    Lumbar seats

Does anyone know if the passenger lumber seats (say from a m3 2019) are compatible to the new 2021 m3 with no lumbar? I'm considering ordering a new m3, but my wife will kill me if there's lumbar missing in the passenger seat.... So, I was thinking of swapping the passenger seats before...

Should I still be Charging to 80%?

The battery likes to be between 20-80%. Maybe 30-70 is slightly better, but it's likely negligible. The problem with maintaining a charge lower, like say 50%, is that if you DO need the energy, you are going to have a problem. Like, if you need to go to a shop that's outside your normal...

Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

If an ice engine’s fuel economy degraded 5% or 10% (assuming some gunk build up or something in the cylinders - ie, nothing snapped and broke) over 5 years, there’s no way a manufacturer would cover that. No way. You’d be told “the engine is still operating in normal parameters and it’s not...

Forbes article on Tesla and Lidar

The point is - it's just software that needs to be solved. The number of sensors on the car are sufficient, since we drive with less today. We've already seen a good proof of concept (autopilot). They just need more data and more training to get the rest going. I'm sure there will be edge...

Forbes article on Tesla and Lidar

Just go back to the basics - which is what Musk is doing. You and me drive with two cameras, mostly pointing forward. Why wouldn't some software be able to drive with 8 cameras and some radar? Hint - It can. The question simply remains "can Tesla figure out the software" and if so, when...

The "Federally compliant for incentive" Tesla

Is it worth getting FSD in Canada?

Can someone please explain the rational of people drooling over HW3.0? If you have AP only, the current hardware works. If you have FSD, they give you hardware that works for FSD. Why do people care about HW3.0 when they don't have FSD? I just don't get it.... The hardware isn't what's...

Warning to potential Model 3 Buyers in BC and Quebec, Canada

On a slightly different note - how did you plan to get your taxes back? In the past, when I've registered my vehicles, I paid the taxes to the government. I figured if I returned the vehicle, Tesla would happily return my MSRP money, but I'd end up losing the taxes... which means no vehicle...

Did Tesla change the Model 3 pricing again today?

Certainly disappointing to me. I'm on the fence about ordering, and had FSD in the cart. $1300 more doesn't sway me to buying. fwiw - I missed the announcement of FSD price increase and only found out today when drooling over my cart.

"Going Private = Forced Liquidation" for many Investors

Elon said something about SpaceX already making shares available to all through Fidelity. Invitations opened up! I got mine this morning (reserved January 16th 2018)!

Keep in mind, prices and options are very likely to change from now to next summer. We've already had the performance introduction, which started at a much higher price than it is today. The AWD price has also been adjusted to 4k from 5k. If Tesla gets all the way to next summer and...

Model 3: US deliveries suspended til Q4?

Ordering on june 26 doesn't count in Q2. They will only book that profit once the vehicle is delivered and paperwork is correct. So ordering today DOES help for a profitable Q3. edit - words

Invitations opened up! I got mine this morning (reserved January 16th 2018)!

The standard battery shows 6-9 months from now. Then there is probably a build time of 2 months and they will prioritize PUP/AWD. If you want standard with no options, you might get it next summer. If they really do get to 8-10k / week, they will consume the current backlog by the end of next...

Model 3: US deliveries suspended til Q4?

I agree with this. They are still delivering S / X and they are already close to 200k. It's impossible for them to be anywhere close to profitable in Q3 without USA deliveries. They would have to divert 25k S/X to over seas, plus they haven't sent any M3 anywhere except Canada... I don't...

M3 and rebate in the new FORD era...

Just because you got a 14k deal doesn't mean that the vehicle will instantly lose 14k value. If the vehicle is still full price in many other parts of the country and can be sold there with a normal depreciation adjustment. And, if Ontario loses the 14k rebate, then even in Ontario that...

So, I park in a parkade that specially has signage saying "plugs to be used for block heaters only" or something along those lines. Has anyone plugged into such places with their Tesla? In -35c all the energy would be going to heating the battery and not charging, but I assume places are not...

Sad news for Canadian waiting to order M3 AWD

Well, the configurator does say mid 2018... Although I do see your point, there are very few of us in Canada ordering, relative to the USA. They fulfilled a lot of Canadian orders in the first wave, so the handful of cars they have to send north in 2018 won't really impact anything.
  47. N

Elon says AWD and Perf orders start at end of next week!

They likely want the M3 to have 310 to fit nicely in their other vehicle line up. Owners will quickly realize they have more real life miles and will smile when expectations are beaten. I’d bet AWD is 350 if real world is 334
