Not so easy on the RHD - it's a different setup. There are three clips, but they don't release the panel enough to see the whole part number (the panel is connected to the glove box somehow). I will explore tomorrow with an inspection camera.

The last three Mercedes I have owned have had water-based paint. My understanding is that they have been using water-based paints since around 1998.

Thanks for posting the great video - very exciting day. The defects look relatively minor and fixable with no major rework. Will be interesting to see what the story is with the bumper. I hope you get to claim some time in it. Btw, the blue looks great.

No, I don't have a VIN either. All good - happy to take delivery when they have a bit more time after the September madness.

When I ordered my Model 3, the forms said that delivery was not available to my address in the centre of Canberra. I was told that I would need to pick-up from Sydney - suits me - no worries about trucks, forced acceptance etc.

The problem is that such (avoidable) damage is rarely fixed properly. In the past I had a new BMW and Mercedes with paint defects on delivery. The 'brand new' BMW had sanding marks left under the clear coat. The Mercedes had a paint run on the bonnet (probably the result of an earlier...

Agreed - they really need to take more care of new cars - especially as we have reports of soft paint on Model 3s
