    F1 goes electric (partially anyway)

Wow interesting. I wish they had some more info 20-25 mins of run time for 1-1.5 hrs of charge isn't bad.

    F1 goes electric (partially anyway)

Or quick charged if they could develop it. I'm hoping the FIA follows through with the EV Grands prix but I think they may unfortunately have to allow for another gimmick in the regulations to get a large interest (e.g. Chaparral 2j like designs). Otherwise it will take a few years of...

Tesla Roadster VS 911 Turbo (Motorsport magazine)

The Porsche has one of the best AWD systems on the planet, so no its not about traction control. The instant torque of the roadster and the bad launch by the porsche driver made the difference in this situation

June 2010: Musk shows future models at Wall Street "Road Show"

Looked around and didn't see this yet so excuse me if this is a repost. http://www.4wheelsnews.com/tesla-shows-future-models/ I'm really liking the looks of the cabriolet

    Ugh. Minor Accident.

Bummer about the accident Unfortunately I've learned the hard way that if there's no collision it's your fault. I was riding a motorcycle when a woman pulled out in front of me. I hit some sand and the bike went down and got a couple of good scratches and bent handle bars. When the cop...

    Braking issues ...

well if you're engaging ABS too early your tires are the problem any upgrade to the applied braking force is just going to cause ABS to engage that much more quickly. As far as fitment goes I would imagine if the calipers are the same anything that will fit on the elise should work. I'm sure...

    Bike vs. Roadster

If you're talking about carbon footprint wouldn't you want to include the emissions created by building/ shipping the roadster and all of its parts?

    Random Roadster Sightings

Extremely random yellow roadster sighting (my first one I've seen in the flesh) in Beaufort SC of all places. Never in my life would I have expected to see it in such a small town in sc. At first I couldn't believe my eyes and had to laugh to myself when my immediate gut reaction was to...

Roadster classified SS for SCCA Solo Autocrossing

I doubt they will allow it in the ST classes as most other SS cars are ineligible for ST classes anyway they go straight to *SP with any mods not allowed in stock class. Obviously the classification based on engine size is pointless I would imagine they would class it based on output and weight.

Model S Dashboard and console controls

The thing that stands out to me is that it looks like they are using Google for their navigation application. I know from using my iPhone as I'm sure some of you are too that Google (atleast for iphone) isn't the best navigation app out there. It won't give turn by turn or recalculate your...

The AWD (All Wheel Drive) option

    And much much more reliable

The AWD (All Wheel Drive) option

Well one thing is differentials create parasitic drive train power loss. Whether or not they are more efficient than having four motors IDK. I know, for example, with my car a subaru STi (w/ performance AWD) the output of the motor at the crank on average has been 300 hp+ and on average on...

    Model S vs BMW M3

Maybe in aesthetics but in performance the M3 has the edge its a well built machine. It does burn dead dinosaurs though so......

The AWD (All Wheel Drive) option

From a performance standpoint most awd systems won't handle as well as a similarly setup rear wheel drive version. A good example is BMW's 335 the rear wheel drive actually handles better on tarmac although it won't have as much traction in the snow. This is because the front tires get...

    WhiteStar styling ideas

Who knows if these are the actual lines of the car. Many car co's have been known to camoflage a car that hasn't been released yet. Some car companies will purposefully loose camo as testing goes on to allow teaser shots. I think this could be the case here but I easily could be wrong?

    Venturi Volage

Some good points. What will changing a tire be like on one of these? Me thinks the venturi will handle like crap with its ultra skinny snow racing tires and loads of unsprung weight. To me this isn't a performance car its a gimmick to show off Michelin's new technology.

T-Roadster, bound to be interesting track car.

Also being a certified track day junky myself one thing I worry about is the ability for the emergency crews to deal with an EV in a crash. Not that it would be any more dangerous than a fuel filled race car/ bomb but the emergency crews at any roadcourse are trained and equiped to deal with...

Formula one should ditch the internal combustion engine

Awesome I'm glad some one is actually starting to realize how great EV's would be for racing and racing for them. This is actually typical for a race display. Speedometers are useless in a race, a tachometer is what you want. I guess in an electric one speed race car that would be useless...

Road and Track test drives the Roadster

I can understand Tesla cutting out "power braking" (What its called holding the brake and gas at a standstill) to save the motor from being overheated. As has been said before on an electric drivetrain powerbraking does very little as there is no torque converter and fewer drivetrain components...
