Vendor Teslas on track - events coming up.

I did a few cool-down laps with mostly no brakes, track mode on, it gets you the most aggressive regen function, pretty good. The track day was great :)

Tesla Support Frustrations - Hacked Account

It happened to me on Sunday morning. In my case the hacker strategy was to flood my personal email account (linked to the Tesla account) with spam registration emails to all sorts of genuine websites, hoping I won’t observe the “order received” or “order dispatched” emails. I did catch the...

Hacker daylight robbery from my Tesla account - beware!

I’ve got the recipient full name and address but I don’t think I can raise a complaint to the US police. Will Tesla do it on my behalf? I’m not sure.

Hacker daylight robbery from my Tesla account - beware!

On Sunday morning I started receiving hundreds of spam emails into my personal Google account. As a precaution I changed passwords to all finance related sites and rode the wave out (marking all as Spam). Yesterday the wave is over and I got an “order despatched” email from Tesla, with a wall...

    Curvature - Twisty Road Finder

I love twisties, tackling a bendy road at normal speeds is far more challenging and rewarding than going in a straight line at great speed. Thanks for the site! Very good!

Three long trips. No range or charging anxiety

It's not really 15mins, you have to refill 3-4 times for that distance (1253 miles), you have to queue for paying, maybe queue for getting a pump etc. I'd reckon you're looking at 30-40mins vs 7h And there is a difference. You have to be physically present the whole time. While for the 7h, you...

Three long trips. No range or charging anxiety

And here was the bugger: day trip to Aberyswyth, energetic driving all the way there, reaching with 16% to find all 3 fast chargers not working. Spent a few hours on call with support, trying to get some juice in. Then limped back to Llandrindod Wells where - luckily - the 50kw WAS working! I...

Three long trips. No range or charging anxiety

Oh yes! Scotland was the highlight of the year for me! :) I reminded myself that I did actually have a trip with some anxiety. In Wales. Due to 3 50kw chargers not working in/around Aberystwyth ! :) But first.. here's a Wales trip in September that wasn't that bad. 3 days mountain biking in...

Three long trips. No range or charging anxiety

Scotland tour (from Bristol) over 4 days in September: 1253 miles driven, 23h24min time-driven, 7h34min time charging. Superchargers on the motorway and mostly 50kw chargers in Scotland. 1-minute charging for each 3 minutes driving, or 19min charging every hour driven. This trip was spent in...

My previous car was a M3 bimmer (Convertible - M4 actually), model 2016, 420HP and similar weight (about 100kg lighter). Autopilot and lane keeping

I paid £3400 last week to ugprade to “NoAA on motorways” half-upgrade, then used the lane change assist for a 7h journey across the country and wasn’t really impressed about it. It certainly is not worth the money.
  25. J0hn.r

    Enhanced Autopilot (EAP)

I would upgrade when these conditions are met: - The car can truly navigate from on-ramp to off-ramp without having to wait for my confirmation to change the lanes - It can detect slower moving cars accurately (let’s say 90%, not 50% as now), and with more insight (I can see it’s coming way...

    Enhanced Autopilot (EAP)

Umm...no, not yet I’m affraid. And not for £3600. I’ve requested a refund. In one phrase, the NoAA only brings a smoother lane change with less effort to make, when it works. It’s not “full auto pilot”, it still requires your absolute full attention and concentration in avoiding cars around you...

That is exactly what’s happening, 2% charge (two times) then a 5% charge (when initiated by the support team) then gives an error on the charger screen and stops charging. Car says something like “charger not ready” and you can disconnect it but the charging station and the app remain frozen at...

I challenged the dragon (Wales).. and I lost!

This is one of the reasons why I wouldn't buy a Tesla EV competitor, even if the price is better and the specs are similar. Even with the poor level of service at Tesla. They still have a huge advantage with the Supercharger network. Which just works! Just stick with areas that have one..

Yesterday I faced the dragon and lost.... a few hours of my life I planned to go to west Wales (Aberystwyth) from Bristol (276 miles total). 3 rapids in the vicinity (no SuC, are you kiddin'?? heh heh), all with successful charges a day before, no problem! My time is extremely limited, so even I enjoy washing it I'd rather be driving it :) so here's my method: Once every 2-3 months I call my favourite detailer (man-in-a-van) which does a proper end to end job: for £60 he will prewash, foam, wash properly (2-bucket style), clay bar, apply wax and...

    Questions after 1 Month

You can see this in the car too. Plugged in, switch off charging, turn on heater. Then look at the Charging screen. You can see it draws somewhere between 7-10A, then, if you switch off heating, that goes to 0-1 A. Turning on charging, it takes the maximum of 30A (7KW)

REMINDER: Leave a gap on V2 superchargers

How hard would it be for Tesla to provide a new feature that, when you arrive at your supercharger, the navigation map changes to a supercharger layout map that presents all used slots and picks the best available one for you? All in a nice graphical way. Also: when you are connected to a bay...

Considering charge losses, heating and vampire drain, what is the true Wh/mile?

So, Tesla updates Supercharger billing to add cost of electricity use for other than charging - Electrek I already have seen a post on Facebook with somebody being charged for 65kWh while adding 56kWh, which is about 16% extra cost. Kerb rash / alloy scuff

That's true, but it still hurts.. It is my biggest worry at the moment while driving the car, 100% attention to pot holes and kerbs. Not really anxious about range or anything else - which tells a good picture I think about the car overall. I wouldn't change the 20" to smaller wheels either...
