It's a 2019 SR+

Tesla Mobile Service has just been to look at my car, the purple wire in the harness leading into the boot has snapped and the white one was on its last legs. Luckily car is under warranty still, so the harness is being replaced free of charge.

My boot has suddenly stopped working, I have booked a Mobile Service appointment, they have told me that they have ordered a new lock mechanism and a new wiring harness as these are the two most likely reasons. I've just been out to check my SR+. It's not plugged in and is showing my max current as 16A, however I have charged up several times at a local Tesco Pod Point charger at 30A (7kW free charger). So it may be a case of just give-it-a-go and see what you get!

I believe that the maximum rate your car can accept via a Destination Charger is determined by the type of Model 3 you have. See attached. Try the 'Tap the lightning bolt icon on the touchscreen to view the max amperage of your vehicle'

I believe that the J1772 plug is a Type 1 plug, whereas the connector on the Model 3 is a Mennekes Type 2. Not sure what 'Mode 2' means, don't think it's the same as 'Type 2'

I ordered mine mid-July and picked up on the 25th Sep, despite an expected delivery date of 15th October on my Final Invoice. Exactly same spec as you. There did appear to be a lot of Performance models being supplied the day I was there.

The only thing they took from me was my driving license. The website says you need to take proof of insurance but they never asked me for this. I'd take a good book as well!! My delivery was due at 4pm, but car wasn't available until 7pm....

As far as I am aware, the 100% Writedown in the form of First Year Allowances on buying an electric car (as a way of reducing your corporation tax bill) only applies to NEW cars, not second hand ones, so I don't think your company buying it from you will qualify you for this unfortunately.

Thanks for the feedback, I actually cut it back to 7A overnight for exactly that reason, didn't want to feel the plug as it was sheeting down!

I got my car yesterday and plugged in to an external 3 pin plug using the supplied cable and adapter when I got home. It obviously knows you are using the 3 pin adapter, and will not let you charge over 10A.

After I posted, I also got an SMS asking me to reply 'YES' to confirm the delivery date. I'd never received any texts before, so this does suggest that it's Rescheduled in their system, not a second mail to me.

In my case, I called the number on the Tesla website under 'Contact' which is 0162 845 0660.

Called Tesla today, got a response almost immediately and was informed that my Model 3 will be ready by the end of the month, despite my Final Invoice stating that estimated delivery was 19th October. Excited!
