    Supercharger - Morrisburg, ON

I'm not interested in driving to Nipigon specifically. I'm driving to Englehart and Timmins. Hearst is currently out of the question without a CCS or Chademo connector or a slower L2 charge along the way. When there are some NACS chargers along Highway 11, I'll feel a lot better...

    Supercharger - Morrisburg, ON

If I was going to use a gas car for trips, I'd have stayed with my Leaf and not bought the Tesla.

    Supercharger - Morrisburg, ON

Well, I certainly have no problem with "stop when you need to stop", but other areas in Ontario need it more than the Gananoque to Morrisburg section of the 401. Highway 11 from North Bay to Nipigon is a 10 hour drive with *zero* superchargers. Timmins is on the edge of my range from any...

With Brockville coming online in a month or two, they might think Prescott would be redundant.

    Supercharger - Brockville, ON

I won't be heading that way until summer, unfortunately.

    Supercharger - Brockville, ON

With this one and Morrisburg both just appearing, I'm starting to wonder if there's something around St. Zotique or the Salaberry-de-Valleyfield exit that no one's noticed yet.

    Supercharger - Morrisburg, ON

That'll make the trip to Montreal less stressful in cold weather. Excellent!

    Eastern Canada Superchargers

Yeah, There are Chademo and CCS chargers near New Liskeard as well. I was hoping by now there would be Tesla chargers, and I'm not sure I want to spend the $350 + tax for a CCS adapter I'd use just a few times before someone installs a NACS charger up that way.

    Eastern Canada Superchargers

Anyone travel north of Highway 17 in Ontario much? I have family in Timmins and Englehart. I've put in suggestions for superchargers in both towns, but in the meantime, what do other people do? My MYLR can reach Tmmins directly from Sudbury and a L2 charger in Timmins to make it back...

There are two laying on the ground.

    Supercharger - Brockville, ON

Indeed, crossing the border to charge is a no-go. I don't usually take my passport

    Canada Waiting Room

Wow order lead times have really come down if it show up that quickly

    Supercharger - Bracebridge, ON

Just there. The snow was only cleared on one side. And one had to back right into the snowbank to get close enough to the charger for some of them

Barrie Supercharger (South) - handles in snow

I'm here now. Some are in the snow. 1a 1b and 2a all refused to charge.

    SuperCharger - North Bay, ON

To more correctly state it, Abetterrouteplanner.com says it has "limited access or function". In winter I need that link to reach family up near Englehart, so that's got me wondering.
  16. alesgaroth

    SuperCharger - North Bay, ON

Is there anything wrong with the North Bay Supercharger? Abetterrouteplanner.com seems to be convinced it's an L2 charger and avoids it, and the last plugshare checkin reported 57kWh.

There is now. They've been merged

Thanks, I don't know why there were two threads.

The other thread has pictures to show it's been built and waiting for hookup.

    Supercharger - Madoc, ON

Was anything said about Bracebridge and Port Severn? Construction at Port Severn started 5 months ago.

    Supercharger - Port Severn, ON

Has anyone heard on why this one is taking so long? 5 months seems excessive even for Hydro One.

This looks good. I'll be passing this way for Christmas. It'll be nice to use it.

    Eastern Canada Superchargers

Oh, I was hoping to one day do the trip from Montreal to Kirkland Lake on the Quebec side. My in-laws are likely leaving Montreal in the next year or two, so probably won't be to Montreal much again after that.

It's $250USD on the US site. $325CAD on the Canada site.

    7-seat config waiting room

Plenty of room for my kids two backless boosters in thr third row. We've had them there plenty. I usually keep the third row down for easy use of cargo.
  26. alesgaroth

    Supercharger - Gananoque, ON

That's what I mean. If they're finished now, and Hydro One takes 2 weeks, it'll be on in Q3. If they're still building it right to the 30th, there's very little likelihood of hydro one turning them on that day.
  27. alesgaroth

    Supercharger - Gananoque, ON

Is there anyone who can get updated pictures? Tesla's findus page says this has a target opening of Q3 which ends in 2 weeks. I'd guess they should be close to done construction now if they want Hydro to turn it on before the end of the month.

Supercharger - Kingston, ON (Dalton Ave)

We were through Kingston today around 11:30. The navigation said the older station was full so I drove to Dalton Ave supercharger. It was full, but after a 5 minute wait someone pulled out. I just got plugged in when an M3 drove up. The driver started asking if we were getting charge and...

Ivy is already in Temiskaming Shores at 998029 Highway 11, Temiskaming Shores ON, Canada. There's 2 CCS and 2 ChaDeMo and in Timmins at 2207 Riverside Dr, Timmins, ON P4R 1N4, Canada

    Eastern Canada Superchargers

Yes, there is that stretch. But even getting to either end of that stretch is nigh impossible with a Tesla. Possible if you want to use L2 changers.

    Eastern Canada Superchargers

Would anyone have news, rumours, or speculation about Ontario Hwy 11 between North Bay and Nipigon, and Hwy 101 to Timmins? I have family in Northeastern Ontario, and while my LRY will make it, there's times it would be much more convenient to be be able to charge on the go. If I could buy a...

    Supercharger - Kincardine, ON

I have not done the whole lenght of hwy 21, but the sections I have been on (Owne Sound to Goderich) I can say no, not really much in the way of lake views. There are roads closer to the shore for much of that distance, but views there are few.
  35. alesgaroth

    Supercharger - Brockville, ON

Thanks for saying so. Makes me nervous that these aren't easy to work, and makes me wonder if I should ever plan to use them.
  36. alesgaroth

    Eastern Canada Superchargers

Nothing new for North Eastern Ontario. Timmins, Cochrane, and Kirkland Lake are still out of reach of the supercharger network. Last summer I took 144 up to Timmins and about halfway from Sudbury the car told me to make sure I knew where I was going to charge which would have been scary if I...

Supercharger - Kingston, ON (Dalton Ave)

I hadn't had a chance to apply the latest update. (No wifi for the car for the week previous), so not sure that was it. The older supercharger is a shared 150kw charger, so I didn't completely disbelieve it.

Supercharger - Kingston, ON (Dalton Ave)

Drove through yesterday. This one was full so we were redirected to the other one. Car told me an hour and a half. Charged for 10 minutes then the in car Nav said Dalton Ave had free slots so I moved over there. 4 white Teslas were charging. 30 minutes and we were ready to go.

    Supercharger - Bracebridge, ON

I don't know. Based on the way we've recently rarely seen multiple superchargers being installed simultaneously in Ontario, I guess just the one crew. But maybe it's several crews around a much bigger area than Ontario.
  40. alesgaroth

    Supercharger - Bracebridge, ON

Well, a crew just finished in Kingston, let them have a break for Christmas and maybe they'll start the Brockville one after the weekend.
  41. alesgaroth

Supercharger - Kingston, ON (Dalton Ave)

Planning to be in that area around noon Wednesday. If it's in the in car Nav by then I'll skip Belleville and stop by. Otherwise maybe on the way back.
  42. alesgaroth

    Supercharger - Brockville, ON

Since they're currently installing in Kingston, maybe the crew will move on to Brockville next.
  43. alesgaroth

Supercharger - Kingston, ON (Dalton Ave)

I'm travelling past Kingston next week. I'm guessing they won't be all hooked up by then. Even with the prefab superchargers, 10 days seems a little much to ask for.
  44. alesgaroth

Supercharger - Kingston, ON (Dalton Ave)

That's great news! I'm sure lots of people would prefer Brockville though. But this should speed up people stopping to charge at Kingston on long weekends.
  45. alesgaroth

    Supercharger - Kingston ON

With the news that they're building another supercharger across the street I expect everything to change in a few weeks. Whether it'll be in time for the holidays, I wonder.

Is Phantom Braking Still a Problem?

I've noticed it less, but it could be I'm using the adaptive cruise less as well. A few days after I posted that the hood latch sensor failed and the car was convinced the hood was up and refused to let me use cruise. I drove the next day for 6 hours without cruise and haven't really used...

    Supercharger - Kingston ON

I'll second that advice. Make sure to pay attention to the in car Nav. The August long weekend I did my first trip that way and as we were passing Belleville it told me the Kingston supercharger was full and there was a wait. I should have stopped in Belleville. As it was I had to wait for at...

    Supercharger - Kingston ON

Is Port Hope empty? I stopped there August long weekend and saw 4 or 5 other Telsas either leaving as I arrived, charging, or arriving as I left. For me Port Hope is the perfect spot for a bio break coming from KW. Port Hope -> Brockville -> Point Claire would break up the trip mostly evenly.

There's 3 broken stalls now? That doesn't bode well for Christmas travelling.
