Tesla informed me that the model 3 VIN assignment method is different than with the S and X. Rather than assigning the VIN prior to production, Model 3's don't get VIN's until production is finished. I was told this by both my SA and some folks at the Fremont Delivery Center.

Damn, sorry to hear that. I ordered the same configuration as you on 8/15. I was hoping I'd get an update soon but if you don't even have a VIN yet then I've probably got a long wait ahead of me lol.

Ordered P3D+ on 8/15: MSM Black and White Premium Interior No FSD Heard nothing since then. I called Tesla last week and they told me my car could be delivered as early as next week. Don't really believe that after reading the previous comments on this thread though.
