Tesla died in middle of an intersection

Maybe he just stopped because the screen died and didn't know you can drive without it? I have drove my model 3 with no screen even in the car. The model S might be different though.

    Driver door slow to open

The Bluetooth antenna is in the passenger side mirror. Not my picture. It will take a door a little bit longer to unlock if the car is in deep sleep. The first pull of the handle wakes the car. You are probably opening the back door when the car is already awake.

MY with 56K miles needs major suspension repairs - Over $4000

Take the car to a regular mechanic and ask them to take a look at it. There is nothing special about the suspension that requires Tesla. Don't tell them you already went to Tesla. A regular mechanic should just find the issue and fix it rather than try to replace all those parts. It should...

    Steering Assist Reduced

There are a few grounds visible when you take the frunk out. Not sure which one it is but just try to follow the steering column to the electric power steering unit. Then look for a wire going to the cars chassis and see it it's corroded. I wonder if this article is talking about this same...

    Stranded due to stuck windows

Short in the right rear motor. That makes sense. The service menu was saying motor undercurrent. So the power for the motor was shorting. They probably unplugged the rear motor and that front motor started working.

    Stranded due to stuck windows

Are your door puddle lights working? Do you have after market puddle lights?

Failed driver's seat weight sensor - downsides to ignoring? Repair cost estimate?

I have a 2020 model 3 but it's the same part number as the newer S. It's a little hard to find in the catalog because it's not under seats. It's under safety and restraints then seats belts. You are likey right that it's different for the pre-2017 cars. FIRST ROW OCCUPANCY SENSOR(1099592-00-F)

Failed driver's seat weight sensor - downsides to ignoring? Repair cost estimate?

At first when I read your comment I thought no way these sensors cost more than a few dollars. Then I looked up the BMW version and it's bmw. The Tesla version: my seat Bmw version:

Rear right parking sensor on MX2020 - DIY repair?

You take the bumper off and push them back in. Look up how to remove the bumper on YouTube. If you are comfortable doing it go for it. Tesla fixes them via mobile service. It might need 3m tape to hold it on.

Failed driver's seat weight sensor - downsides to ignoring? Repair cost estimate?

Hey just FYI, I replaced my second seat sensor recently. The warranty replacement lasted over a year and it went bad again... I bought the sensor from Tesla for $12. Replaced it myself in about an hour. You just take out the seat and pull the seat cover off. The sensor comes with double...

2023 Model 3 Cold weather, car acts (almost) like it's on cruise control when its not

You are right. They cut costs by taking out the parking sensors. It will never be as good as with them. They should have just raised the price of the car a little bit if they needed. The parking sensors are something that were well liked. The new highland now has rgb interior but they still...

2023 Model 3 Cold weather, car acts (almost) like it's on cruise control when its not

This is normal behavior in cold weather. Every Tesla does it. Scroll through the manual it's in there. "Regenerative braking can be limited if the Battery is too cold. As you continue to drive, the Battery warms up and regenerative power increases"...

Alarming rhythmic sound from front left at speeds over about 90km/h

You could have a bent wheel. If you have OEM 20in they bend often. If you have the 19 you could have a balance weight hitting the caliper. If you have 18in they don't fit performance models.
  14. P

    Thoughts on these wheel covers?

They are nice. You can order them here for cheaper. https://a.aliexpress.com/_mKbmx8o

Did they swap only the tires or they swapped the wheels and tires?

Thoughts on buying a used Model 3 from Hertz?

My parents have purchased 3 rental cars and all turned out fine. People also buy used cars all the time that were leased. Is there really that big of a difference between a rental and a car off lease? I know people that don't take care of their cars because it goes back in a few years.

Service Center Totaled my 2023 MXLR

If you flip the airbag module over the airbags go off as a roll over. If you use an impact on the module bolts they can go off as a collision. No clue why it happens just thinking about it and googling. You would think service mode locks this though. Maybe the car exists service mode when...

Service Center Totaled my 2023 MXLR

It's standard to disconnect the 12v batter for a while before working on the SRS Restraint control module of any car. It's designed to work in a catastrophic event so it needs to work no matter what if there is 12v power. Stray voltage could also set off a bag. The picture looks like he was...

    Marble rolling sound

Did you check the rear heat vents under the front seats? They are not protected from stuff rolling into them at all. I had a small screwdriver in mine once. Tesla is going to charge you money if they find something in them.

Walk away lock works 50% of the time

Could also be a phone issue. You turning Bluetooth off on your phone while in the car? It will disable walk away lock. You also need Bluetooth scanning always on. Maybe try resetting your Bluetooth settings on your phone.
  21. P

Walk away lock works 50% of the time

You can test the seat sensor in service mode. It's under seats and restraints. You tap the seat and it will say occupied then change to unoccupied when you lift your weight off.
  22. P

Walk away lock works 50% of the time

I replaced mine twice also. Second time I did it myself because no more warranty. I found out the techs folded the ribbon cable and that's probably why it stopped working second time. Sensor is $12 from Tesla.

    high frequency sound?

Normally mine does this also. It's louder in a certain throttle position. Almost neutral like when I am not accelerating or slowing. Its normal.
  24. P

    high frequency sound?

The car does generate a high frequency sound. Its normal. I can faintly hear it but most people I ask can't. I have a model 3 and can hear it when my rear seats are down. High frequency sounds are generated by a lot of electronics. High frequency sounds have been known to cause anxiety in dogs.

Auto Park/anti roll away feature stops car when creeping

Hey I just fixed this on my car. It's the seat occupancy sensor. You can go into the service menu and see it not working. Go to safety and restrains then seats. Tap the driver's seat and it should say occupied when you are sitting, unoccupied when not. It's only $12 from Tesla. I changed...

Tesla Owners Club of NYS Information Leak

Yes I seen this months ago and they told me it's been taken down and they deleted my account. Sure enough everyone's info is still public. I look forward to all the future junk email and calls for extended warranty.

New all metal FUCA oem for model 3

I fixed mine myself. I popped the ball joint out, injected some more grease into it and rotated it around a few times. No more squeaks for now. If it comes back I will buy some fancy new ones.

Someone should try a hydrophobic per filter sock and put it over the backside of the intake by the firewall.

I just want to point out that even with all that guy is doing in his videos... He claims to still not know how to solve the problem. All we know is the end is his filter is still wet.

New all metal FUCA oem for model 3

You must be kidding me. They replaced mine May 6th and they did not use the new version you have. Sure enough I am on here searching for solutions because my front left side is squeaking like a chirping bird. I've only driven on the replacement 5,000 miles. My warranty expired in November...

    Blurry view when in reverse

That is your new High-Fidelity Park Assist update. That is what the computer actually sees and is dynamically rendered. The reason it looks different when driving is because normal autopilot uses predefined models for objects. That's why all objects just look the same in autopilot even when...

10 Days out of warranty Model 3 heating failure...

Ask them what they will be replacing them buy the parts and replace it yourself. Tesla charges $250 an hr labor so it's not an expensive part or a difficult part to replace. My driver's seat occupancy sensor went bad two weeks past my warranty. Tesla wanted $300 to fix it. They sold me the...

Model 3 performance wheels can you put the 20 inch performance model 3 Uberturbine wheels on a LR Model 3? will they fit ?

It is not true. The spacing issue is performance model 3s can't use 18in because their brakes are bigger. Your LR has no spacing issue.

State of Charge plummeting in cold weather

I often see this. My battery percentage just drops while parked in winter. It doesn't recover when you warm up the battery. You will also get the blue snowflake and line that will go away eventually. Maybe it has to do with voltage drop from the cold. It just reads lower. Then to heat the...

I love my M3 but I HATE the floor mats!

Weird you have this issue with the OEM mats. I've had the car over 4 years and my OEM mats don't move at all. I literally have to peel them away from the floor when cleaning the car. I cannot move them even if I try. I wonder what's different about your mats or carpet.
  42. P

I love my M3 but I HATE the floor mats!

I don't have an issue with the standard carpet mats. How are yours bunching up? The OEM floor mats have an entire back of Velcro. They don't move at all. It's kind of funny that people sometimes spend more money on floor mats than the cost of the carpet itself.

Window Pops Up When Opening Door...Why?

Audi has been doing this for years. It would be nice if they added the feature to the model 3 with a software update because my car door sounds pretty bad when I close it with the window all the way down. Go to 6:38 of this video. Go to 1:16 on this video.
  45. P

Window Pops Up When Opening Door...Why?

It's to stop the window to rattling inside the door. This is not the only car that does it. It's been done on other rimless window cars before. https://insideevs.com/news/494547/easy-fix-cure-model-3-window-issue/
  46. P

Window Pops Up When Opening Door...Why?

That is to keep the window from flopping around inside the door when you close it. The seal on the door holds the top of the window because of it's shape.

Creaking/rattling(?) noise on new M3P from 40mph on

That sounds like its something in the cabin vibrating. Download a tone generator app on your phone. Connect to bluetooth and run through the frequencies slowly playing through your cars speakers. You should be able to hear it eventually and track it down.

Model 3 (Stealth) Performance - 5y ownership, service history + high battery degradation?

I read a few articles on that study from recurrent. The articles make it sound like supercharging is the same but I have some questions. I am learning a lot about batteries lately lol. They are comparing these cars but how many cycles of charges and what maximum charge level? We know...

Model 3 (Stealth) Performance - 5y ownership, service history + high battery degradation?

I wonder if people are eventually going to start paying attention to this calculation when purchasing used cars. There are people that only supercharge to 90% every day and you would want to pay less for a battery treated like that.

    Unlock without starting HVAC/Radio

If the screen is not on the HVAC is not on. You might be hearing the water pump or the fan just running. The computer is water cooled. When the car is awake it's on. It will go into deep sleep after a while. If the car is charging it will stay on. You may hear buzzing, pumps, fans and...
