    Rav4 EV vs Model S 40kWh

RAV4 EV still being offered at tremendous savings: $6000 off sticker, 0% APR financing, $7500 IRS tax credit, $2500 CA Rebate and possibly another $2500 off for something called Toyota "loyalty" cashback. Inexplicably, for whatever reasons, these cars just do not seem to be selling well. Less...

    Rav4 EV vs Model S 40kWh

I hear you. Buyers remorse here as well. Funny thing is, my local Toyota dealer (where I bought my RAV4 EV last month at nearly full sticker price and only 1.9% APR financing), just this afternoon, denied any such deals exist. Yet, the same dealer's website clearly species $5k off AND 0%...

    Rav4 EV vs Model S 40kWh

Really? All CA dealers? On purchases that still qualify for 0%? When does this deal expire?

    Rav4 EV vs Model S 40kWh

I'm sure there is a whole bunch of extra red tape associated with buying a 2012 RAV4 EV from outside CA. Nevertheless, it is an awesome electrofied SUV with terrific range, currently sold (in CA) at a deeply discounted price with 0% financing, AND buyers also get the $7500 tax credit! I'm...

    Rav4 EV vs Model S 40kWh

Toyota is already deep discounting the RAV4 EV attempting to boost sluggish sales. Much to my dismay, I bought mine last month when no such deal was available. Nevertheless,it is still a great EV and the only one of its kind based on a compact SUV. As a "2nd" EV, it's the one you'll drive...

Does the RAV4 EV 103 mile EPA range suggest anything about Model S 40 kwh range?

I'm getting as much as 135 miles extended range in my 2012 RAV4 EV, and if I really pushed it as far as hypermiling beforehand to jack up the car's learned driving efficiency, I feel confident I could get real close to 150 miles. out of an extended charge from the full 41.8kWh of usable battery...

Extended test drive of Toyota RAV4 EV

RAV4 EV's range almost as good as base Tesla Model S!!! I think the RAV4 EV is underrated! It is fairly easily capable of an extended range of closer to 150 miles! 140 miles even easier, and 130 is almost a total no brainer. A range of 125 miles is even doable on a standard charge. THe...

    Rav4 EV vs Model S 40kWh

Leviton also currently offer their EVR-Green 320 series which are J1772 compliant EVSE L2 home chargers rated for 7.7kW (240V, 32A) output. I picked up mine from Home Depot Online for $1099 + tax, with free shipping. It is pre-configured as a "plug-in" with a UL approved, NEMA 6-50P...

    Cost Anxiety Mitigation Program (CAMP)

I own the best of both worlds . . . 2012 Chevy Volt and 2012 Toyota RAV4 EV. Both are truly great energy efficient cars. For a family man with pets, etc, the RAV4 is the clear choice, but the Volt is my choice strictly for short range commuting. I've had mine for three months, driven it ~2000...
