Any of you have 100/99 scores still not get any FSD till today?

Looks like the speaker isn't required - I got Sentry Live on my July '19 Model 3P which doesn't come equipped with the speaker.

No emails here and I definitely got the beta as a new tester.

    2019 IRS Form 8911 Help

Aw sorry about that - I was reading something about it on another site and I guess it was the regular EV credit that was being discussed in the context of credit karma. I used credit karma but I wasn’t eligible for 8911 due to the other credits I got this year for my Solar Panels install. It...

    2019 IRS Form 8911 Help

You could always use CreditKarma.com and file for free. Won't get your investment in H&R Block back, but at least you won't spend more on something else.

    Full beam annoyance

Oh that part definitely works. The problem is the auto-off gets triggered by a whole bunch of other things that you don't want it to. It also has no time threshold in between actions - I've had the thing flicker on and off a few times in succession as I drove past some roadside reflectors.

    2019 IRS Form 8936

Looks like it shows 2019 in the upper right now. Unfortunately, I'm not eligible for this as the tentative alternative minimum tax blows the ceiling, even if I'm not filing AMT. I don't know why they added that restriction - no other green energy credits do this to my knowledge.

what's the procedure for service center drop off / loaners?

Last time I had service done I just dropped it off first thing in the morning, was assigned a loaner, and then drove to work where I waited for them to call me later in the day to let me know I had until 6 to pick it up.

Joe's Car Stuff - Dont buy

I see his profile has him as a former vendor too. Maybe ElectricIAC knows where he is, he tagged almost every post calling the vendor out in this thread with a DISAGREE...

Front License Plate on Tow Eye

I had something similar on my old BRZ. I eventually got rid of it as the asymmetry got the best of my OCD. I think one of the solutions that mounts underneath the bumper would be better if you're opposed to adhesives and/or drilling.

Vendor DIY Chrome Delete Kit - Nikola Pro

Just a follow-up mini-review on my Matrix Black kit that I've had on the car since these first came out. I'm in NY where we've had sun, rain, snow, and ice since I've had it on (sometimes all in the same day). So far, everything still looks great and it's holding up against the cold weather...

Joe's Car Stuff - Dont buy

Not even sure how this guy's still a vendor on here. Anyone who's still looking for these floor mats, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. I bought my set for under $185 shipped within a few days to NY.

Cable blocked - Charge port latch may be frozen

Just a follow-up to this - I scheduled a Service Center appointment and a few days before the event, they reached out to me and asked where I'd like the Mobile Service to be performed as they can do this without a Service Center visit. We made arrangements for them to come to my house and...

    Winter Tires on Model 3

I guess I don't know for sure, but I've been buying wheels and tires from TireRack since the 80's and if they said something would fit my car, they fit. I've never had an issue. In any event, it has nothing to do with the width unless your offset is such that the calipers are hitting the face...

    Winter Tires on Model 3

Hmm, I don't think the width would make a difference - the problem with the brakes on the OEM 18 and 19 rims is the caliper hits the inside of the barrel. In fact, I found some ASA rims on Tirerack that fit the M3P in 18" and they are 18x8's like yours.
  16. P

    Winter Tires on Model 3

Just to provide a point of reference - the 18" TSportlines fit on the M3P with the big brakes no problem. I just mounted mine over the weekend. TPMS didn't register during a 15 mile drive, then the next day it recognized it after a mile of driving. I have the Xice 3's and the sound level is...

Cable blocked - Charge port latch may be frozen

Anyone run into this lately? The temperatures have dropped here but I've been getting this message even when it hasn't reached freezing. When this happens, I hear an intermittent "click" noise coming from the charge port that won't go away, even after the car is stopped or rebooted. Most days...

M3P - All Weather Tires or Second Set of Snow Tires?

I kept the summers on the 20" OEM wheels and bought a set of aftermarket 18" wheels shod with dedicated winter tires. It's easy enough to swap back and forth twice a year. All seasons are a compromise - they aren't great summer tires and they aren't great winter tires. I feel if you spent the...

    My take on mud flaps

I've had the Taptes Mudflaps on for almost three months now and no problems whatsoever. It's basically the same ones that everyone else sells. Very happy to have them and satisfied with the results.

    20" Gray Performance Wheels Trade

I don't think there will be many people interested in it, but I'd be willing to do the same with anyone on Long Island, NY (I have the Silver 20" Performance, would love to have the Gray ones).

    My take on mud flaps

Nothing that anyone would be able to prove one way or the other without a wind tunnel. You'll likely get more range impact from cracking a window open.

TSportline - Great Wheels / Disappointing Tire Protection Plan

Seems sketchy that TSportline would prominently advertise free rotations as part of the service on their website and then claim it's not included. I wonder if the person you spoke to was misunderstanding the situation and assuming you wanted them to perform the service. Since the website...

Question about Tires and need opinion...Got a Flat

what part of “both sides” is contrary to “Same axle”? both sides would be left and right of the same axle unless your car has an interesting drivetrain configuration!

Question about Tires and need opinion...Got a Flat

Tire Pressure is recommended by vehicle so you shouldn't have to mess with the TPMS (which is on the valve stem attached to the wheel (the metal part) and not the tire (the rubber part). I'd recommend keeping the same kind of tire you have in the set, if you have to replace it, at least do both...

12v wire tap for Radar Detector

Unfortunately I didn’t snap any pics before putting everything back. You can’t miss it though, it’s the thickest wire in the bundle that goes down the A-Pillar side of the door.

Vendor DIY Chrome Delete Kit - Nikola Pro

That looks better than I expected, but I'm not sure about the back piece where you're blending the chrome delete in to the pillar delete. It seems abrupt. Unfortunately, it might be the best option available given the lines involved. I wonder how it would look with the entire trunk lid...

    Dash Wrap - Any Opinions?

I went with Matrix Black on the dash, center console, and steering wheel. I honestly thought I was going to do a terrible job but it actually came out well. With the added confidence, I went ahead and did Matrix Black for the chrome delete as well. All in all, very satisfied with the outcome.

Advice Needed: Respray or Touch Up Paint?

Delivery issue. It was noted as a due bill item and they wanted me to bring the car in to their body shop and deal with Uber credits while they worked on it. In the end, it was too much of a hassle for me so I've just sat on the issue. My paint defect is on the leading edge of the passenger...

Advice Needed: Respray or Touch Up Paint?

Respraying a portion of a car is always a gamble. The stuff just never comes out as good as a full car spray. I had a similar problem and have been sitting on the decision to bring it in to the Tesla body shop or just deal with it. So far I'm leaning towards deal with it.

Vendor DIY Chrome Delete Kit - Nikola Pro

I just started with a clean car and then took a damp microfiber rag and cleaned up the parts I was wrapping to make sure there weren't any remnants of dirt or other contaminants, then ran over it with a dry microfiber and finally another microfiber with some isopropyl alcohol to remove any oils.

How do I disable the noisemaker in my Tesla Model 3

Might not happen at the federal level, but some states already perform carious safety checks every year. I'm right next door to you in NY and this is what the safety check includes: Seat Belts Brakes Steering, Front End, Suspension, Chassis, Frame and Wheel Fasteners Tires Lights Windshield...

    Echo Auto In Model 3

Mine's been rock solid with its connection to my iPhone XS running 13.1 (I have a developer profile so I've been on it since it was released to testers. Only issue was with the original 13 update that forced all existing bluetooth connections to be re-confirmed. I unpaired the Echo from...

Vendor DIY Chrome Delete Kit - Nikola Pro

Alot of Tint or Detail shops do wraps as well and have no problem letting you see the various wraps or even give you some scrap pieces as samples, I'd recommend checking a local shop. While you're there, you can have them provide an estimate on doing the chrome delete for you so you can bask...

How do I disable the noisemaker in my Tesla Model 3

Agreed, but before people start asking for resistor specs and how to defeat the monitoring (if, in fact, it exists), a simple test to disconnect it and taking it for a quick ride around the block would certainly be a reasonable first step of advice. They're going to have to get to the device...

How do I disable the noisemaker in my Tesla Model 3

Pop the front underboddy panel off so that you can reach your hand into the space on the passenger side front corner. The speaker is right in that area. Disconnect the harness and see if the computer complains. I doubt it will, but if it does, then worry about resistors. Until then, it...

Are winter tires necessary with the long range dual motor AWD?

We didn't use seat belts, ABS, or a whole slew of other things to make our driving experience better and safer either and I can also say that we would probably be okay without any of them. Why chance it though? Winter tire technology has improved considerably over the years - for the...

    Freshly Superwrapped and Lowered

Looks good from this shot, do you have any closeups of the rims? How was the coating process, how many coats/finishing layer, any issues or things you'd do differently? Was there enough material provided in the kit? Did you do the entire wheel (including the inside facing the car?)

Vendor DIY Chrome Delete Kit - Nikola Pro

I would highly recommend adding Matrix to the mix - it's such a great pattern and I have it everywhere - dash, console, charger outlet, hell I'd put them on my wheels if I could. As for suggestions for improvements, honestly I feel that you guys knocked this one out of the park. Only thing I...

Finished the job today, here are the mirrors and a final side shot - you can definitely see the seams on the multiple pieces of the mirror wrap, and while I think I did a pretty good job, there are some tiny imperfections that someone with OCD would probably call out if they did the 1 foot...

    DIY Curb Rash repair

Shop around, I'm in NY, land of everything costing more than the rest of the country (aside from SoCal) and it was $175 for them to come to me to repair, or $100 for me to go to them. I had similar work done and I cant even tell it was rashed now.

12v wire tap for Radar Detector

I have a recent built 3P and just tapped into the thick red wire that Tesla now connects to the harness by VC Left. If you open the door jamb panel, it's the thickest wire in that bundle going down the leading edge. Can't miss it. It comes on with the rest of the car when you open the doors...
