Will Tesla be able to deliver FSD with HW3.0 and current Model 3 sensor suite, ever?

It's mainly financial interests and unions protecting jobs. In asian countries train are very close to autonomous. Lots of light railways are unmanned (Dockland light rail, UK). In the UK the biggest obstacle to autonomous trains is unions refusing to refusing to allow development or testing...

    Collection day sanitising

Agreed with the simple soap message - sometimes the old ways are still the best. it's a virus, not a bacteria so in this case soap is better than alcohol and far less likely to damage your car or other surfaces. Do all-natural soaps and cleaners protect against COVID-19? On a similar subject...

Multiple system failure / Wiring Harness Recall

Just got my M3 back from having a fault like this repaired. The Tesla team were great, especially the Bristol SC staff. They said it's a wiring loom issue. RHD only. The connector is positioned where it wasn't expected to get really wet, but clearly that's not worked out. They now have...

    Is it really worth it?

After much thought I became one of the only 4 to tick "if they sort out my issues" because I'm sure they will, but it's unbelievably frustrating waiting. Before delivery; Agreed terrible. I really can't see why they can't get basic customer communication. Handover; Mine (London) was great...

    Traction Control disabled Fix

Hello, Yes sensible to ask. This is engineering ; always ask the dumb questions, you might be the only one that thought of it. I had done a power off which as I understand is the step beyond a full reboot : How To: Perform Hard Reset on Model 3 - Tesla Owners Online...

    Traction Control disabled Fix

Hello Diablo, did this get fixed by the SC ? I have the same issue which after repeated alerts for a week I found the car with no regen breaking, but no power assisted steering either. The steering is very heavy with no power assist. It's in the SC at the moment. They thinks it's probably a...

    10,000 miles in a Model 3 (nearly) - Review

Thanks for the detailed rely. I'll watch the video, much of my comments were assumption, so I may be wrong (my wife tells me buying the Tesla was one of my few good choices). I'd hope the charge installations are protected from the battery connecting to the house as although it's unlikely with...

    10,000 miles in a Model 3 (nearly) - Review

Great review - I'm jealous you made it to 10k before me. Ernie is at 8400, but he's only got 1 motor, so it's earning its keep. Surprised how fast your BMW got through tires, but it sounds like you drive them hard. Fully agree on the charging. It's much more convenient to leave home every day...

    Great first SC experience

So as expected the SC team at Bristol have been great. They had me away in a loan car ( S 85D) before 9. They spotted marks on the chrome that nobody else had noticed in 2 months. The car's ready and on charge I see ; where else does you car get filled up when it's serviced ? The remaining...

    Great first SC experience

Ernie is in at the Bristol SC 08:30 AM tomorrow ( delayed by me from end of Oct). Surprised to have a txt at 17:28 on Friday to say "please be advised this will be completed while you wait however a loan car is reserved in case the repair runs more than 3 hours". They had previously confirmed...

    Electric car newbie

Welcome to the brave new world - you'll be glad you joined. My vote on range is that the SR+ is a very capable car, and £60 per month wisely spent buys a lot of happiness in other ways. Ernie my SR+ is just 2 months old and has covered 6631 miles, so it's not holding him back. He's been all...

    Great first SC experience

I think QA is quality Assurance basically the same as Quality Control. with TQM (Total Quality Management) methods you’re typically start Ok, and keep getting better even when you have passed any “good enough” status. Improve because you can, and because it’s always cheaper to make it right...

    Great first SC experience

I agree they are much worse when it’s rainy. The SC have said they will look at it and maybe burnish them. I found other post saying that due to most breaking being regenerate the disks can corrode a bit which is rubbed off by driving with the brakes on. Not convinced as mine have squealed...

    The Tesla Spotted Thread

My wife said she passed a Black Tesla being winched onto a breakdown truck Northbound on M3 down near Southampton. Hope it’s not serious. Do they just load up for a puncture on the motorway now?

    Great first SC experience

Great to hear. My Ernie is booked in at Bristol SC for the end of this month. Minor paint issues from delivery and the brakes squeal like banshees when reversing especially when wet. Virtual service have been good so far. Looking forward to meeting the service team.

How often do you reboot ?

Just wondering how often people are needing to reboot. So far ( 1 month, 3000 miles) I've needed it twice. Both times on Version: 2019.32.2.2 1) Total sound failure. Ernie went completely quiet on me. No noise when indicating, no radio. Pulled over, gave the two finger salute...

    Common as muck

We’ve got 3X Model 3’s in the office car park now. We should enjoy our couple of months of them being “special “. Visitors from Silicon Valley last week said there people really are trading in regular Toyota’s because the running costs of a TM3 are so low. I will be slightly sad when’s TM3...

Aerodynamics? It had a hen house and a dozen lovely chickens when it went up to Cumbria, but yes it’s about as aero as the chucks ( can fly over a dry stone wall, but they need a run at it). Can anyone recommend a dog cover for the rear?

My wife insisted on extra tidying for Sophie’s social media debut. We got the L (large) which fits well, so I’m assuming US car sizes, the XL would probably fit aTMS or TMX which are six inches wider.

    USB phone cables for console

My alternative would be a charge mat. If you phone is compatible then this will change it and Bluetooth will connect it. No need to plug in and good for most recent phones. A friend with a TM3 has this and is very happy, so I’ll be getting one. For Tesla Model 3 Wireless Charger Board...

    Our biggest fear

What pleases you and annoys you most about your 3?

Good suggestion but so far the cars signal has roughly matched the phone. The WiFi seems less good in the car than my phone. I’ll get a power line to WiFi extension for home and enjoy the rare opportunity of getting lost until the cars get their star link upgrade.

Plenty of room for more EV's on the road - VW to officially launch ID.3 this evening

Really looking forward to a true mass market family EV. A Golf equivalent will be a tipping point towards real mass market adoption. What pleases you and annoys you most about your 3?

Internet is LTE (4G) reduces to 3G when needed. My annoyance at the moment is it can't get either where I park my car (very rural), so I can't map a destination before I drive off. That will be fixed by extending my wifi. However yesterday I found myself driving literally off the map; the...

Cloud based car sentry mode & dash cam footage

You may have seen something about the raspberry Pi that some owners use to do this. It’s a miniature computer that looks like a usb memory to the Tesla, but has WiFi so it can upload camera footage to your home or the cloud and can have music audio books etc written to the car. I’ve not seen...

Model 3 rear passenger light holes

Glad it's not just me ! I've reversed shockingly badly at both superchargers I've visited. Taken a couple of goes at forwards and back to get into what are quite generous spaces. Frunk vs Froot

My Mum had Beetle in the 70's and we called it the boot (but at there was only one it's not ambiguous). We called the car many things - almost impossible to change the spark plugs, and would put the old oil from our Peugeot 405 into the Beetle because it would burn through it in weeks...

    Tow Hitch Waiting Room

Yes it's removable. There is even a plastic blanking plate that covers the underside where the tow bar connects to restore the smooth underside when it's not in use. I'll take some photo's, but I think there's a you tube clip of someone in Europe fitting one.

Final Invoice Black Horse HP - should the loan be included ?

Good to hear I'm not the only one, but disappointed that this process is so chaotic. Happily Tesla (One of the SC staff from West Drayton) called me. They said their Final invoice is incorrect as the loan is not accounted for. Like you Black Horse are providing less than I requested. In my...
