Thanks all for your input, I know a few other have jumped in since my further query this morning and think essentially it has been answered, Just plug in when home and either stop charge or set Tesla not to charge until 11:30 and then IO will take what it needs to reach required SOC weather...

It is probably me! I think my question is will it cover everything under off peak even if I want to put in more kw than would be possible in the ‘6 hour’ slot? So effectively I could charge from 0-100% every day on IO off peak rate?

As dave, m3 over the ID3, i think is far better value for money than the ID3 as well, especially if you are planning on longer jounreys and needing to charge away from home. ive had my SR+ since early Nov just over 12k miles, no issues with anything yet on mine, not had to return to SC at all...
