Up or down… mine squeak

Update Nov 26, 2021. Silicone grease didn’t fix the squeaks… reduced them for a few weeks… didn’t eliminate them. So I bought special squeak reduction tape and wrapped the metal bars completely and forced the headrests back into position. Worked for a day. I think I’d need to remove back seat...

I was most impressed with the graphic of the human brain … how it does vision. This provides an actual working model… and gives AI team a sense of scale required for signal processing, and overall architecture.

I could afford it… so what the hell… treated myself and have no regrets. It was a Happy Fathers Day gift to myself.

I decided to take my MYLR off hold today. Immediately got a VIN… with estimated delivery 9-13 weeks. Made original deposit of $2500 June 2019. Yes.. i’ve delayed for 2 yrs. and decided to roll dice on NJ rebate… because of the horrid communications from the NJ group handling it, the uncertainty...

I do hope you’re right… that we won’t need to cancel and re-order. But… until I see an authoritative clarification from Tesla … I’m taking a wait and see approach.

I changed color and got hit with earlier $500 increase. There’s a good chance that we’ll get hit again if we need to cancel our “on hold” orders to get the POS $5k discount. Assuming it’s still $5k. I am expecting to click the “I’m ready to take delivery” button… or the “Cancel and Re-order”...

I fail to see how repairs will cost more. What... a body shop will find the two-piece (welded together to make one piece instead of cast as one) easier to repair? Please explain why.

Once I learn what Berlin is doing differently with MY... and then if or when those improvements will be brought back to the US... only then will I decide when to buy. I was going to buy a MY when my ICE lease expires in March 2021 (put down $2500 dep last year)... but Musk announcement about...

I didn’t hear it... I saw it in the configurator. I posted a few images in this thread.

Apparently.... we get the 5k rebate immediately off the MSRP base price... and then the “add-ons” are added to that AFTER the rebate is applied.

The configuration now shows a $5k discount for my order. Guess Tesla monitors this thread?

After getting an unsatisfactory response from the short hills mall nj Tesla manager on MSRP .... I then posed the question to Tesla via Tesla online support for clarity on the ni $5k rebate... and whether MSRP includes delivery & dmv fees. It’s been a week. No response.

I spoke on phone with account rep at short hills nj showroom. He said $5k is subtracted from price... so I guess that’s a rebate? Then he said my MY non-perf w/white seats... (MSRP just under $55k)... does not qualify for rebate since the $55k limit is for MSRP + $1600 for delivery + DMV...
