    Supercharger - Hines, OR

So looking at the picture from Fri, the biggest "hole" is the transformer - is it on the ground yet (but out of the picture)?

    Supercharger - Hines, OR

Has anyone heard when they expect to be operational? I have a trip to do and it would save me a lot of time if I could go thru Burns!

News for Model X owners with the dreaded shudder

How many miles before it showed up again? It is also possible that the 2019 model has some modification that helps the new parts to last longer (note that I didn't have the clevis assembly changed), but I will obviously keep an eye on it!

News for Model X owners with the dreaded shudder

Oh, also remember that my X is a late 2019 model.

News for Model X owners with the dreaded shudder

My part numbers differ slightly: FRONT HALFSHAFT, MODEL X, LH PM(1027113-00-B) RIGHT HALFSHAFT, MODEL X, RH PM(1027119-00-B) The nut and safety washers are the same and somewhat irrelevant here. Note that I did not have a Clevis assembly change.

News for Model X owners with the dreaded shudder

My apologies - I should have updated. Yes, I finally did get the parts installed in Sept - and the shudder is completely eliminated, even at higher suspension settings! So I have to take my hat off to the Tesla engineers. It may have taken a long time, but they have indeed finally solved the...

News for Model X owners with the dreaded shudder

Perhaps, but I'd prefer to see how the redesigned assembly works before taking that step. As an engineer, I find the notion of a drivetrain "shuddering" itself apart under load to be rather disturbing. Other car companies have produced variable-height suspensions that overcame these problems...

News for Model X owners with the dreaded shudder

So an update on my prior post. I visited the Portland service center on Monday and had a chat with the folks there. I learned that Tesla has indeed redesigned the powertrain to resolve the shudder problem. However, they are still installing the "old" parts, or at least were still doing so last...

News for Model X owners with the dreaded shudder

I started a separate thread about this, not realizing this one existed - my bad. I purchased my brand new X in Sept 2019 and it "shuddered" right out of the lot. Multiple chats with the local service person (who basically blew me off) and finally visited the Portland service center - who said...

    Drivetrain "shimmy" a "feature"?

Yep, that is it! I'm headed into the shop on Monday (windshield wasn't fit properly and whistles, but we had to wait for the pandemic to subside a little locally before fixing it), and I'll be sure to mention this again. Thanks so much for the help!

    Drivetrain "shimmy" a "feature"?

I appreciate the feedback! Sorry for incorrect terminology - what I was attempting to describe was shaking of the steering wheel and a slight vibration felt in the car. Definitely different from what one experiences from wheel imbalance, though I'll have that checked just to be sure. I have...

    Drivetrain "shimmy" a "feature"?

I took delivery of a new X last Oct and immediately noticed that a "shimmy" in the drivetrain as it accelerated thru 35mph, especially on a hill where more power had to be applied. It feels almost exactly the same as the "shimmy" alert you get when crossing a strip on the road. I immediately...

Impressions of the Model 3 and Tesla service after 2 months of ownership

I think people confuse a couple of things. I have seen little, if any, negative comments about the service centers. Indeed, my experience with them has always been positive. However, for those of us living remote from a service center, the service experience has been less satisfying. Remote...

    A Great Tesla Service Experience

I'm glad someone is having a good experience - I am ripping my hair out in frustration. My cruise control isn't working as they tell me it should, so I go out and gather data as they direct. I then pass it back over IM as that is their only method of interaction. Hours go by with no response. I...

    Model X Road Trips

We could use a little advice. We have a new Model X (long range) and are planning a trip across eastern Oregon to Colorado. The key piece of the trip is to get across eastern Oregon as there is no charging infrastructure in that region. Departing from Bend, the Tesla route planner takes you to...

    Model X Tesla Window Shades!

Anybody know of a partial shade for just the top of the windshield? My wife doesn't like the bright glare coming thru the upper windshield on long drives during sunny days, so I'd like to just darken the overhead portion of the windshield.
