Yes a car as smart as this should know when you are thinking of going somewhere. LOL. "If you unlock the car with the app, the daylight running lights will stay on for a little while" I guess this will have to do for now. Not ideal and a safety issue as well. thanks

Thanks for the replies and reassurance that this is NOT a problem! So as I suspected, when park is depressed, there is an electric hydraulic pump that pressurizes the rear break pads? And when park is depressed longer it pressurizes at a higher pressure?

When I park in my M3 in my garage on these cold nights the Parking Brake seems to stick in the morning, because when I put it in reverse and start to move there is a loud one time bang type noise like a stuck brake. Anybody else know what i am talking about? Mark

I played with this last night. In auto pilot, a car stopped on front of me, then my car came to a stop, then tested... 1) a) with no peddles pressed, lift stalk up (half or all the way). AP cancels. b) Lift again. nothing happens because brake is not pressed. 2) a) press brake. AP cancels...

Another thing to be aware is when backing up! Not realizing you went even slightly over 5 MPH then pressing shift down to go forward and pressing your foot down with a car behind you! HELLO!

I Agreed. I have done this as well. But I think if you raise the shift lever all the way up once while in auto pilot and under 5 MPH it will cancel the auto pilot and a second raise WILL put it in reverse. I will test this soon.

Good suggestions. I just curb murdered a brand new X-ice making it slowly leak and had nothing in the car to help. I had to skip going to the movie and race to Firestone and get one of my summer tires to temp keep me going. I ordered a Tesla combination air compressor/foam tire sealant device.
