What firmware is your car running?

Glad it's fixed. What an unfortunate mess you had to go through with Tesla.

My issue was present on short drives or long. If it worked at the start of the drive it would remain working until the end of the drive. If it didn't work at the start of a drive it stayed broken for the entire drive short or long.

Unbelievable! How is it that Tesla can not diagnose this problem after multiple attempts? Yes it's a complicated machine but with all the data logging and troubleshooting software and years of production it's hard to understand why they do not seem to have the tools or knowledge to isolate...

I think I would. Make sure you have a good WiFi connection and download if it hasn't downloaded already. You're hoping for a software fix, this could be it.

Excellent news! I don't know if Tesla is just so reluctant to resend an update or it just takes them so long to queue it up. Good that you stayed on them.!

If you are running 2023.44.30.8 you might consider requesting 2023.44.30.9. There are bug fixes in there for something.

The Sentry stick and music sticks I have been using are formated FAT32.

I formatted a small (100 MB) drive in the exFAT format and loaded a dozen songs on it. The car recognized and played the 3 or 4 songs I selected just fine. I also loaded a small mp4 video on the stick. It saw it but would not play it.
