maintenance Experience

I think that the key here is that "the car was out of warranty". Honestly, I have come across very few dealerships that will provide a free premium loaner for an out of warranty repair.

So SilkySmooth never happened now waithing on SomethingSpecial

I don't think that anyone expected EAP to be perfect the day it was released, but the slow pace of improvement certainly is cause for concern. Tesla developers are working on 3 versions of AP (including the model 3) so you have to wonder if resources are spread a little thin. My big worry is...

    Good Job Summon

Most people would have learned after the first time :) I happen to live in a town where we have an idiot Mayor who believes that every car will be self-driving by 2020 so there is no need to maintain parking as it won't be needed anymore. If nothing else Tesla is proving that we are still a...

    Here's What's Missing from Self-Driving Cars: TRUST

^ Well if the gauges reported low then someone would want to sue over that claiming that they had higher evaporation due to having to buy more fuel! You can sue anyone for anything, you don't even have to have a logical argument. Got to love how the system works. Of course what the lawyers...

    Here's What's Missing from Self-Driving Cars: TRUST

Agreed. I often wonder if the people complaining actually own cars and if they do if they can read. [Unverified] Defective Design- A Disaster

That is the whole point of posting these fake stories. Far easier to get people to trade stock out of fear. There is an entire industry dedicated to making profits off of fake stock news and reviews. The only thing that stands out with this attempt is how poorly done it is.

How is a Tesla taxi possible, business wise?

That is a real mistake given that the flat rate is 520kr or about $70 US! Thing to bear in mind in Stockholm is that different taxi co's charge different rates. You have to look at the side door of the car to see what the rate is before you jump in.

I have said this before and sadly it is based on experience. There is a large short position (> 30M shares) against Tesla yet the stock price is near a 52 week high. When this happens you start to see all sorts of fake stories and posts about problems at Tesla and issues with vehicles in an...

Did anyone else get the call: "Reaching out to early adopters"?

    17.11.45 Automatic Emergency Braking

Good news, you are incorrect in your assessment. I traded in my pre-AP1 car in December 2016 and I received a very fair trade in value from Tesla. I think that all of these valuation concerns are way overblown.

    Baker's Dozen HW2 Misrepresentations

You would have to own a Tesla to sue! This is getting tiring, a few people set up new aliases every few months and start posting rubbish. When they eventually get called out they just turn around and start with new names. Best to ignore.

    Firmware 8.0

I think that it is straight forward. If Tesla has identified self driving technology as a key market differentiator and core competitive competency going forward then it simply makes sense to bring the technology in-house and lessen reliance on a 3rd party. Happens all of the time.

If you take your car into a tire shop they will tell you to replace the tire as a safety precaution and to avoid any liability. Tesla's Autopilot needs to be shut down and NHTSA needs to do their due diligence

In order not to use AP he would need to own a Tesla! Likely a paid basher by an organization who has a large short position on the stock. Short interest is near its all time high and folks are panicking as the price rises. Watch for more and more of this to occur.

Holy crap, repairs are insanely expensive, beware!!

I think that the authorized repair centres that Tesla has chosen are good and I have had no issues with quality. I think that people are reading a lot into an off the cuff comment made by Elon. Aware of tire noise dampening?

I don't think that it is anything that Tesla has done, a couple of tire manufactures have been offering these tires for a while now. They can be fixed by grinding or removing the sound deadening material but a lot of tire shops still won't touch them for repair.
