I switched my order to AWD in Feb, just got an order confirm for sometime this month.

You have to accept current pricing and edit the existing order to what you would like. I edited mine to AWD, I cannot wait that long.

As expected, performance orders are being delivered in a few weeks.

If you want to future proof your setup, run a 2 gauge aluminum wire from your main panel to a sub panel. From there set up your 6 gauge wire to supply the 60 amp circuit for now. If in the future you need 100 amp service, you can run copper 2 gauge to the Charger. The newest wall connector’s...

I made a second order for $100. The local tesla sales rep said that they would refund the $100 if needed when we get contacted to make a change to the order.

I just got a call from Tesla...he said if you want your Model Y sooner, edit your order for an AWD. They will be producing and fulfilling the RWD orders, but it wont be for awhile (8-12+ months).

It’s really not that difficult to please everyone. Offer a product that you’re going to produce, simple as that. If you’re not going to make it, don’t take orders for it.

Before I cancel or modify my order...Tesla said they would be contacting the RWD owners in March.

I chatted with the Tesla people again...both times they stated they would be in touch with RWD customers when production begins to discuss our "options". They could not provide further info.

That's a stretch when you put a deposit to order a product, then they no longer offer to sell it. Limbo!

I dont see how it's possible they would give away the upgrade to AWD from RWD...Are people who ordered the AWD going to get a credit? Doesn't make sense. My concern is that the RWD car wont be made for a long time.

Looks like they updated my order with the Gemini wheels. Like I said, I’m curious what the LR RWD range is vs the AWD. Historically the AWD has less range vs RWD?

My LR RWD order adjusted recently, by no change from me, they dropped the RWD, and upgraded the wheels to the base LR AWD wheels. Who knows what we’re actually getting now.

That would be hard to believe as it is almost a $5k difference ($48k to $52.9k).

What happens to our RWD LR order now that the order page doesn’t show the car anymore? Bump in AWD range, but no idea what happens to the RWD range? You would think it would also increase with only have one motor vs two?

I understand the pros and cons of the HPWC vs tesla MC. I have my wiring already installed in my parking spot for a HPWC. I'm asking does it make sense to order it now and have it on hand...or just wait? Maybe they will come out with a new version?

Is there any reason to wait to buy a HPWC? I got my wiring set up and blocked off. Not sure I see a point to buying it now and installing it when the car may not come home for another 8 months or longer.

Are you basing that on the Model 3 production history? With parts sharing and a similar chassis, it seems that production will be able ramp up at a completely different rate vs what happened with the 3.

Is there really a benefit to putting a deposit down right now vs ordering when they are in consistent production? What is the advantage? You might get a month or 2 sooner or more? Thanks!
