    Supercharger Full

I haven't had the pleasure of experiencing that situation yet, as these "dual purpose" chargers seem to be rolling out in your neck of the woods first. What will be worse is when vehicles like the EF150 occupy two stalls to charge. Standardization of plug placement on vehicles will also need...

Is hand washing the only option

What SalisburySam said 👍 I have cared for two Teslas, over three+ years, and enjoyed a clean car using automated car washes. That said, the door window moldings will discolor, unless you have them apply a coating of some type. I have them dress these parts with their dash cream, or whatever...

2020 MYLR climate failure - heat pump replacement out of warranty $$$

A note to OP. First, I encourage you to have the repair performed. Second, related to mobile service just performed on my car. Replace the cabin air filters at the same time. Mine were pretty badly clogged at 2.6 years and 26000 miles. They looked like an overfull vacuum cleaner bag and had...

    1yr battery degradation report

Thank you for sharing this data. At a little more than 2yrs, and 23000 miles I was looking at 16.14% degradation, at least according to the BMC. This is the procedure I used to reset the BMC, after sorting out recommendations on this forum and youtube. I made two 400 mile round-trips within...

Autel 50 amp MaxiCharge for Tesla Y

To add my experience to your mention of 40amp efficiency. I experimented with my Tesla app, using my L2 Tesla Wall Charger (2nd generation I'm pretty sure). I used settings from 32 amp to 48, and compared the charging efficiency reported by TeslaFi. I landed on 40 amp as most efficient...

    Load Shed Module?

Perhaps there is different functionality on the app for your 2014 S85, or perhaps there is different functionality on Apple phones vice other smart phones. Or perhaps I am just misunderstanding your point. With my 2021 MYLR I can adjust the amperage while charging, using my Apple phone app...

    Following Distance Change for FSD.

First Interstate travel this weekend since the latest FSD Beta. I'm on 2022.45.15. I couldn't figure out how to reduce following distance. The right steering wheel toggle now brings up assertiveness setting for the autopilot instead. I found my explanation in the MS forums, so thought I...

Update v. 2022.45.12 Following Distance Adjustment Gone

I missed it also, and couldn't find it in the owner's manual. I set assertiveness on chill, thinking it would allow me more autonomy and FSD less. Three hours on the interstate today and I'm disengaging and re-engaging NAP because I couldn't close up the following distance. It was...

    Model Y acceleration pedal

I'll throw this out for consideration. I normally drive in chill mode. This seems to be a trigger for some, so I won't argue that this is the preferred way to drive a Tesla. I purchased boost for my car, and when I'm in the mood I do enjoy it. However, Chill mode gives you an easier "tip-in"...

    MY accelerated on it’s own!

Yeah, that's what I believe the horn is supposed to do, assuming you have activated that feature in your settings. However, I never seem to remember to do that until well after an incident - and I dislike using the horn anyway. I would prefer to see them give us back the option of pressing a...

    MY accelerated on it’s own!

This happened to me a couple of times after inadvertently activating cruise control before pulling out of my driveway. After the second time I figured it out and was more careful of the right stalk. Careless on my part. "Auto accel" quit with braking and then disengaging by pushing the right...

Cabin temperature shooting up while SC’ing.

The fan sound is normal, as others have said. My take is that this is demonstrating the magic of Tesla's engineering masterpiece - the octo-valve. This valve directs cooling or heating to wherever it is needed, whether driving or charging. I'm pretty certain its primary function while...

Cabin temperature shooting up while SC’ing.

I've been using the iPhone app for 3.5 years now. It has never updated on its own. Periodically, I go to the app store, click on the body of the app description, not the "open" tab, and if an update is available it pops up the "update" button. Click on it. Hope this helps.

    MY vs M3 acceleration feel

I swapped my 2020 Model 3 with AB for my 2021 Model Y, also with boost. My impression the same as yours. Performance and driving feel very similar. Most noticeable difference is seat height.

Cabin temperature shooting up while SC’ing.

For the benefit of OP, who is a new owner, this is the Cabin Overheat Protection function. You can set Max temp at 100 degrees, 90 degrees or as low as 80 degrees. Best done each day from the Safety menu in your car, but can also be set in the app, at the bottom of the Climate page. Sorry if...

Tesla mobile service replaced 12V lead acid battery

My experience, at 22000 miles was very similar. Requested new battery through app, expecting to pay for it. Done at no charge. From what the tech told me, the battery did not test well to them, and had prevented the a/c system OTA update/recall, which he did in my driveway.

Tesla Model Y build quality, manufacturing refinement and assembly

Well, I don't have much taste for Kool-Aid, but heading into my fourth year owning a Tesla, I am quite satisfied. FWIW I concede that your negative comments are accurate, and well founded. Nevertheless, the whole of the ownership experience has gone quite well for me. The supercharger...

Update to 2022.44.2 or wait for 2022.44.5 (holiday update)

So were .1 and .2. I have FSD and was comparing to the post mentioning the earlier FSDb upgrades. Also, I get the hyperbolic 99% remark. But, FSD accounts for 28% of the sample group that is monitored in my Stats App. To your comment, I wouldn't pay the upfront fee for FSD today. Much too...

Bought Tesla Model Y from Inventory

I'm with you 'bro. 76 in January. We grew up with cars with longer body overhang. Wheels have moved farther out to the corners in the last decade or so. Especially so with your MY. Just try to go farther out on the turns. I still cut it too close sometimes. Congrats on the purchase. I am...

Does Model Y trim still discolour from carwash?

I had the problem at the car wash that I use. We solved it by wiping the trim with the same product that they use for dash treatment. It has been effective for two years now.

Will Tesla perform a 12v lithium-ion upgrade on request?

Answer to that question, received from Service Center this morning: "No that's not an option at this time". That statement gives me pause re ohmmu or other third party. So, 12V conventional battery replacement will happen soon. I don't wait for them to fail. Cheers.

Will Tesla perform a 12v lithium-ion upgrade on request?

OK, I've searched threads to try to get an answer. I have read a lot of opinions and discussion. But I have not seen a definitive answer as to whether Tesla will perform an upgrade from a conventional 12V battery (as in my 2021 MY Long Range) to their new lithium-ion battery at customer...

    Key fob vs. washing machine

Dittos to your comments on the fob. I hang my house key on mine - yep, still analog in that department. I have laundered mine at one time or another - both of them. Old and absent minded. Both were fine with a battery replacement. Cheers.

MYP ‘22 aka The Vomit Comet

    auto time zone updates

Has this functionality changed somewhere along the line? I traded my 2020 Model 3 in on a 2021 Model Y. Both of my cars used to automatically update the clock when passing into a new time zone, even though this sometimes took some time - maybe a half hour or so. My Model Y no longer does...

Help me debunk/support rumor that only 3 out of 4 Model Y tires contact road during turns

I can corroborate this, also from auto-crossing in the 80's. 911's would regularly lift a front wheel. VW Rabbits would lift a rear. There were others. These cars still did very well in their respective classes.

I test drove Hyundai Ioniq 5 SEL RWD (short review)

My wall charger is the previous generation, installed in 2019 when I took delivery of my Model 3. Traded that a year later for my Model Y. Wall charger still going strong. I had an electrician install it on a 60 AMP circuit. The car restricts the charging current to 48 amps. I use the Tesla...

Halfshaft - rear drive unit (CV boot)

CV boots live a hard life. To have one in four leak after 28k miles is not unusual in my experience - thirty years in fixed operations of a GM dealership. They were a common service item for our customers, both within the warranty, and out. Glad to hear Tesla addressed it for you quickly...
